Villa Porta Maestra

We stayed at Villa Porta Maestra as two families and it honestly felt like home. One family had the second-floor apartment and the other the double-story apartment on the top floor — both were modern, stylish, and spotlessly clean. The quality and attention to detail really stand out. The location couldn’t be better, right in the middle of Hvar, yet still quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the main square was just perfect. The staff were amazing — always helpful, friendly, and with great tips for dining and excursions. The wine cellar downstairs is another highlight, with excellent tastings and a fantastic selection. It’s one of those rare places that combines five-star style with the warmth and comfort of home. Highly recommended.

Villa Porta Maestra is deserving of all the 5-star reviews! The space is beautiful, the location is perfect, and the service is excellent. It's a quick and easy walk from the ferry drop-off which is nice, while still being in the old town area. The apartment had everything you could need (full kitchen and fancy hair dryer to boot)! We loved the included breakfast spot - it's a restaurant just a few doors down. Our weather was chillier, but we did get to take advantage of the patio which was lovely. I will absolutely refer any friends/family visiting Hvar to stay here!

Staying at this apartment was truly a wonderful experience! My husband, our little baby, our dog, and I spent a few days in a perfect setting that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we made the reservation, Stefani was incredibly kind and approachable – communication was smooth and easy, and the entire check-in and check-out process was completely stress-free. We genuinely felt welcome, as if we were visiting old friends. The apartment is beautifully decorated, with great attention to every detail – warm, cozy, and spotlessly clean, with a relaxing atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The included breakfast was absolutely perfect – delicious and varied, and it made our mornings even more enjoyable. The whole stay was truly five stars! If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely welcomed – we highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Feels like home the moment you walk in. The apartment has heritage charm with modern quality finishes that respect old Hvar. We stayed in the top floor double-story apartment and it was unreal – spotless, very comfortable beds, three separate air-cons, a well-equipped kitchen, beautiful balcony, and phenomenal bathrooms. Perfect setup for larger families. Stephany was amazing, always helpful and happy to show and explain everything. Breakfast was a highlight too, full of local touches. The location couldn’t be better, right in the centre but still quiet for a good sleep. Attention to detail really stood out. Whether it’s a short stay or a longer holiday, this place is perfect. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Villa Porta Maestra while visiting Hvar in October 2025 and it was located in the perfect spot close to where the ferry pulls in from Split and just off the main square in Hvar with lots of restaurants, cafes, & shops. The hotel has been beautifully and tastefully renovated by its current owners and the staff is very helpful. We also enjoyed a delicious garden breakfast with homemade marmalade and pastries courtesy of the hotel a few doors away.

This hotel is just wonderful. This was easily the best room we stayed in during our 4 week stay in Europe. The accommodation is just perfect for a stay in Hvar. Furthermore, the personalised service we received from our host, Stephanie was next level. Nothing was too much trouble and her recommendations of what to do and where to go, to genuinely experience the local culture was of the highest level. The cellar for an evening private wine was the icing on the cake! We would highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay in Hvar for three nights in October. Stefani was extremely helpful with tips on how to get to the island when our original ferry was cancelled due to weather, and she stayed up late to meet us at the bus station. The suite was spacious, comfortable, clean, and luxurious. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay in Hvar.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Porta Maestra. The apartment is beautifully designed with a consistent, thoughtful style that blends the historic character of the walls with a modern touch. Everything feels high-quality and well thought through – from the fully equipped kitchen to the cool lighting concept and the lovely terrace (there’s even a Dyson in the bathroom). On top of that, it’s perfectly located right in the center of Hvar. Truly a perfect place to stay.
