We arrived at Villa Rosa as the last stop on our short - 10 day - visit to Sri Lanka. It was a beautiful place to stay, with generous and very welcoming staff, a lovely dog and fabulous views across the valley. The pool was very refreshing- it might have been cold for some people but after a day exploring the local area it was really energising. ||The team fixed us a walk on the Pekoe trail which was great fun - and something we were able to do unguided , being dropped at one end and picked up at the other which made it possible to relax and enjoy the walk at our own pace. ||And while there is a tuk tuk on hand to take you into Kandy, it’s only a 30 minute walk down the hill and I’d recommend that as a great way of exploring the city.||The breakfasts are lovely, fresh fruit, good coffee and the best toast we had in Sri Lanka (I know that’s a pretty trivial accolade!). The evening meal was good value and tasty, prepared with local fresh food. And sitting out on the terrace, in the daytime you could see eagles swoop in the valiey, and at night fireflies, both of which were stunning and a real highlight. ||The WiFi is a bit weak, and there was no TV in the room (which we didn’t mind at all) but to be honest it’s such a relaxing charming place that reading books and enjoying the ambience were entertainment enough.||Thank you to all of the team for a lovely stay.
