A very disappointing visit, our expectations really not met with this bland, outdated hotel.
The hotel's primary focus is the Spa side of things. This is obviously the main income for the hotel and shows.
upon arrival, the receptionist was so rude, I felt like I needed to apologise for checking in, we were certainly met with what can only be described as a cold greeting.
Things didn't improve, it's a soulless hotel with a bland feel.
The Room - Pointlessly large, we booked a suite, expecting a bit of luxury for our 3 night stay, but even the basics weren't met. This, the first hotel I've stayed in with a fully fitted kitchen, oven, cooker, fridge/freezer, even a dishwasher. Sounds impressive! Non of this is usable because the cupboards, of which there are plenty, are completely empty, no cutlery, plates or pans, and who travels with any of these items anyway?
Tea and Coffee making facilities are in the kitchen though, kettle and cups, coffee, want milk with your coffee? No, non supplied. The 1 sugar sachet available, but looked like it had not only been in the room a long time, but previous guests carried it around in their pockets throughout their stay. The expensive mini bar though, that's well stocked with overpriced junk, there to tempt you.
The rest of the room was so sparse, the only thing breaking up the magnolia walls were two A4 size pictures that had not only faded with the sun, but a previous guest had hung upside down, it would appear housekeeping hadn't noticed.
It's not a place you want to stay and relax
The positive side, the Breakfast and Restaurant /Bar areas were lovely and the service was good. Its just everything else that lets this place down.
