Villa Scacciapensieri

Everything you think of when you think of an Italian villa. The manicured gardens, the Tuscan views, the outside sitting areas, and the pool. This place is beautiful with staff members available to meet your every need and the food is amazing; authentic Italian cuisine. The breakfast is fabulous and the drinks available in the bar or at the pool are plentiful. |A taxi ride is short into Siena where you can explore and shop. The hotel staff will help make arrangements for any needed transportation or excursion into the surrounding areas.

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. While the staff were genuinely kind and polite, they were unable to take any initiative without first consulting the manager or owner.** The management seemed to prioritize profit over guest satisfaction. For example, when we asked to borrow a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine we had purchased during our trip to Tuscany, we were informed that there would be a charge, simply because the wine was not bought from the hotel.** Due to the overall disappointing experience, we decided to check out one day earlier than planned. When we notified the hotel, we were told that no refund was possible — a response that lacked both flexibility and understanding. The property itself is beautiful and located in a wonderful area, but unfortunately, it suffers from poor management. We would not recommend staying here, especially given the many better alternatives nearby

I LOVED Villa Scacciapensieri! We spent four nights there in late June. It was exactly what I was looking for. We were in Siena during a heat wave (90 during the day) so after each day of walking through another hilltop city, I wanted to be in the country surrounded by gardens with a swimming pool and sleep in an old palazzo. It was all of that. It was peaceful, quiet and cool at night. It was lovely eating dinner outside. The food was very good and the staff were very attentive. ||I had been concerned from reading some of the reviews, but I think some people have unrealistic expectations about staying in an old palazzo. Villa Scacciapensieri has so much charm and a lovely staff and a beautiful environment. The air conditioning worked, but it would not be possible to get the room to 68 degrees. We added a fan and were very comfortable sleeping.

Gardens beautiful. Staff very friendly. Special mention to Roger and Mildred. The room was clean and AC worked well. Its location and adjacent bus stop were also huge plus points.The breakfast was very disappointing - especially for a Coeliac. The food generally was uninspiring. For all this, it is somewhere we would return to as its tranquil and almost retro vibe was refreshing and does make for a great base to explore Siena.

All in all people stay here to be away from the noise of the city and get the ultimate Tuscan experience. My biggest complaint was the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was great and on point with other hotels in the 4 star range. We stayed here for our honeymoon and they did not greet us and say congratulations - which every other hotel during our stays in Italy have and I know they knew it was our “special occasion” sooooo just keep in mind you won’t be getting super “special” treatment here but the property is gorgeous! You do have to take the bus or taxi into town which was fine. We were here during their horse race tradition which was pretty cool to see.

We had a wonderful one night stay here! Awesome view, very quit and relaxed. Rooms are big, but overall a bit dusty. Not a big Problem for us but may be an issue for someone else. Staff was friendly, Breakfast was good and u get everything u need!

Located outside of the center of town, this villa is beautiful with gardens, a fountain, and a terrace. The food and wine are excellent and the staff is friendly.

Well, on Sunday (22-23 March), I forgot a jacket and I'm waiting until today (Wednesday) for them to tell me. The hotel has a very strong smell of cigarettes in the lobby. The breakfast is good. The service is good too. The room (they said gave us an upgrade) was large. However, the shower stall was small, the water fell on the floor and could cause an accident. The hair dryer didn’t work.
