Our family recently spent a few days in Locarno and enjoyed our stay at the Villa Sempreverde very much. The place is not in the centre of town but Locarno Monti is only a short and pleasant drive up the hill. The view from up there is great, our 4-bed room was actually overlooking the Lago Maggiore! The bathroom was one floor down but we had it all to ourselves. Rooms are spotless clean and beds most comfortable. The owner, Fiorenza, is very friendly and makes you feel welcome in her mansion which she tastefully decorated with some African art that she brought back from her travels there. It's a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. Breakfast is a treat with home made jams, freshly baked cakes and products from the region. We warmly recommend this place. Having lived and travelled in Asia for many years and stayed in a number of B&B's in Australia and NZ it was a nice surprise for us to see that lovely and affordable accommodation can also be found in Switzerland (even if prices are not comparable ;-)

This is a lovely old family house that has been turned into a comfortable, bright B&B. It is run by one of the siblings, Fiorenze, who is a charming host. It is located high above the town and walking up is not practical with luggage, but you could catch the funicular in town. There is car parking (free) available as part of the deal. Rooms are freshly renovated and all white. It is super clean, with spacious grounds for a pleasant vino. Wifi works very well. Breakfast is fresh and tatsy. Stay here if you crave a charming place with only 3 guests max, and want to avoid mid-big hotel bland.

Recently I spent 3 days in Locarno, canton of Ticino, Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. I stayed in the Villa Sempreverde, a B&B in Locarno-Monti, a hill overlooking the city and the beautiful Lake Maggiore surrounded by mountains. The villa is a mansion built in the late 19th century and beautifully restored. It is situated only 10 minutes away from the center/station of the city. A bus stop stands right in front of the B&B. A funicular - only 5 minutes away - is another way of going down to Locarno. A cable car will also drive you to the top of the hill if you wish so. I liked the room, all white, clear and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom fully equipped. I loved breakfast : various local products and delicious cakes baked by Fiorenza, the friendly owner. What I enjoyed very much were the garden at the back of the villa and the breathtaking view over the Lake Maggiore. There are several restaurants and "grottos" (small typical Ticino restaurants) in the Villa Sempreverde's surroundings as well as a grocer's, a post office, a hairdresser's, a baker's and other small shops. If you are looking for a quiet and inviting place, close to Locarno and offering a great view over a superb landscape, the Villa Sempreverde may well be this place. Locarno offers many opportunities for nearby excursions, lake or mountains, sports, arts, music. A city I really enjoy visiting at any time.

Wow! I came to Locarno not knowing what to expect and my friend had booked me a place to stay. Villa Sempreverde is a wonderful place. The place has a peaceful tone about it with wonderful decorations, beautiful thought through style, and a Meditteranean feel about it. The room I stayed in was very nice and helped me to relax, exactly what I needed. The Hostess is wonderful with great english and the breakfast is so tasty. The view is also great and the funicolare to go to town only a 10 Minute walk away. The bus also goes right outside the place, very convenient. I wish anyone who would stay here a very pleasant stay. I myself come from Sweden and would definitley hope to return and stay at Villa Sempreverde again!

This B&B is simply the most beautiful and relaxing place you could possibly stay in Locarno. The room was lovely, decorated with individuality and artistry and with an amazing view from the window. Breakfast was delicious - including homemade cake freshly made by Fiorenza, who is a totally beautiful and friendly host. On the penultimate day we asked if she could arrange a taxi for us to leave at 8am and it was not a problem at all - she even made breakfast for us early because of this. This sort of service is really unusual nowadasy. I would definitely come back and stay at Sempreverde again. It is like a home from home.

I spent a couple of nights at the Villa Sempreverde last autumn, and it was like being at home, even better ! The house has been beautifully renovated with white as the main colour. The rooms (I've visited two of them) are spotless clean with a design and very confortable white bed with white linens. There is parquet on the floors which is much better than moquette. There are 2 bathrooms for 3 rooms, which means that there are good chances that you might get one all for yourself. They are also very clean and blue and white in colour. Then there is the second B, the Breakfast: great ! Freshly baked cakes, cheeses from the region, homemade jelly, very nice tea (from a small shop in Locarno, where all tea lover's should go) from La Casa del Té. Like I said before everything is very cozy and you feel very welcome. I think that when the weather is warmer the garden must be awesome and a place where you would want to spend some hours to read or relax. In a few words: try it, it's worth it !!

Cosy place and great location with a view over the lake and mountains. Would go again. Rooms simple but sufficient for a short stay. We stayed with 2 small kids for which the place is easy and convenient but not ideal/perfect.

Although far off the Locarno lake front, it is a warm place with clean rooms and great breakfast.||The shared bathroom is not expected by that room price tag. On the other hand, the common living room makes you feel at home.
