All and all a great little hotel. |We found the hotel to be very clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We spoke enough Spanish to get by but all the reception staff spoke good English. Decent enough buffet breakfast and a plentyfull supply of fresh coffee and orange juice. We took a lodge type room which had its own bedroom and kitchen split over 2 levels.|Ideally situated with a mere 10/15 minute walk to the centre of the bustling town.

We had a lovely visit with Villa Sofia for our first time in Argentina and Bariloche. The staff was very friendly (despite our language barrier) and helpful. We enjoyed the view we had from our apartment of the mountains, and generally found the apartment to be perfectly nice. Our only complaint would be the beds -- they are a bit outdated and could use updating. We were not bothered by the noise and it was not overly loud, though definitely not quiet (you are staying in a city and there are other guests at the hotel). Other reviews mention the walk. While we were concerned about that at first, we actually found it to be a nice way to begin and end the day. It is a hilly city, and it was nice to be "away" from the immediate downtown and in a more semi residential spot. If you are looking for a nice place to crash, Villa Sofia has good accommodations for visitors.

Staff is really profesional, always ready to help. Premises are nice. The cabin has anything you need. Family of four. A little far from main attractions at Bariloche if you do not have a car, but staff will help you get a taxi or remi. Very affordable .

I just stayed here for a week (first time in Bariloche) and I absolutely loved Villa Sofia. The staff were all super friendly. The laundry service was amazing. They washed all my clothes and folded them for me. :) Breakfast was great. Eggs, media lunas (similar to croissants), cereals, fruits, cheeses, pretty much everything you could ask for. The room and area were well kept. Location was nice too. It's about a 15min walk to the city center / water. Expect to walk a lot in Bariloche. :) There is MODA bar about a 5min walk were we watched some world cup matches. Pharmacy and grocery store nearby. Overall very happy with this stay and will stay again. Muchas gracias!

As it says in my title it felt like a country cabin even though it was in an apartment style building.||Once you enter the room it has a nice stone floor and an open space with both a kitchenette and a living room. Around a small wall you find the bedroom and the washroom.very basic cabin but very warm and inviting.||As for the staff all were more then helpful and very friendly. The breakfast we had was included(a good value) was a nice assortment of pastries and some cheeses and meats as well as a hot choice. The first morning we had our breakfast at our complex even though they open only at 8:00 am the nice staff member allowed us in @ 7:30 to start with our coffee as we had an early morning tour booked. This was very sweet of her. The second morning they had an issue with the electrical power in our breakfast room so they invited us to go over to the hotel and spa and eat there. Many reviewers on here complained about this as if it were the end of the world .... I do not understand it is a short simple walk!||Same breakfast as the first morning, but they open up at 7:30.||We did use the swimming pool after our tour on the first day. My only complaint is it was in direct sun with no shade on the pool deck, as well very little shade to be found anywhere near the pool. Maybe a few large umbrellas along with a few more chaise lounges for the guest would be nice. ||As for the location of this hotel, there were many disparaging comments as to its distance to the city center. It is a approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk downhill which gives you a chance to explore other parts of this sweet town. If you prefer not to walk there is a bus stop outside the complex, as well you can always take a taxi. ||Over all good value for the price.

We arrived there at midday hoping we could have an early check in but no, the rules are the rules and we couldn’t have the keys of our studio before 15h00. It was a crazy hot day and we were craving for a refreshing shower and a snooze before heading to town. So we had to wait...||The studio was on the first floor. Very tidy with dark stone floor, a tiny kitchenette just enough to prepare breakfast but nothing more because there’s no worktop or working space. Actually, the electric stove tops weren’t very efficient.||Otherwise the general layout is well thought, the room relatively spacious. The bed was comfortable.||Downside: probably because we were there for one night only, our studio was at the front, overlooking the road and it was so noisy with the traffic that we couldn’t keep the windows open for the night. Not great! ||It is also quite a hike up back from town. So as you can’t drink and drive, you’ll have no choice to have a very digestive walk...
