Wow! the room we were given was actually a suite - you entered a living room that had two large sofa beds, coffee table, a lounge recliner with footstool in front of a large screen TV, and a balcony that had its own sofa set. The woodwork were all tasteful and expensive looking. There was a serious attempt to decorate with art pieces. This then led to the bedroom area with its T&B. It had a lot of windows, each with nice heavy drapes and lace curtains. The wooden floors had great looking carpets. The balcony was great - you had a great view of St. Sofia Orthodox Church which was always lighted, then beyond that, the hills with the nice houses beyond. We drank nice wine in the balcony in the evening - very romantic. On another side, the windows gave a great view of the lake with the nearby boats. The hotel itself is inside the Old Town just beside the St. Sofia Orthodox Church. ||||Despite the huge size, the toilet-bath was ordinary sized. And the shower stall, one of those modern standalone enclosures with wall shower jets, was so difficult to operate. Its electronic panel wasn't working and it was hard if not downright impossible to get the temperature right. Part of the problem is that it takes so long for the temperature to change. The sink was also problematic - we couldn't get hot water out of it no matter how long we waited. ||||There were a total of six split air con units, each with their separate control panels. Unfortunately, one of the two units in the bedroom leaked and wet the carpet - that might have been the reason why there was another carpet drying in the balcony. ||||We were on the second floor. On the first floor (above the ground floor), there was a nice staging area with several inviting sofa and seats. ||||Breakfast was all custom served. They brought each table some toast, spreads, hams, coffee, orange juice, and you could ask for omelet or fried eggs. ||||A few other criticisms - there was no trash can anywhere except for the bathroom. No electric water pot. The ref never worked. the wifi would sometimes go on the blink. The reception area was often empty - they seemed to be undermanned despite this being peak season. And they didn't return our passports until we were checking out - they had so many excuses why they couldn't give it to us yet. Really, hotels still do this?
