Such a memorable stay. The girls at the reception definitely made our trip better. They were the best hostesses ever. We returned from a festival, very tired, very sick and struggling to even go out and explore. They made tea for us and made sure that we have a very relaxing time. Our room had direct access to the pool which was so beautiful to wake up to and have a morning swim. The interior of the room was gorgeous and the facilities were amazing. The hotel has an excellent location as well, a very short walk to the old town. They gifted us a magnet of the Villa for our fridge which was such a beautiful gesture. We will definitely come back everytime we visit Chiang Mai. Would totally recommend. Thanks a lot!! ❤️

What really stand out is the outstanding service provided by the hotel staff. We felt safe, comfortable and so well taken care of. All of hotel staff genuinely enjoy serving and ensuring that our stay is comfortable. We loved our daily chit chats with them and it felt like we were staying in a friend's home. A beautiful small hotel with only six rooms, a pool, and a lovely landscaped setting. Perfectly located within walking distance of the main Night Market, the Night Bazaar, and the Chiang Mai gates. But the best part is truly the kindness and warm smiles of the all-female staff — they are absolutely wonderful, helpful, and genuinely sweet. This is a well-deserved five-star experience! I was searching for a cosy hotel to spend one night and it happened to be the place I didn't want to leave. Villa Thapae is a small hotel hidden in it's own jungle, surrounded by great atmosphere and amazing facilities. I happen to made a friend who I will always remember. Huge thanks and greetings to Frey, the lovely lady at the reception, who welcomed me with the biggest smile, gave me the best guide to the city and recommended the best spots for food, drinks and sightseeings. If you want to feel safe, chill and amazed by your surrounding, I 1000% reccomend this hotel.

This hotel is a must!!! The rooms are spacious & quirky. Having only 6 rooms, the noise is minimum. The staff are friendly, personable & knowledgable. We loved everything about our stay & wish we were here longer. Location is perfect - short walk to night bazaar & Sunday night market. Thank you Fray, Fern & staff. We will be back

Amazing experience. It didn’t feel like you were in the busy city. There staff were so friendly. They spoke perfect English as well that made our experience even better. The rooms were amazing always cold, The beds were comfy and very easy to sleep in. In walking distance from the night market. Also a 7eleven around the corner.

Best hotel in Chiang Mai! I’m an obsessive travel planner and spent a ridiculous amount of time reading hotel reviews before deciding to stay at Villa Thapae. The effort was worth it as I can’t imagine a better place to stay. We used Chiang Mai as a base to travel to other destinations, so we stayed at Villa Thapae a total of 7 nights and in 3 different rooms. We’re currently in Mae Hong Son and will return to Chiang Mai one more time to fly to Bangkok. I’ve been considering trying a different hotel and have been scouring reviews again, but might just return to Villa Thapae! Location — can’t beat the access to Old Town. There’s the cute “Relax” coffee shop with breakfast right just down the alley and Kung laundry nearby. Chiang Mai/Anusarn Market and Sunday night and Wua Lai night markets are walking distance. And of course all of Old Town is right there. Rooms — The 1st floor family room (with stairs) was great for 3 adults. The white noise machine made middle of the night bathroom trips no problem. — The 1st floor pool access room was possibly my favorite. I hopped in the pool every chance I got. — 2nd floor room was definitely my daughters favorite and i’m glad I stayed in both and didn’t have to decide. There was so much light from the large window overlooking the pool and trees. I didn’t go to the pool while I stayed in this room, partly because we had less time but also not as “convenient.” — Beds were all comfortable and it is very quiet at night. — The bathrooms are not directly air conditioned. The upstairs rooms gets more sun so the upstairs bathrooms are a bit warmer in the afternoon — just something I noticed, not a problem. Cleanliness — the whole place is spotless. The staff are constantly tidying up the property both inside and around the outer perimeter. Staff — everyone was so sweet and welcoming! The woman that I assume is the manager is the happiest person and speaks perfect English and seemed genuinely excited to see us each day. I gave her a hug when we checked out! Pool — Very clean. Mostly shady by the beautiful trees. When you get back from walking around town it is absolutely perfect for cooling off and relaxing.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Thapae. It's located wonderfully, just 3min walking distance to the Tha Pae Gate. Some nice restaurants (+massage places) are also in a walking distance of 3-10min. The room was really nice and also clean. The pool is a great refreshment after a walk through the old town or a jungle tour. We also liked the decoration, the details, indoor and outdoor. Especially great was the staff! They helped us book an amazing rafting tour in the North of Chiang Mai and a transfer to the airport. Very nice people there. We can totally recommend staying there!
