Villa Varos

Steps away from the water, close by all the restaurants and amenities and tucked into a nice quiet area in an amazing location. It was perfect for getting anywhere in Split by foot. I had a great experience, the place was very cozy, check in was easy and the hosts are very accommodating. We will definitely be back again!

Really comfortable stay at this place with me and my wife. Location was terrific with only a 60 second walk to the Riva. Room was clean and comfortable and really nice quality wood furniture. Staff were great we even had a missed flight and arrived at 1am and they waited for us. Will be coming back next year for sure!

I was in the beautiful city of Split in Croatia for a few days recently (early September, 2025) and it was a fantastic experience. That was due not only to the natural beauty of the place and the historical significance of the ruins there, but also because of the accommodation. I stayed at "Villa Varos", right in the heart of the historic centre and only minutes away from Emperor Diocletian's summer Palace and a host of cafes, restaurants and bars (as well as a laundromat, where the washing can be done on the same day for you, and grocery shops where all kinds of foods can be bought if one does not wish to go to a restaurant on a particular night). The room, though on the smallish side, was perfectly well appointed and spotlessly clean. Gregory, the owner, was immensely helpful and a splendid host. He helped me with my luggage both on arrival and on departure. He also made sure that my taxi ride back to the airport was very economical. Had I contacted him before my arrival, the taxi ride to "Villa Varos" would also not have been overly expensive. I highly recommend "Villa Varos" to any prospective tourist to Split. As I said to Gregory, "I'll certainly be back and for a longer stay. This time, however, I'll book a bigger room".

A small and friendly hotel in a good location close to the city centre. Everything is within walking distance. Communication was good and I got help when I needed it. The room was compact and very clean. Soundproofing to adjacent rooms was perhaps the biggest minus, as the creaking of the floor, speech and music could be heard in my room from time to time. But the nights were generally peaceful. I can recommend to anyone who doesn't need special luxury services but rather a basic place to stay.

The rooms are small, but the excellent layout more than makes up for it. The best reason to stay at Villa Varos is the location! You are right there at the edge of the tourist area, not in the middle of it.

Very convenient location in the Old Town close to everything and super nice owner/manager Gregory. We lost the necklace during our stay, and it was found and returned to us.

Loved staying in Villa Varos. Rooms were exceptionally clean and welcoming. Staff are top notch and make you feel right at home. Highly recommend staying during the off season as well as high season. VV is close to town and just a few minutes down to the beautiful promenade.
