Villa Vedici

Stayed here in December '25. We really enjoyed our time at Villa Vedici Enjoyed chatting with the owners who are really helpful with booking activities etc too. Good food and good breakfasts. Really chilled place, rarely many other people around the pools. Nice to have a free entertainment like pool and table tennis etc. Great views from the river front rooms too. As others have pointed out there's a few minor maintenance opportunities but everything worked and was clean.

Our stay at Villa Vedici was just horrible in so many ways. ||We have had over 30 years of traveling Asia and this one of if not the worst experience. The European owner displayed complete contempt for his guests.  The only focus was hosting his extended family gathering at the hotel, guests were an interuption to the famly holiday.||Some of the issues we had with the hotel:||Arriving back at the hotel to find an old disconnected  toilet at the foot of the stairs to our room.||Walking up to our room to find that, whilst we had been our all day, without any warning all of our personal belongings had been moved to the neighbouring room and placed in identical position to where we had left them. ||The dirty linen on the beds in the room when they moved us and 3 attempts by the poor staff to find sheets that were clean and fitted. ||The sheets generally that were so worn and  ripped that they hardly covered the old lumpy stained mattresses, the threadbare towels, the sweat stained smelly pillows. ||The smelly bathrooms and the very, very poor water pressure. ||Not being able to use the main pool or the dining area as the owners' extended  family  (with the men generally drunk) dominated the space, chairs, tables sunbeds etc.||The family leaving their sweaty clothes on tables and stools, laying baby playmats 2*2 metres,  toys, kite surfing equipment ( from their business) accross walkways, the dining room and the terreace. ||Trying to have lunch and the owners' family operating large loud  nursery rhyme playing remote control cars with children in them around the dining tables. ||The layer of dust that covered everything including the dining tables chairs, sunbeds, bar, the games area and the pool full of leaves and sugar cane||Positives - the female Manager, were very helpful including allowing us to check out early. ||Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. ||There are many beautiful hotels in Kampot. We know, we checked out &  found one.

Never again. Strongly not recommended. Positive: • Beautiful view, with a peaceful and tranquil natural setting. Negative: • The rooms are very old, and the air-conditioning is not cold enough. • We ordered food and waited for an hour and a half. Eventually, we had to cancel and go to town instead just to have lunch.

Location is amazing and very beautiful with river view, great for sunset and sunrise watching, but the hotel is not clean considering the price. We see the waste from kitchen and toilets are going down the river, our room is facing the river, we can see waste floating on the river at the corner and by the edge. The staffs should be more proactive to clean and get the floating waste and plastic out of the river by their guest house. Room is not clean, some dirt and stains on the bedsheets and towels they gave. Reception was not friendly and no one was there when we arrived, we had to wait and raised our voice to call for someone to come and check us in.

Theres two words that for me sums this place up best: Charm & Tranquility. It oozes both. The beautifully kept vast gardens, the traditional architecture, the peace of the riverfront, all add up to a little paradise, and imho the best Kampot has to offer by quite some margin. It has two pools - a smaller square one by the bar, and a good size one suitable for swimming lengths. It's rare you'll see more than one or two people in them at a time, so plenty of space. Kids should be kept happy with a slide and jacuzzi jets in the larger pool, along with the electric cars with a circuit through the gardens, games, pool tables & kayaks for the river...though in general its a more mature crowd. It has a 3 star rating, and yes though you'll probably find the odd wobbly tap or bits that could use a fresh lick of paint it's very comfortable, the hosts & staff are courteous and helpful. It always feels personal, not chain-like and you'll never forget you are in Cambodia, which is where the magic is. There's a good range of accommodation for both short and long stays.. bedrooms, apartments and houses. Occasionally the bar stays open late so might want to request a room away from the bar if you are a sensitive sleeper. But generally it's super peaceful, with not much more than crickets after 9 or 10. It's perfectly located.. About 2 or 3k out of town. A tuktuk is approximately $1.25 each way, or the hosts can arrange mopeds for a few dollars.. or theres also a selection of bicycles if you prefer. Well worth it for a trip up the mountain or just for exploring the food options, though they have quite an extensive menu and of course fresh fruit smoothies & cocktails for the pool.

This hotel is excellent. This small city has many hotels, making it a great place for a family vacation. There's a children's pool and an adult pool. The view is stunning, and kayaks and boats are available. We visited during the off-season, when the hotel was undergoing renovations. Overall, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Just awful. Dirty, uncared for and living off the past glory of the position with a great view. European owners don't care about anything except their own extended family on a free holiday. Owners clearly don't care. Staff struggling to keep it together.Over priced for most rooms only two have views.Backppacker at best.

Great hosts really friendly and welcoming. Spent 4 nights here and its a great spot as a base for Kampot and surrounding areas. Kampot, Kep and the Bokur national park are all really close. Fridge in the room and great river view to watch the sunsets and passing fishing boats at golden hour. Get on board with the “no program program!”
