We have stayed here multiple times over the years, as well as sent friends. It's off the beaten path, for those who want to be a taxi-ride away from the city center but who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. It overlooks Oaxaca, with a great view and a big, refreshing pool. The kitchen staff make great-tasting food in their quaint comedor. The adobe rooms are simple, but spacious and refreshing in the heat.

A hidden gem! Villada offers bare bones rooms with wonderful amenities and hospitality. I needed a night away from the city and chose Villada Inn for its lovely pool and location. Villada Inn is tucked up in the Oaxaca City hills on a quiet street surrounded by mountain views. The owner, and the innkeeper/cook and her daughter handle the day-to-day operations. The innkeeper greeted me upon arrival and allowed me to check in early to take advantage of the pool. My lunch and dinner was made to order by the Zapoteca innkeeper. She cooks the most amazing mole! There's a small on-site chapel, temescal, studio/meeting room and new bar area. The bar area is not yet open. It also looks like they are still renovating. ||I must also mention there was a rainstorm during dinner which provided a once in a lifetime experience that I'll never forget. The innkeeper and her daughter were always making sure I was happy and comfortable. ||I hated to leave and already planning my next visit. Love you, Villada!

We had a fantastic stay for 8 nights, We slept better here than anywhere else that we have traveled in the last 3 weeks. The room we had was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a hammock, & beautiful garden. But the best thing about Villada were the people, we were greeted with such sincerity and warmth. The view from the dining room is of majestic mountains,& coffee always served with a smile. I totally recommend the Mexican breakfast omelette truly delicious. Juliette went out of her way to help us when my son was sick, she bought the doctor to our room, acted as an interpreter, an is very genuinely kind. I’m hoping we get to return on day. Would definitely recommend.

Sometimes a place has better pictures than it actually ends up being. This is the opposite- better than expected, and it already looked great. It is "simple", but a very relaxing and unique experience that really worked for us to relax and unwind. Sitting in the hammock, looking at the mountains over Oaxaca, feeling the pleasant breeze blow, really helped me recharge and center myself after a long week on the road. Chatting with the hosts was very kind and pleasant. They are helpful without being intrusive. Julietta speaks perfect English, and YaYa is a wonderful and kind older lady with dignity and a beautiful smile. This is a great place. Be warned- the drive up is a challenge. If you have a lowered sports car, you might hate trying to get here. We liked it so much we changed our plans and stayed another day.

La Villada Inn Hostel is out of town into a quiet residential area. It’s in a quiet and peaceful location in Oaxaca and once you walk in there is accommodation and the swimming pool.||We had a basic room and it was fine, clean and with plenty of space and there was a sitting area under the veranda outside.||There is a pool with seating around and from here there is a great view to the mountains.||We had a tasty cooked breakfast with sweet black coffee and the food is cooked to order. There are pleany of places to sit and relax and at the time of writing in the room where we ate there are tables for people to eat around and there is graffiti all over the wooden beams etc. of people who have stayed here before.||Relaxing and peaceful and easy to get transport into town, would be happy to stay there again.

fantastic experience. Get to know the actual culture and how things are in Mexico. The food, the culture, their whole way of life. Family run and friendly. on sight food prep traditional dishes of Mexico. City center easy access by taxi.. things to see and do within walking distance. I felt completely safe in everything I did. The local people were friendly and helpful. In a hostel setting, you meet many young travelers from Europe, Australia, and the US. very friendly and like to talk. All costs are very reasonable and affordable.

It's a very nice place to stay when you want to relax. with the swimming pool and the chill vibe the stress just melts away, the staff is friendly, the place is neat and the food is amazing. The very nice owner takes time to talk with you and recommend you all kind of tours. All by all, we enjoyed our stay a lot. It's a bit far from the city center, but for us it was perfect to get away from the busy city. we were by car so it was easy to get there.

Yelp
Great for cheapos with mediocre standards! PROS: Price Amazing view WiFi Good food/cheap anytime throughout the day Pool Sauna 1-2 ppl speak English Hammocks/lots of places to relax Big rooms SUPER friendly folks, very accommodating Safe Family owned/operated, no thieves Laundry service (cheap) CONS: Bring earplugs, dogs bark 24/7 WiFi only works in public areas, not in rooms Most of the staff don't speak much English Showers are gross, rarely cleaned, bring flip flops Bathrooms generally gross except toilets, paper bucket & floor cleaned daily Office computer broken. IDK about printer Inaccessible, requires 30+ min walk to bus stop, very steep hills, good workout otw back. Some taxis don't even know where it is Very limited # of outlets (rooms & public areas) REALLY old mattresses... Flat, uncomfortable, pillows flat No fitted sheets, just flats, so if you roll around in your sleep be prepared to wake up in a sweaty cocoon Cobwebs No blow drier, iron, shampoo/conditioner or soap. Bring your own Termites in my room, woke up daily to larvae & wood pulp on the floor Towels only, no wash cloths No safes Dim lighting in rooms Lamps are old, I was worried about the safety of inconsistent electrical conditions No staff available overnight Basically if you're a cheapass, don't really care about amenities, can keep clean on your own & don't mind a good bit of exercise, this place is perfect!
