We had a wonderful lunch experience as we were traveling through. Great tasting sandwiches and good coffee. We also shared an espresso brownie - yummm! As we checked out, we picked up a couple cinnamon rolls for morning. This restaurant/bakery has a lol of offerings and variety. Great weather and great views while we ate.

Google
Terrific bakery, really good coffee and drinks. The Friday night salmon bake was the best salmon I’ve ever had.

So I’ve done ridden up the I-5, the 97 highway and all the Alaskan highway and up to Prudhoe Bay and now I’m headed back and this little place (off the main road) has the best coffee of all! It was amazing. Loved their breakfast too but it was such a relief to have a great coffee. Thank you!

Google
Awesome browny and coffee, been there twice in a week (going by and coming back). Highly recommended.

Went there couple years ago for a weekend getaway. Stopped by this bakery and deli shop. Was not disappointed at all. Cinnamon bun with walnuts was to die for! And freshly made sandwich from fresh bread. It had an amazing taste and flavour. I tried also tried hot beverage, hot chocolate. Must try!! Great variety of food/sandwiches to choose from.

Google
Excellent little place that we discovered during our stay in Haines Junction. We had breakfast here a few times and made it in time for dinner one night. Breakfast sandwiches, rolls, cookies, dessert bars, parfait, coffee, salads, lasagna, and ice cream are all excellent. The food was always fresh and made with quality ingredients; service was quick and efficient. Nice outdoor seating area. Make sure to check out the plates of day old cinnamon rolls in the morning for a great value. Prices for food are comparable to what you would see at Starbucks here in the states but quality is far better.

Google
One of the best coffee in the area. The smothie was nice and fresh. The date square were delicious, tasted good homemade dough. Seems like a very good bakery, I wish we were staying in the city for longer so we could try more if this tasty quiches, croissants and cakes!

Google
Great place for breakfast or whatever. HIGH quality food, and great staff! Cool atmosphere.

Yelp
Great place Lists of selection for Gluten free people and others. Coffee was good but amazing atmosphere. About 1 1/2 hour drive from Whitehorse. Well worth the drive for a nice day out. Not much in Hains Junction but good destination on a long weekend.

Yelp
Lovely little stop to grab breakfast and coffee! Very green with a great variety plus local brews, too bad it was 7am

Yelp
This is the place in town for breakfast, pastries, coffee, and more. Very friendly and efficient service - particularly considering the staff is doing multiple jobs simultaneously -- making coffee drinks, heating up breakfast items, ringing up orders, and more. Good basic pastry breakfast items are available, including ham/egg/cheese croissants, scones, etc. Also, packaged items like garlic cheese breadsticks. And a wide range of coffee drinks.

Yelp
A nice rustic setting hidden by the trees, easy to miss if you don't look carefully. The food selection was large and uniformly good for the items we tried. Service was efficient and friendly. I would definitely eat here again! Parking could be improved.

Sally S.

Yelp
We bought over $30, which wasn't hard to do. Scones all have frosting on them. NOT my thing, but Hubby got 2 and said they were just ok. More like cake than typical scone. He also got the bison "sausage" cheesy bread, which was all cheesy bread with a sliver of a bison sausage. He'd get the ham & cheese croissant over the sausage bread. I got 3 big cookies for $10. To my surprise, the best one was oatmeal walnut cranberry, then ginger molasses. I eventually threw out the chocolate chip cookie. The order of tastiness was the opposite of what I would have thought.

Yelp
Staff was kind and helpful. Both hot and cold food options were available. Food was prepared quickly & handed to us on a tray to take to tables outside. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent, we sat outside for 15 minutes and got eaten alive.

Yelp
This place is a gem! Lovely array of sandwiches and breakfast items. And of course, fresh bread! There's not a lot of food choices in Haines Junction, but this is a great choice for yummy healthy food.

Judy H.

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos and homemade soup. Also bought cheddar and jalapeños bread.

Yelp
Such a great spot in Haines Junction. Good for breakfast lunch or dinner. Their summer concerts should not be missed! Friendly staff, great patio, and amazing fresh baked goods.

Yelp
We spent several days in the area visiting Kluane park. This is A good stop for expresso drinks, lunch and baked goods while visiting the park or travelling through. Good friendly service, nice deck with a beauty view of the mountains. Apparently they also have music in the evenings during summer months. Can be busy at times.

Yelp
We were on our way from Haines to Whitehorse with our motorcycles. Stopped by for lunch. Staff was fantastic!!! Food was fabulous!!! We all had different sandwiches. Pulled pork, smoked brisket, and turkey. All the product seemed homemade. We had sourdough bread and fresh cookies. Also salmon chowder!!! Would highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
A little gem in the middle of nowhere. Great place to get a sandwich, soup or dessert. I really enjoyed freshly made sandwiches with an option to choose bread, protein, veggies which go on it. There are pies and quiches, hot and cold refreshments. We tried mushroom quiche for breakfast and it was a bit too watery to my taste, but the sandwich I had for lunch a few times I really really enjoyed. You can see on the picture all the veggies that are there and how much meat you get. Next time I'm Haines Junction this place is my lunch preference!

Whitney W.

Yelp
What a fantastic little gem! Not just a bakery! Everyone working was friendly and thoughtful. We left with a loaf of sourdough( great texture and flavor), a veggie breakfast burrito (very filling), a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie, espresso brownie, and some iced lattes. Great atmosphere, wish we were not just passing through-they have live music and sell alcohol. A must stop if you are in Haines Junction!

Heather S.

Yelp
Delicious breads, homemade desserts, and large sandwiches-- the perfect stop on the Alaskan Highway. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat and found a sweet place with great fare and friendly people. The sandwiches full of meat, cheese, and veggies and on their tasty homemade sourdough bread. We liked the bread so much, we bought an extra loaf to go. In the pic you'll see three desserts, all of which satisfied the four of us. We will be staying here again on the way home.

Yelp
This is a lovely spot to have a coffee and a snack. They have all kinds of coffee and espresso beverages, smoothies, sandwiches baked goods and desserts. They also have a selection of fresh baked breads for sale. The staff were very friendly. I ordered a croissant and an iced latte with caramel. Both were delicious and a very welcome boost to a long day of traveling. If you are in Haines Junction, you should definitely check them out.

Paula R.

Yelp
For those of you, like myself, who are really in need of fresh food, this is your stop. Albeit mostly fresh baked items, you will find delicious egg burritos, both veggie & bacon. (To find fresh spinach and peppers out here in the wilderness is a welcome find!) We also enjoyed their fresh baked quiche with turkey and mushrooms. Delicious and highly recommend this place. They also serve organic dark roast coffee - no watery Folgers crystals "coffee" here! We stopped for breakfast, but I noticed they do offer build your own sandwiches and homemade soup - todays selection was salmon chowder.

G W.

Yelp
Open seasonally. Very pleasant outdoor space they have a weekly salmon bake and concert. Worth the stop if you're going through The Junction in the summer.

Yelp
Great little coffee stop. Pastries are great. This is my layover from Haines. Really recommend it.

Yelp
We biked into Haines Junction around 8:40 PM from Destruction Bay (107 kilometers) to find that the liquor store and general store were both closed which meant no beer and no food for dinner. After much discussion with the gas station clerk we found out that the Village Bakery was open until 9. Two of us booked it over to see what we could find to supplement our dehydrated meals. The atmosphere immediately hit me as a very relaxing and chill place. There is a large area for BBQs and a huge deck with picnic tables. Inside you find loaves of bread lining the wall and huge display cases full of goodies. We immediately asked the owner behind the counter how late he stayed open. He said 9 or later and welcomed us to go get our friends. Amongst the 6 of us we bought 4 loaves of bread, 12 beers, 2 quiches, a half dozen other pastries and a slushie. It took us several minutes to figure out what we all wanted but the owner kept his patience and even let us cook our dehydrated food on the deck. The next morning we work up early to make it back in time to get the day old goodies he had mentioned the night before. For a little under $5 you can get 3 enormous pastries. They have them already assorted for you so be sure to get there early for the best selection. We were able to update our websites, enjoy our coffee and destroy our pastries all before 11 AM without once getting a dirty look that we were hanging around too long. About the baked goods: They were all very generously sized. My favorite was the strawberry cream cheese danish. The filling tasted as if I was eating a strawberry cheesecake. The day old cinnamon roll was big but on the dry side. I imagine that the fresh ones are amazing heated up. The loaves of bread were reasonably priced, moist and fluffy. We ate on the loaves all the way to Whitehorse. The cream cheese basil loaf was really good with the dehydrated Italian food I had. This will be the best bakery you will find from Whitehorse to Fairbanks, AK so stock up!

Yelp
Beautiful vegetables growing in the garden outside. They said I was welcome to pick a leaf and munch on it while I was waiting. Delicious chard! I loved my vegetarian tamale pie. Chicken pot pie that my husband had was really good too. And the bliss ball was excellent! About six flavors of hard ice cream to choose from. They recycle! No kombucha, sadly.

Sidney S.

Yelp
Stopped by in the way to Fairbanks . Ham and cheese croissant was amazing! 10/10. Seems Like the have a pretty good summer line up of events as well.

C M.

Yelp
Pretty much everyone in town seems to know this is the best place in town. Don't let the name fool you. It's not just a bakery.

Hailley G.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Incredibly quaint and lovely staff. The food is really delicious and the atmosphere is awesome. I work remotely so spent a good chunk of time at different tables. It was nice that they had a whole separate room to work from and lots of outdoor seating. I'll definitely be back anytime I'm near Haines Junction! Pro tip: their cinnamon buns are out of this world!

Ashley L.

Yelp
An hour and a half outside Whitehorse, Haines Junction is in the middle of wildness nowhere. This sweet little bakery and cafe offers a little bit of something for everyone. There's no massive amounts of vegan options but they do have a veggie lasagna made with cashew cheese, mushroom stuffed peppers, tofu wraps using rice paper with peanut sauce and sandwiches you can customize. They also have endangered species chocolate bars on a shelf area. Smoothies and coffee is also available, as well as cold drinks. It is in a nice little location and has a beautiful outside seating area. Service was good too.

Kathy G.

Yelp
Amazing coffee (from a Seattle coffee snob). Breakfast entrees are tasty. Their Bliss Balls are to die for!

Maura S.

Yelp
This place has it all! Coffee, pastries, bread, desserts, ice cream.... and on the night when we walked in (a Friday) they had a fish bake going on that looked and smelled awfully good. If you are driving through Haines Junction, or spending a night, I recommend stopping in to the bakery for breakfast and a coffee.

Curdin A.

Yelp
Their burritos are delicious and are worth it same with the cheese sticks just a good place to get a good snack at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Norel P.

Yelp
Everything is great service is very good let your stomach be your guide.

Eric H.

Yelp
Excellent home made bakery located in the remote Haines Junction area. Owners pay lot of attentions in details. Must visit if you stay in here.

Dom C.

Yelp
Really nice atmosphere and great that the place is open late and has free wifi! Wonderful buns(!) and the bread is tasty too. The microwave meals are okay but do need few blasts as can be cold in the middle. Loads of soda and hot drinks and outdoor seating is pleasant on sunny summer evenings. Its also cheap (but not tacky) and the final good food stop before Fairbanks or Whitehorse!!

Scott S.

Yelp
Nice retreat from an intense day of exploring Kluane. VB has been here quite awhile. Good quality, with some creativity in their offerings, though some of the baked goods are rather uneven. Still, a must stop if you're in HJ. A bit pricey (like everything around here). We found the service to be somewhat abrupt, but they were having a pretty busy week.

Jessica S.

Yelp
My parents went to the Village Bakery two days ago, and called to say it was the best food they've had since leaving home (they're driving from Oregon to Alaska, and were five days into the trip). They loved the variety and got to meet with one of the owners, who was very gracious.

PJ B.

Yelp
The Friday night Salmon BBQ is the best you will find on the Alaska Highway...the wild salmon is cooked to perfection and the side dishes are plentiful and full of flavour! You will not be disappointed! And the other offerings at the bakery are very tasty as well!
