There were a couple of reasons I was especially interested in visiting Village Garage Distillery. One was that in 2023, they had a table at a whiskey tasting event in Massachusetts that I attended, but I did not make it to their table, so I felt an interest and an obligation. The other was that on their website, they advertise Jonathan Goldsmith as their "chief storyteller." He is an actor who portrayed "the world's most interesting man" in numerous advertisements. I seriously doubted he'd actually be there on a Wednesday afternoon at 4pm (and I was right), but it still seemed an interesting thing to have.
The distillery is fairly large, bright, and comfortable, both with tables for eating and drinking, and a lot of seats along the fairly long bar. They have a standard pour, for $18, featuring 1oz. pours of 3 of their products, two bourbons and one rye. Other pour options and other drinks are certainly available. Conversation at the bar can be lively, especially if you get someone who is more involved with the production of their products. Food options are available, though I didn't try anything.
The distillery is not in the "downtown" area but is only a short, 4-minute walk from it. They have a fairly large parking area as well should you opt to drive there.
