Village Ice Cream

We've been staring at the line outside the door of this ice cream shop for nearly two years. We finally went in today. They make their own waffle cones which is great and the coffee flavoured ice cream was very creamy and delicious. You can take home pre packaged ice creams as well. Coming out of the VIP movie theater this is a delicious treat.

A great spot for dessert!!! Super fast and just the right amount of options. I had the maple pecan ice cream in a waffle cone. 😁 Gluten free options available and they even served it from a fresh bucket in the back.

Caught them before close, with no line up and elected the Earl Grey and Alberta Berry? Both were divine, with the Earl Grey almost earthy, perfect as a low sweet option, and the berry was unreal! Waffle cones were but crunchy and chewy…am around perfect on a summer day.

We took a weekend stroll through the University district, had lunch with our godmother, and decided to head over for ice cream. Village Ice Cream never disappoints. The quality is exceptional, with flavors that strike the perfect balance between sweetness and richness. My favorite has always been the honeyberry—it's a delightful mix of sweet, sour, and tart. Although there was a bit of a line, it moved quickly. There are plenty of seating areas both inside and out.

This is an innovative, high-tech bathroom indeed! Wowza! The bathroom comes equipped with a very accessible electronic locking system and a wheelchair accessible sink. Unfortunately, the sink doesn’t also seem to be sink pisser wheelchair accessible. But otherwise, a very innovative bathroom experience. Worth a visit and a tinkle in the sink.

We were able to talk with the owner and founder of village ice cream, who was a super nice guy. It was interesting to hear his story and learn about the beginnings of village ice cream! The salted caramel is a classic and it always has been!

Me and my fiancé love going here, we go at least once a month to check out the new seasonals, it is in the perfect location as you can get your ice cream and walk outside and enjoy the scenery. The customer service is exceptional and have never had any troubles, additionally, we have tried almost all their normal menu flavours and love them all, my only concern is that they might never bring back their Vietnamese Ice Coffee flavour which is the best ice cream I have ever had!

Hands down this is the best place for ice cream in YYC! Great staff and awesome selections. A bit pricey but worth it. You are cheating yourself out of the whole experience if you don't get a freshly made waffle cone! Also bring your dog since they have a dog friendly ice-cream option too. My favorite is the Earl Grey and the Coconut one. I loved the mini donut one during stampede but its seasonal. Bring it back! Village Ice Cream in the UD is the best.

Maple pecan was nice but nothing extraordinary. Honey berry was kind of middle of the road for us. Couldn't really taste the berry, just sweet. The waffle cones were freshly made in house and delicious.

Came here for dessert after we had dinner at Canadian Brewhouse. They had coffee crisp ice cream. We ordered 2 single scoops of that and the scooper there recommended double scoop to save money. That's customer service! Kids and I enjoyed the ice cream. Will definitely be back.
