How to Plan a Trip to Cannon Mountain in New Hampshire

"Located in Lincoln about 10 miles south of the mountain, this shop offers a good selection of off-mountain rentals for visitors who prefer not to use onsite rental inventory." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Don't let the size of you. Village ski has everything you need from skis snowboards, some soft goods and of course great service and tuning. They have a great selection from rental products all the way up to the highline ski. Definitely worth checking out and popping in if you're in the area. They're super friendly and ready to help with anything you need.

Nice little ski shop close to Loon Mountain. Great people guided me to another shop down the street to get my boots repaired (not a brand Village carried). Came back to have the bindings checked and service was very quick and much cheaper than the shop down the street. Would highly recommend.

Google
Village Ski & Snowboard is "The Source" for all things Telemark and AT anywhere near Lincoln, NH, south or north of The Notch. Demos, Rentals, Sales, Tunes & Repairs... I've trusted all my tele equipment needs through "Village" since 1995. Thx Always Gary and Crew!!

Went here to rent skis, refused to size my families feet. Sloppy and Lazy service. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

The kind of shop you want to rent from. Chill people, no hassles, just great gear and some local knowledge to put you on the right sticks for the conditions.

I’ve rented here before and had a great experience. Came back a couple years later with my own skis. My fiance called a couple days prior and asked if we could have our stuff waxed and edged the night of arrival and they said it would be no problem. After dropping them off, a couple hours later they were ready! Super quick service. In CT it takes 3-5 days. Super pleased and super affordable!

I tried them all, and Village Ski & Snowboarding was the best. They took the time to listen to my ski issue and found the best solution within my budget. The staff was incredibly professional and friendly—you can tell they are true experts who prioritize their customers above all else. I will definitely be back. Thank you so much for fixing my cross-country skis!

Google
Great prices. Half of what you will pay at the mountain. They get you in and out quickly. I recommend using their website for reservations. They'll have your gear ready for you when you walk in the door.

Yelp
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I rented a set of "sport" skis/boots for 3 days. On day one I twisted my knee and had to be rescued by ski patrol...who were great BTW. Village Ski refused to refund any of my rental even tho they were getting the equipment back 2 days early. At $50/day that's $100 they refused to refund. I've returned equipt early elsewhere (Whiteface, for poor weather) and received refunds for unused days. Should've rented for one day and just kept extending the rental. I'll def look at renting elsewhere next time.

Yelp
Been a customer for 25 years. Skis and snowboards tuned and repaired. Bottom work, edge work, and kid damage. Bought alpine gear. Rented skis and boards. Small shop and great people.

Yelp
I visited this shop from VA with my brand new skis (bought elsewhere online) for binding setting. we had high expectations from our phone call the evening prior. the young man i spoke with was very friendly and super helpful, told us to drop by in the am and they would happily take care of us. This was not the vibe we received when we arrived. upon entering the shop, we were not greeted by any staff. An older gentleman with glasses begrudgingly asked us what we needed. The interaction began with him criticizing me for buying skis online. He gave one word answers to all my questions , never making eye contact with me. Replied "I don't know" to several of my binding related questions. I felt he was reluctant to service my skis because I didn't buy them from a ski shop. He made the comment "why would you buy skis online?". he ultimately adjusted my bindings for a reasonable fee, however his customer service skills have much to be desired. my friend purchased a pair of ski socks and got the same chilly reception . we exited the shop without a "thank you" or "goodbye" . After this poor customer service we chose to go down the street to purchase our gloves and ski. regrettably will not be visiting this shop again and would not recommend you do either!

Yelp
I went into the shop in person specifically to find out about ski rentals for Christmas week. I was told that if I was renting for Monday, December 26, that I could come after three on Saturday, December 24 to pick up skis. When I called to double check on the reservation, I was told that I would be charged an extra day for Christmas day. It's not that I mind that, but wish that all the staff were fully aware of the policy so that I could've been given correct information.

Yelp
Awesome guys! Super ready to help even when you show up at 7:30 pm. Could not have been more pleased. They are open till 10 pm and so, so worth going. Very knowledgeable and prices are awesome!

Yelp
Perfect location right in the town before you hit Loon resort. My two friends who I invited got their rentals here (Skis, boots, ski poles, helmets). They had reserved information on boot size and skis they needed online, but not sure why that was necessary because they had to go through the whole process in person. It took more time than expected so plan for that or call beforehand to verify and pick up and go plan. Equipment was of great quality, staff was super nice and accommodating. Would recommend as a good choice for a rental ski shop. COVID safety conscious and definitely also cheaper than resort rentals.

Yelp
Stopped by to quickly get a rental on the way to Loon. Service was efficient and knowledgeable and they even gave us tips to reduce costs. Cost was 1/2 of what slope side charges and quality was better ! Returns were just as easy. Overall a very good experience!

Yelp
So great to have a place that rents AT and Tele gear! Trying the stuff out prior to buying is crucial. Jamie gave us helpful, low-pressure advice instead of a hard sell. The prices are right in the middle and totally fair for the level of service we got. I will definitely go back when it is time for a new pair of boots.

Yelp
I came to this shop based on a recommendation from a friend when I was looking to have a new set of skis mounted. They're one of the few AT focused shops in the area so I thought I was in good hands. I dropped off my skis in the evening to have my old bindings put on my new skis. They said it wouldn't be a problem and they they would be ready in the morning. Perfect. I show up the next day and the cashier admits that they "minorly made a minor mistake." I wasn't sure what he meant, but he eventually told me that they drilled through the entire ski when installing the bindings on my brand new, never before seen snow skis. Great. They apologized several times and mentioned they repaired the base so they should be good as new, albeit with a spot evident on the base of ski. They didn't offer a discount or anything else as in mind service and I ended up paying full price for a botched mounting job. To be fair, the skis are fine and I used them all last season, but to damage a customers property like that and only come out with an apology is a pretty big bummer. I'm not saying that I expect them to give me new skis, though some have told me that's what I should have demanded. Let's just say I'll be bringing my skis to a different shop.

Yelp
Premium rental goods in a premium location. Had the good fortune of finding Village Ski while Googling a specific pair of late-model Rossignol demo skis. Yup, they had 'em in stock, and called back at 7:30am to confirm that they'd put them aside. So far, so good. Store decor was pretty standard for ski shops - carpeted counter with way too much in terms of soft goods making navigation around the premises difficult. So it goes. The shock was the discovery that the premium demo skis ($700 skis/binding, minimum) were available for rent for TWENTY BUCKS (after online coupon) - $25 with boots and poles. With deals like that, it makes it very difficult to justify purchasing new skis. Or cross the street to get fleeced by the on-resort rental services which run in the $30s-40s range. That's right - Village is quite literally across the street from Loon's employee entrance. Save some cash and get better stuff that hasn't been ridden more than, well, other rentable entities. Additionally, stay tuned for the end-of-season demo sale. Usually lightly ridden (go rent one and see for yourself), current model year skis with excellent bindings can be had for significant discounts. Don't try ask to buy a set early - they're pretty strict about the sale date.

Yelp
Awesome place to rent your gear before you hit the slopes. My demo board (a $400 one) rented for 3 days for under $100. deal! I had brand new bindings put on, too. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. My husband had rented a snowboard as well but on the last day, he deiced to try ski, they let him switch, no problem. Place is small but when its busy, it will be tight. plenty of parking either around back or at the plaza next to it.

Yelp
I've rented skis from various places in the past few years, and this place has the best rates by far. I was very pleased with my demo ski package, and the staff was friendly. Tip: Go during non-peak hours since the space is small and there are only 1 or 2 employees.

Yelp
My wife and I just bought our second pairs of demo skis from them in their end-of-the-season demo sale. They are the best! Very good selection of the top skis of the year, well-informed, happy to take time to talk about the pros and cons of various skis, bindings, etc. The demo sale deals are incredible for practically brand new skis and bindings. If you are a telemark skier or looking to get into it or alpine touring, I think they are probably the top shop in New England. You owe it to yourself to check them out. Rent or buy from these guys, and you will definitely be pleased!

Yelp
Village ski shop is a throwback for sure Throwback to the days when great service, fair pricing, and honesty were the norm GARY and his crew are second to none Jeff is the best tech in the valley when it comes to tune ups and edges You won't be disappointed

Andy N.

Yelp
Top notch products and service. I've been skiing for more than 50 years and did not believe it was possible to have comfortable warm ski boots. Village Ski changed that for me. I've bought three pairs of warm comfortable ski boots from them. You should too!

Yelp
Very quick and inexpensive rental shop. I got Volkl Tigersharks and Salomon Quest 8 boots for $60 for 2 days! My girlfirends standard rentals were only $21 for 1 day. We used the online coupon form their website to get the good deals. It was a very friendly place and we totally reccommend it. Really cool typical small ski shop vibe. Rent there and not on-mountain for sure.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Creepy, unpleasant place. They overall just give the sense of being incompetent and too focused on weird personal agendas. Took way too long to get skis we wanted and even more of a hassle to get info we needed to finish the deal.

Jimmy B.

Yelp
Didn't end up having a good experience here. Disorganized reservation system and poor communications. Some of the employees seem like they've been told to act "friendly," but it goes about 1mm deep, and simple questions like "Is it possible to reserve a specific model boot?" elicited sullen, muddled responses. (f you've ever dealt with an unhappy teen, or seen the movie "Idiocracy," you'll know the behavior.) And the important part--renting the right skis--was just a major hassle all around. I think it's worth it to pay a little more, elsewhere, to deal with a more professional outfit.

Yelp
Loved this place. Came in with a group and they took care of us all with no problems. Customer service was fantastic, it was quick and fast, and they were extremely knowledgable (which is great because I know nothing about skis). Pricing for last minute holiday rentals was pretty well priced ($24), but my friend booked early and it was only $19. When we handed in our stuff they gave us a $5 coupon for our next time renting! Loved these guys, I'll definitely come back. Thank you!!

Bill M.

Yelp
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Price was 1/2 the fee charged on the mountain. As a novice (very novice) skier, I can tell you the staff could not have been more knowledgable, accommodating and friendly. They leverage technology to hasten the rental process, and returning the equipment after a great day of skiing could not have been easier. I recommend village ski and sport completely and without a reservation.
