Villas HM Palapas del Mar

Palapas del Mar is a lovely hotel with a relaxed vibe and its own beautiful beachfront—a definite highlight. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and ideal for unwinding. Our stay was comfortable, although the shower wasn’t working properly, which was a bit of an inconvenience. Hopefully, that’s something they can improve. We were on a breakfast-only basis, so we can’t comment on the full menu, but the breakfast was decent and did the job. A special mention goes to Mario, our waiter—he was a great guy and genuinely lovely to chat with. His warm and friendly service made our mornings even more enjoyable.

The most incredible trip from start to finish! The hotel is in a perfect location - not too far from the town but far enough away that it still feels quiet and peaceful. The rooms are very nice and well taken care of. Super comfortable bed. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and always made us feel very well taken care of. I only have the kindest words to say about this place and would 10/10 recommend it to others and plan to be coming back soon.

We've stayed in spring 2024 & 2025 and have not been disappointed in our choice of hotel. Its in the quieter section but still walkable to the heart of town. We do the breakfast only as we like to explore the islands restaurant options. Rooms are clean, maintained and grounds are lovely. New pool and restroom addition in 2025 is lovely. Plentiful chaise lounges with shade. There is some maintenance being done so there was some daytime construction noise but nothing that disturbed us. Highly recommend this hotel!

Everything and everyone at the hotel was incredible. The service was all smiles and kindness. Truly great people to interact with while we were there. And the hotel was like a tropical oasis. Clean, tranquil and nature vibes throughout. We went there with our 2 young kids (7yo, 9yo) and it hit all of our desires. Felt super safe, welcome and at home in this tranquil, beautiful hotel.

We had a lovely stay at Paraíso del Mar during our time in Holbox. One of the things we appreciated the most was the hotel's perfect location – right on the beach, with soft white sand just steps away.||The hotel has two swimming pools, which is a nice bonus if you want a break from the beach. Everything is kept clean and well-maintained, and you can tell the staff really puts effort into keeping the entire property tidy and pleasant.||Our room was quite basic put perfect for our stay and was located in one of the buildings toward the back of the domain, but it was still a peaceful spot. I think they started renovating some of the bungalows which will be a plus for the future.||Breakfast was just what we needed: a buffet with a nice variety of options according to Mexican standards – fresh fruit, eggs, bread, local dishes… Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Truly don’t have enough kind words to say about this place. It’s in a great location - close enough to town that it’s an easy walk but far enough away that it still feels private and peaceful. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were incredibly kind and friendly and really made us feel like we were home. Would 10/10 recommend to others and plan to be back soon!

This was a last minute trip. Greatly satisfied with the hotel and staff. Very quant. Some rooms have a private pool which we took advantage of. The food was good. There was not live noisy entertainment which we appreciated. We would revisit this hotel again.

This was our first time in holbox and we were so impressed with this hotel! The location was perfect and the beach was great. We got a couples massage through the hotel and it was so relaxing and only 30$ usd per person for a 50 minute massage. So so nice and we will definitely come back
