The Best Wine to Drink With Pastrami and Corned Beef

"I consider Santa Carolina ‘Herencia’ Carménère ($45) one of the best Carménères Chile has to offer: concentrated, intense aromas of dark fruits, cassis, savory baking spices, and herbal notes are all brewed into an inky, dark potion that’s definitely worth the price and feels like a steal compared with more famous grapes or regions." - Vanessa Price

If you publish opening hours on Google but don't make it clear that you're not open to the public without a reservation, you must expect 1-star reviews. And the security personnel are awful.

We went for a tour on Dia del Patrimonio Nacional. It was very nice to see the beautiful grounds and the old cellars. That's a recommended experience. It is very surprising in this largely industrial area. The second half was a bit frustrating. The store was packed but there was only one person working in it, despite the event and having lots of other employees around. Plus all the orders were done by hand. So obviously the line was long and slow. More annoying, we had asked if we could buy a bottle to drink on the patio. However, when I came out with the bottle to have it opened, another employee said that was never allowed. Anyhow, the tour was lovely but they were otherwise poorly prepared.

Great location. Great service. Downside is that they dont have vines at the property. Amazing landscape though

Never go there without any confirmed pre-booking, they are closed for walk-in visitors without any pre-booking - is not really an inviting place

Lovely experience, the guide was super nice and we were given a bottle of wine as gift :)

Pro's: The 3 wines we tasted were good, albeit 2 were a bit too acidic for my personal taste. The Family Reserve Cab Sauvignon was my favorite. Leonardo was great at teaching the guests who were new to tasting, describing the wines, and telling the story of Santa Carolina. The premises are 150 yrs old, with great character - fabulous place for a wedding or corporate event. We received a half bottle each as last of the tour. Con: We drove a rental car there. There was no sign on the road for the path to the tasting (one driveway was for employees only and the other had a gate down and no markings. We finally got the guard to let us in and park, but he would not let us go to the tasting until someone in the office said it was OK. We could see the chalk board for the meeting point, but the guard held us for 10 minutes, making us late for the tasting and giving us a very bad feeling about the place. Management needs to post signs at the road and establish a process for the guards to know who to let in...graciously! They could have a list of names to tick off. Guests could show a ticket on their phone. Something needs to be done immediately!

Not open for wine tasting. We had to call a number from the front gate in order to enter but no one answered. The security guards were not helpful and laughed at us when we asked about tours and tastings.
