Exceptionally nice hotel in a great location. Room was excellent and friendliness and helpfulness of staff was even better. Very relaxing place amidst all the hub-bub of Gaia and Porto tourism. ||Other excellent to superb things about the hotel:|| - Hotel is a quiet oasis directly next to the Dom Luis I bridge. I love its design/architecture which maximizes beautiful views of the Douro and Porto while minimizing noise from the crowds and trams that run across the bridge.|| - The breakfast offers everything you could want, in great quality and quantity. They even took notice of my husband’s birthday from when we registered and surprised us with a special dessert. || - The hotel is built into the hillside. It allows you to access the upper area of Gaia and the top level of the bridge or take the elevator down to the first floor and exit the hotel very close to the Gaia waterfront where the port houses are. || - The hotel, including our room, was exceptionally clean. Daily housekeeping was excellent. ||The (very few) things about the hotel that were less than excellent:|| - Parking is available, but getting in and out of the garage is a small challenge. The bellman offered to help us get the car into the garage when we checked in. I declined (of course, because I think I am the world’s greatest driver). After 1 pass by the narrow garage entrance, I went back to take the bellman up on his offer. He was wonderful and helped me get into the garage without incident. || - The size of our room was a little tight. (But still very comfortable.)|| - The WiFi signal in our room (901) was weak and would periodically drop out. I suspect this problem is a matter of which room you have because I didn’t have any WiFi issues in other areas of the hotel. ||We stayed at the Vincci for 5 days during a 3 week trip. It was by far the nicest stay. We loved it here and would stay here again.
