"Despite its unconventional approach to, well, everything—the drink menu is called “grass-to-glass,” and the “earth-to-table” dishes have names like Dirty Candy—Vine is regularly hailed as the best dining experience on the island . It feels like a risk, but you're assured fairly early into the meal (probably around the time you're tasting that beet cobbler-cum-caprese tower with the funny name) that it's one you're right to take.  Brush aside any skepticism and order the Blackberry Lavender Martini. There are plenty of serious (and seriously good) dishes to try, too, like a silky black truffle linguine and tender crispy duck. Given the playfulness and whimsy of the menu, it makes sense that servers have an equally ribald senses of humor. Watch them try to indulge the diners who don’t quite get the joke—it's dinner and a show." - Paul Oswell

Absolutely delightful!! Our friends chose the scallops with lobster stuffed ravioli, my husband had the lobster stuffed ravioli, and I opted for the butter fish. Out of all of them, mine lacked, but was still ok. We love the environment and atmosphere here, as well as the s as attentive staff ! But, we always enjoy the entrees, appetizers, and the wonderful wine list!! I highly recommend visiting Vine when on the island!

When my husband and I return to HHI, it won't be because of the beaches or the scenery or the shopping. It will be because we cannot wait to return to this restaurant. Chef Olivier and the staff at Vine craft a delightful experience from start to finish. The wild mushroom soup was the most flavorful soup I've ever eaten. The caprese salad is fresh and balanced, and the crystallized rose petals put it over the top. The osso bucco is savory and fall off the bone tender, and the black truffle linguini is as good as any pasta we ate while traveling through Italy. Do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful restaurant, and make sure you get the bacon sundae. Any dessert that has an entire book written about it is worth eating ❤

Style over Substance This place is quaint and romantic with very friendly wait staff. There are many interesting presentations, however the food just needed more..... We started the evening with the SC mixed greens and the caprese tower salads. The mixed greens were as expected. The caprese salad was presented tableside with a dried sugar basil crumble spooned over the top and some fresh Himalayan salt grated over the top. Very visually pleasing, however left an artificial sweetness to the salad. Next the server brought out a peach, mango and pomegranate palate cleanser which was ok. For our main dish we ordered the snapper special and the crispy duck. The snapper was beautifully presented over jasmine rice with a mango chutney and fresh mango sauce. The fish itself was good, however the mango sauce was not fresh and gave a frozen drink taste to the fish and rice. The crispy duck was also quite a sight when it was flambéed table side. The sauce it was served with was good, however there was way too much of it so it overpowered the juicy duck. We didn't stay for dessert due to a slight mix up (on our part) but the ones on the other tables looked good. All in all, I think I'd try this again. The wait staff was great and the bread + balsamic vinegar dip was excellent.

Enjoy fresh, inventive food in a cozy atmosphere. Complete with all of your Rat Pack favorites serenading your meal! Our dinner consisted of two of the chef's specials: Beet Salad w/ Goat Cheese Fritter in a Strawberry Balsamic Reduction; Wild Boar Paté. Our mains were: Miso Butterfish & the Duck Flambé - served tableside.

I come here with my wife regularly and always love this quiet little spot! The staff and owner are incredibly nice and always go the extra mile for us. They heard we were celebrating something tonight when we were talking amongst ourselves and all the sudden they had specialty drinks for us! It made our night feel extra special and on top of it the food was outstanding! Thanks Vine for always going above and beyond!

Must visit when in Hilton head. I must say that when I read some of these reviews which were really old. I was skeptical. The owner/ chef was so generous and got us in on our 27th Anniversary. Food was delicious and fresh. Travis our sever was excellent and also gave us some tips on what to do since he is a local. It’s a little cute restaurant and seating is limited so make reservations asap. You will love it!

We had a great experience at Vine. We walked in without a reservation at 8:30 on a Saturday night and got a table. The restaurant was busy and the staff was working very hard. We ordered a bottle of wine - the sangiovese which was delicious. The servers were very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions about the menu. We ordered the mushroom tart to start and it was awesome. Then we had the pear and gorgonzola ravioli. Didn't get a lot of pear, but it was delicious! They brought freshly baked bread with balsamic and olive oil - also delicious. Very good experience!

We’ve gone to Vine on our annual trips for years, and it’s always been a wonderful experience. Tonight, however, was terrible. Our waitress (who we have had several times over the years) greeted us right away and took drink orders. It took a long time to place dinner orders and a long time before the food came. It was underwhelming, and one of our group of 12 didn’t get his meal. We pointed that out and, eventually, the meal came out, but the ravioli was cold in the middle. We informed the waitress of that, and she didn’t seem surprised, but took the plate back. A minute later, I think we saw the long term waitress walk out, later followed by the male employee on site. Then, nothing. After a while, we went inside (we were seated outside), there was nobody in the kitchen. Apparently, Vine doesn’t have a chef .
