Absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had the pounded pork with vinegar was one of the most outstanding dishes ever. The Radicchio and pasta with red sauce will make any pasta lover Happy. The owner and staff are amazing. You must go here!

We were welcomed by the loveliest owner and founder of the restaurant. The pork chop was so unique, very flavourful and the eggplant dish was very appetising, perfect to start your meal with. Both vinegary flavors. Wish we could try more dishes but the pork chop was massive! My family and I had a great time here, thanks for the recommendation Phil!

A truly amazing experience! This restaurant is a must try destination. The food is simply sublime, the atmosphere is authentic and steeped in the history you would expect from somewhere that has been operating for over 52years. A warm friendly place that prides itself on not serving fish, and serves top quality meat cooked to perfection. The pork chop with vinegar is a go to for most (including me) and the fillet steak is also a winner. Do yourself a favour and book a table!

Definitely gave us a memory for a very "local experience" in Venice! The foods were prepared in a very unique way; they make use of very good vinegars and ingredients! Not a kind of easy tasting foods to please tourists, but a very authentic taste. The shop was cozy and the staffs were extremely friendly. We talked and laughed like old friends even though this is our very first visit! He even gave us the list of recommendations for good local restaurants in town! The owner, wearing a beautiful red shirt and white pants, was old but still worked very efficiently. The legendary pork chop was served in quite a big portion, we couldnt finish. But the chef asked us pack it back to eat the next day, saying it gets better and better the next day. It was a sweet memory and we will definitely return on our next trip!

Like many others, I first heard about Da Arturo on Somebody Feed Phil. Last time i was in Venice i was unable to come, but we decided to come this time and booked well in advance ( i would highly recommend this). We booked for 7pm and were the very first guests. We were met by the owner and manager, and looked after right away. You can tell they are very proud of their little restaurant, and when you taste the food you can see why. The Salads were tasty and fresh. We ordera a pasta dish and it was also very flavourful. But unsurprisingly, the star of the show was the Pork Chop. Even though i knew there was going to be a kick of vinegar i wasnt quite ready for it. Yes, it is expensive, but its definitely something to share between a couple, along with a pasta dish. Food was wonderful, and if i had to criticise anything it would be that maybe a little quiet music would be nice in the background. When we were the first table of the night it would have maybe been nice to have something in the background. But overall, i loved it. I will be back - if even for the just the Pork Chop!

We came here after watching Somebody Feed Phil. We ordered the famous pork chop or the Braciola all'Arturo and it was huge! It was very unique. I never had pork chop with vinegar before and it was interesting. Recommend the Straccetti di filleto alla rucola and the eggplant dish. So good. It was a pricey meal but it was worth to try. The place is very small and homey style so do call to make reservations.

Google
Amazing pork chop and bolognese. Very authentic and first evening meal in Venice. Owners clearly very passionate about their restaurant and showed us photos of famous guests. Pork chop so big that we had to bag it up and take it back to the apartment. Wonderful. Most expensive meal of our Venice stop but worth it for the experience.

A true gem in the heart of Venice! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with an atmosphere that feels both authentic and inviting. The service is exceptional—warm, attentive, and eager to share their knowledge of the menu. Every dish is crafted with care, but the radicchio pasta is an absolute standout—rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, this restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Came here as it was featured on the Netflix show "Somebody feeds Phil". It is a small restaurant near St. Marco's square. Very intimate. We went for lunch. They are open for lunch from 12-2:30. My husband tried their famous pork cutlet dish. Braciola ALL Arturo. It is very large, enough for 2 people to share. I ordered the Pappardelle Radicchio. The pasta was delicious! It had a nice flavor and was our servers favorite dish. The pork chop was thin and had a nice evenly breaded crust. The taste is yummy. There is a vinegary taste which is pleasing. We also ordered a side of potatoes which came with fresh rosemary. I had a glass of Vino for $10. It was a nice glass of Merlot. Arturo was there and we were able to get a picture with him. Our server was very friendly. We chatted a bit and he recommended a great gelato spot called "gallonetto". If you are visiting Venice be sure to stop by. Fun fact- Same menu for 50 years!

Yelp
I'm very happy to have had the opportunity to eat at this restaurant ! I've watched an amazing review about this restaurant , thanks to the Netflix series, Somebody feed Phil, who only entice me wanting a piece of the famous pork chop ! This restaurant was very welcoming and warm , it's a family business and that's exactly how I felt sitting in this restaurant ! Of course we had the pork chop which was amazing to say the least , all our food was delicious and plentiful!

Yelp
A definite gem in Venice. I'm not necessarily the first one to voice this fact out, but it is worth stating. The service was bar none the best/ very warm and welcoming plus the fact they are celebrities themselves. The ambiance is true to form with old charms. The food cannot get any more accolades. The Braciola di Arturo definitively is one of a kind in the world only to be experienced here.

Yelp
Arturo's does not suffer fame. Despite the famous guests, forays to LA, and feeding Phil, they still serve a damn good meal and do it like your grandmother would, with kind, prompt attention. Food comes out fast, which is great when you decide you have to try the third pasta dish to see if it's just as good as the first two! The hammered pork had us Austrians a bit nervous, it was so good. And huge!! The ambience- cozy as cozy gets, so be sure to make a reservation!

Yelp
We stopped in at the very end of lunch and had the most amazing food! The steak with green pepper sauce and the pork chop are a must. Best meal we had in Venice by far!! We also had a wonderful experience meeting the team and learning all about their special guests over the years including many Hollywood stars. We felt welcome and truly enjoyed our visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Go here only if you are Hollywood personality. Not to value for money patronage or worth the screaming.....in culinary skills food, only if you love vinegar taste on your breaded 1kg pork chop. No recommended on the prepared in advance salad unless you want to pay €20 for 100g. But I give 3stars to the spicy pasta which was very fragrant on using the right pepper. Service is friendly but ..............snobby because they serve the Hollywood stars.

Yelp
You must visit when in Venice!! Food was absolutely mouth-watering . Just love this quaint place in San Marco. Benjamin is very hospitable and will recommend the best dishes but you must order Braciolla all'Arturo! Enjoy!!!

Yelp
Our absolute, hands down, favorite restaurant to eat at in Venice, Italy. Small and quaint. Very local feel with big flavors and a wonderful staff. I felt like I was in the Old Country at my Nona's house. The radicchio Pappardelle is my favorite dish.

Yelp
Hands down the meal of our Italy trip to Venice, Florence, and Rome. Make sure to make reservations as they are a tiny restaurant and are constantly turning people away. We tried to walk in on our 1st night in Venice, but we're turned away because they were booked solid for the night. Luckily we were able to snag a reservation for 2 days later. The hosts are amazingly friendly talking to us for a good 5 min as we were the 1st table of the night. As other people walked in for dinner they were greeted as old friends as some of them were, while we were told another table was dining there for the 3rd straight night! We shared an order of the bolognese and an order of the star dish of the restaurant, the Braciola all'Arturo. It did not disappoint! The fried pork chop definitely stole the show, and I sat there determined to finish every piece of it. Go here for the best dinner in Venice!

Yelp
Lives up to the hype. Venice has some of the weakest food in Italy... but it is still better than most of what we get in the US. This place is great not just against other local places but again all over Italy. Bolognese, eggplant, and the famous pork chop were all epic. Go. Here.

Yelp
Following earlier Yelp reviews we found this great small restaurant. First, I rarely give five stars as I reserve that for places that have both outstanding food and great service. We arrived shortly after evening opening and upon stepping in were greeted by Arturo, the owner. As I looked around I could see reserved signs on every table, so prepared myself for disappointment. After we replied in the negative to his question of a reservation, my wife smiled sweetly and he grabbed one of the cards off a table for two and doubled it up on another table and seated us. This was our first night in Venice and so we were prepared for high prices and Arturo did not disappoint. We started off with tagliatelle with radichio, which sounds a strange combination but was great. The pasta was perfect in every way and the sauce light and flavorful, the whole dusted with a little parm. We didn't want to eat heavily since we were fading fast after an overnight over-the-pole flight from Vancouver so we decided to order a single main. After discussing the options after a fashion with Arturo we opted for what was described as a "breaded pork chop finished in vinegar." I expect a pork chop to be a moderate size piece of meat, so we were astounded when the dish arrived on a platter and was the size of a medium pizza! The waiter proceeded to cut it into about ten pieces. There was no sauce but the breading was redolent of vinegar, the pork was amazingly tender and the whole mouthful delicious. Be warned, this is a dish that could easily be shared by four if it was accompanied by something else. We tried hard, but only managed to eat about 2/3s of it. Arturo have us a sly little smile when we commented on the size. We finished off by sharing a panna cotta. It came unadorned but needed no accompaniment. I think access to unpasteurized high-fat content cream must make the difference. It was smooth, silky, and tasted of dairy. Just a touch of sweetness made it a perfect finish to our meal. With wine, water and service our meal was about 120 Euros. Expensive, yup, but worth it! If you can, make a reservation, but parties of two seem to sneak in early as we and another couple did.

Yelp
Best meal in Venice, an island of mediocre food at top dollar prices. This restaurant is authentic and unwavering. All their dishes seemed excellent and sincere. The pork chop lived up to the hype and was the best I've had. Other dishes served around me looked great, I almost felt remiss ordering that huge chop as I will have to wait til my next trip to try more of their dishes.

Yelp
We loved this place! It's a bit hard to find but I made sure to change the name and address on here, with exact info. You must get the eggplant appetizer, just do it. We ordered three pasta dishes to come out one at a time to share. We got the radicchio pasta first: it was like eating pasta w spinach, it was good but not amazing. Then we got the spaghetti Bolognese: i thought it was ok the hubs liked it the best, then we got the gorgonzola pasta and that was my fave of all. But I love that we got three and had it served like that. Then we ordered tiramisu and chocolate mousse. I liked the tiramisu, I'm not a hug chocolate fan but if you like mousse you'll like it. This is a small restaurant I think it holds like 9-10 tables, so make a reservation. The other good part that made dinner good was that it's ran by three guys, owner of the past 46 years, another guy/chef who's been there for 40 years and the host who's been with them for I think 18 years. They were all so sweet, nice and welcoming. They told us the whole menu in English, and told us about their story. There was a couple next to us who apparently come to Venice every year for one week and visit them every night and get the same thing daily. Also we found out that for the past 10 years They have been flown to USA by Joel Silver to cook for him and other celebrity friends. This place was the most expensive place we've Been to in Italy. Each pasta dish is €20, appetizers I think we're 15-19€. The main dishes were 30-about 50€. Dessert was about €12avrg. One appetizer, 3 pasta dishes, 2 dessert, one bottle of wine, one bottle of water was €153, so about $173usd. It was worth it. What I learned in Venice: the smaller the restaurant the better.

Yelp
Overrated. Spaghetti pomodoro was undercooked, with a chalky texture. Papardelle bolognese was fine, but the sauce was thin, and severely lacking in meat. Service was a little strange. The person handling our table couldn't be bothered to mention any recommendations or specialties of the house (he simply listed off the choices at a rapid pace). At the conclusion of our meal, however, he became super chatty and outgoing. As a family of four (with two small children), we were also put off by having to pay a 5 euro cover charge per person (totaling 20 euro) on a 40 euro lunch. If the food were as spectacular as the previous reviews implied, we would have gotten over it. If you're in Venice, run, don't walk to Osteria Oliva Nera. The meal we had there was spectacular. If anything, that place is actually underrated on Yelp with a 4.5 star rating.

Yelp
FANTASTIC & probably the ONLY place in Venice that does not serve fish!!! I'm crying tears of joy lol. I don't like seafood so this is a real gem haha. My bf and I both had variations of the filet and it was awesome. Perfectly cooked and great quality. Ordered the potatoes as a side and they were very good as well - great dipped into the sauces from our filet. Small place near the opera (that's actually how we stumbled upon it. Walking by we looked at the menu and two different parties came out at that time just raving about it so we decided to go for it) Nice, friendly service. Apparently they have a celebrity fan base as well. ONE THING - the address they have listed for this place is incorrect so it is very difficult to find. We had just stumbled upon it but when we tried to go back the next night it was difficult using any type of GPS - we ended up going back to the opera house and retracing our steps to find it. There's also no sign or anything for it so you have to look for the menu with the name on it. It's posted on the window. Also - as I mentioned the filets were perfectly cooked. We both ordered medium rare but as so many places over cook I always expect something a little closer to medium. This was a TRUE medium rare so a few parts for me were a little TOO rare for my taste. Not the fault of the restaurant at all! They gave me exactly what I asked for. I just wanted to make that little note in case you're like me. Friendly and personable staff but don't expect them to remember you next time haha. We came in the next night and it was like we had never been there lol. I'm sure they see a lot of faces every day. I didn't think much of it but my bf thought it very strange that they did not remember us in the slightest since we had talked with the guy for like an hour haha.

Yelp
A. Mazing. Incredible food, great service, nice hospitality. The stroganoff was like nothing I've ever tasted! Just the right amount of spice. Ask to thumb through their photo album of all the celebrities they've met! Tough to find this hole in the wall, but totally worth every wrong turn!

Yelp
Phil Rosenthal was right about this place. It was such a fun experience. It was so quiet and intimate when we first got there, and slowly filled up with friendly people. We had to get the pork chop. The vinegar flavor was a bit strong for me but I still enjoyed it, and my wife absolutely loved it. This restaurant may have been the highlight of our trip to Italy.

Yelp
I am in utter disbelief I have been in San Marco for 1 week saving last night (7/15/21) for the best reviewed Yelp recommended restaurant in San Marco. We/family of 4, son 30, daughter 19, wife and myself, could not of been more disappointed with our meal. I was not going to bother with commenting on the dinner, but after spending $204.00 euros, I had to share with my fellow travelers. The picture presents on the website a schnitzel so I ordered 1 veal schnitzel for the table. The owner suggested 2. This dish was covered in vinegar where we could not taste the over cooked veal. The first bite as also witnessed by the adjacent table took your breadth away, as too much vinegar will do. The table next to us had ordered 2 schnitzels for the family of 4, less than half was consumed and the wife and daughter left early. He also suggested a eggplant appetiser that was marinated for 1 week. This was average at best. He also suggested the sliced fillet, the dish consisted of arugula and thinly sliced small bites of a filet that was over cooked, but we were able to finish, too hungry. My wife is a vegetarian so they were kind enough to bring a artichoke heart, marinated mushrooms and green beans, these were all precooked and reheated. We drank 2 glasses of house wine and 2 bottles of water. Value wise the most expensive restaurant that we visited in Venice, every lunch and dinner were eaten in Yelp recommended venues. I have always stated that if you are happy with a purchase you will not remember what you paid for it. I will remember this restaurant forever as it was terrible and terribly expensive for the most unpleasant experience. The owner boasted about his celebrity following which I could not understand. There were a total of 22 reviews with a rating of 5 stars. The lesson here is only visit restaurants with more reviews not impacted by friends and family. DON'T BE FOOLED. Too many good restaurants in the area enjoy!

Yelp
This restaurant was one of my highlights in Venice, we were sold when we saw a restaurant that did not serve fish. The restaurant was small and the first night we tried to get in, I am not sure if it was booked or if we were to early (my husband tried) so we went back so I could make a reservation for the following night and I am so glad we did. The staff was incredible and attentive, prices seemed high by Italian standards but what I would expect to pay for a nice dinner out so I was happy with prices. The food was amazing. My spaghetti alla siciliana (a spicy vegetarian dish) has melt in your mouth egg plant, the menu was small but quality, and we shared two deserts. The chocolate mousse was heavenly and the tiramisu was not traditional as it was more of a cream, but the flavor was excellent. My husband and I both loved the experience of this Venice gem!

Yelp
WOW. This is THE place to go in Venice. Forgot the Gondola ride- save your Euros for one of the best meals you will have. We were able to get in for lunch and had the pork chop. Watch "Somebody Feed Phil" Season 2 Episode 1 to see how this is made. Words cannot describe the food. We along with another couple had the place to ourselves. Huni (?) and Da Arturo spent a few mins talking with us and explaining how the place started and about their loyal customers here in Venice and in LA. These are two of the kindness, down to earth people you could possibly meet. Superb pasta and a new egg plant dish in addition to the great two bottles of wine. Huni even help us find our apartment after we got lost. Our apartment was only a 3 min walk. Perhaps it was the wine, the meal or Venice. This is a bucket list item.

Yelp
If you only can eat one meal in Venice - eat here. The pork chop and salads and pasta (I don't even know what the pasta is called as they just made it for me) are all excellent... also the people who run this restaurant are fantastic and caring people who put their hearts into the food. This culinary team goes to Los Angeles every year to do award season dinners for A list celebs. If you have the chance to meet and eat at this wonderful place - you have been blessed.

Yelp
Soooooo yummy, quaint and cute. Food was awesome rapini tagliatelle is bomb. Waiter is amazing and great with kids. Eggplant starter is delish. Worth getting lost in all the alleys to find it ha ha.

Yelp
This is the first time I've ever reviewed a place on Yelp. The food was so amazing I had to comment. It's a tiny place tucked away near San Marco plaza. The service was impeccable and I've never had better pasta, and that's really saying something, because I've eaten a lot of pasta.

Gregg T.

Yelp
Awesome. The Pork Chop was massive and the eggplant delicious. Only the ambience was more enjoyable than the food
google avatar

Jim N.

Yelp
Was walking through Venice and popped in here because of the great rating it had and I have to say this place definitely didn't disappoint. The service was awesome and the food was incredible! It's really small and appears to be a 3 man team. The gentleman who helped us said they've worked together for over 30 years and have kept the menu the same, but when you have something that good going there's no reason to change. Definitely look forward to coming back here on the next visit back to Venice.

Michael R.

Yelp
Not worth the trip. Don't waste your time. Flew all the way over from the US, Washington state to try their food. Owner told me to leave as soon as I walked into the restaurant. Wouldn't serve someone eating alone he said. I guess you don't like business. If a customer is interested in paying for your food and you don't want it, you don't deserve to be open and serving customers. It's not like it was busy either, it was 8 pm and only 1 table was occupied. Bad business attitude.
google avatar

Yelp
Most amazing place. We went their as our final meal on our tour of Italy. After Rome, Florence and various places in Venice this was the best place. If you like old school, the original owner still hosting, waiting and cooking. This is it. Get the pork chop.

Windy City Runner T.

Yelp
We had the BEST time here! Hani, the waiter is captivating, engaging, and fun. Ernesto, the owner, is lovely. The food was amazing. We wish he had more time to start dinner over. Go. Do yourself a favor.

Yelp
The Place for Meat in Venice! Mirko, a bartender at our hotel The Gritti Palace, recommended this restaurant as a alternate from the seafood-centric offerings of Venice as well as to experience a true local feel. When we arrived, we were warming greeted by the host Ernesto who recommended veal and beef dishes for us. As being more familiar with beef, I chose that. He served a huge, juicy steak which was prepared with the most delectable sauce! This restaurant also caters dinners in Los Angeles during the Academy Awards festivities and had many photographs on display taken during their outing, including that of Barbara Streisand, Tom Ford, J Lo and the Kardashians! Definitely worth a repeat visit! Thank you Ernesto and Arturo for a fabulous and memorable evening!

Cathy Y.

Yelp
We finally returned to Venice after 21 years for the purpose to once again dine at Vini da Arturo. Ernesto and Hani have created a wonderful dining experience and happily the menu has pretty much stayed the same all these years. The delicious appetizers, amazing small salad dishes, the tasty pastas, scrumptious meat dishes and memorable desserts were as we remembered, how often does that happen? Can't wait to get back!
