The indoor area was infested with flies. Not just a few, but a full-blown insect convention. At that time there were no outdoor seats available—fine. We decided to order takeaway. 15 minutes later, outdoor seats opened up. I asked a male waiter and got permission to sit there. Yet suddenly, a woman stormed over, shouting at us to leave. When I calmly explained that I had already asked for permission, she cut me off and barked: “I’m the boss!” and kicked us out.
Look, I fully respect a business’s rules. But if the owner had shown her true colors before taking our money, we would’ve left and never come back. What a win-win that would’ve been 😊
And by the way, food was painfully average. Definitely not worth the street-shouting drama. They somehow managed to make fish and chips worse than in the UK—which, frankly, should be impossible.
P.S. Just genuinely curious—are takeaway customers not worthy of cutlery? Knives only for dine-in? Are we supposed to cut octopus with our bare hands or what? Again, would’ve been great to know in advance. It’s not like we have to eat their food 😊
