The absolute best!!! Alexandra, the General Manager, has put together an incredible team. They are hospitality driven and knowledgeable. Each staff member shows off their staff picks. The spring bingo game has been a lot fun and I have tried a lot of fantastic wines. This is my go to spot and I can’t recommend them enough. The image is of a Riesling that was suggested to me by Matt and I’ve come back to get it multiple times. One of my favorite Riesling’s thanks to the staff suggestion. Take the staff’s suggestions!!! The staff is phenomenal.

the type of shop where i believe everyone can find something. a number of price points. old world, new world. pinks, oranges and liqueurs to boot. the staff is warm and engaging mostly, asking questions like what one is in the mood for rather than “red or white?”, which honestly the shop is too expansive for. also i think the bingo is a fun touch. a great local shop.

dropped in to buy a wine key because mine had broken and they had cheap six dollar wine keys (that feel like good quality) with a 15% discount because I work in the industry. It can’t get any better than that.

On our trip to NYC we decided to get a bottle of wine to drink on the balcony of our hotel. After dinner we walked to the address we got online. We couldn't find Vino there so we called and discovered it was their old location. We explained we were on our way to their new location and hoped we could get there before they closed. They said they would wait for us. Super nice guys and very helpful and knowledgeable. Recommended a big red blend that was fantastic! Even had some glasses and an opener. Perfect end to a great day!

This little nice shop has such a variety that I end up getting everything from beers to wines and aperitifs. The service is quick and the place very clean. I'm sorry the dude in front of me was upset about something else and I didn't feel the same way. I'm going back to the same place over and over, it's definitely a must in NYC.

Fantastic selection of wines from all over. All sorts of price points and organized very easily if you're looking for something and short on time. Helpful and knowledgable staff make this a perfect wine shop to check out if you're planning to eat at some of the awesome BYOB Indian spots nearby - if you go to Bhatti Indian Grill about 4 shops down they'll give you a 10% off card to use here, yay!

They were the only place near me that carried Overholt but I'm glad I found this place because they have a great selection of wines, and a decent offering of liquors as well. Service was friendly and offered help when I got there but left me to browse which I like. The space is nice and very tasteful, dark wood, displays were neatly arranged, felt like a more upscale wine/liquor store. Decent prices, not the cheapest in the area but given the convenience and solid selection, worth it. Will come back for the wines.

Awesome local wine store. They have great selection of well curated wines at reasonable price points. I walked out with some affordable Prosecco to make aperol spritzes, a mid tier sparkling rose cremant and a bottle of aperol. Can't ask for anything more. Lots of friendly staff to help. They also have an awesome $10 bottle of vinho Verde and great selection of Italian reds.

One awesome thing about starting a new job is exploring a new neighborhood, and so far, Vino is the best find in my new 'hood. Everyone is so friendly, and the multiple wine tastings are really a treat. In fact, you can go to the back and try ~10 wines before purchasing. At. any. time. Where else can you do this? They layout is simple but not boring. Prices are medium. The people who work here are experts and are really invested in their customers.

Armed with a LevelUp City pass credit here, I skipped the Yelp checkin offer and went with a pear hard cider from the 'sale' display near the front. Note there's a storage area behind the tasting table and your being unwelcome isn't really evident until you're in it. The 2 cool pups add to the experience, and the nice enough guys were in discussions with a supplier while they rang me up, not really acknowledging me after I entered other than to accept the payment and continue with their issue. My friend lives around here, so we bought some champagne here before his NYE party. There seemed to be some wine tasting thing going on inside this small store, so it cut off a lot of the foot space inside. One of the workers gave us a good recommendation on a cheaper and tastier bubbly than the one we were intending to buy, so that was a plus. Good place if you need some wine and spirits near 28th St (very close to the 6 train 28th St stop).

If I could give less than one star I would. The staff charged our card twice and refused to refund us. We ultimately confronted them and they made us take it up with the credit card company rather than be decent. Definitely do not recommend doing business with them. Be warned if they seem shady at the register.

They shipped my wine in 90 degree weather. They don't even think about the conditions. They don't care. Never again will I waste my money.

Great selection of spirits and wine, and the staff is super friendly. Came here to buy tequila for an office Secret Santa, and they had a ton available. Great bourbon and Scotch selection as well, including hard to find Japanese whiskey!

Let me start by saying I never review anything.... To be honest i cant stand the concept but this place deserves it and much much more. 5 STARS BABY. I will never set foot in another liquor store again. This place not only has the best selection i have found, it has a great team of knowledgeable and fun people which keep me coming back. Fantastic place! I stopped by tonight desperately in search of a nice bottle of wine for a gift for a distant relative I'm seeing tomorrow. I told the guy working there about my price range, types of wine I liked, and he was very knowledgable about the wines they carried that fit my criteria. Not just about the different qualities of the wine, but about the origin of the grapes and regions and blends as well. The price point of most of the wines they carry was lower than I expected ($15-20 range), perfect for my budget. They also carried a number of much higher end wines, but a somewhat limited selection in the $30-50 range. MOST IMPORTANTLY, they are getting ENOMATIC WINE MACHINES NEXT WEEK! Wine machines that dispense varying amounts of wine to be sampled in the store?!? Greatest. Concept. Ever. Invented. I will definitely be visiting this place on the reg.

Outstanding selection sources from distributors and growers you won't see in every smal shop in New York, especially Italian wines. I picked up a Negroamaro/Primitivo mix that made a nice Thanksgiving table wine. Staff is very helpful and they have weekly tastings. I you just need some table wine it's not the cheapest place, but for a quality bottle they are great.

I really like this store. I think the selection of wines (used to be all Italian, but they have recently added wines from around the world) and spirits (not just Italian anymore either) is excellent. Of course, their forte is still Italian wines and they have every varietal imaginable. Even if you don't know a single thing about Italian wines, they will guide you to a perfect bottle. The prices vary, but I generally walk away with a great bottle for under $15 (sometimes I splurge and go over $15 and out of my comfort zone-and I have always been incredibly surprised). Also, the staff is extremely helpful and down to earth. I'll admit the first time I walked in the store I was a little intimidated by the elegance, but don't let that stop you - there really is something for everyone here and the staff will make sure you leave the store happy with your purchase. While Astor Wines was my usual go-to spot when I lived in the East Village, I am now equidistant to Astor and Vino, and when it comes to wine specifically, I spend an equal amount of time visiting each. Ps. They also have free tastings all the time which is a plus in my book. And they also offer classes-all of which seem really interesting and reasonably priced at around $45.

Been coming here for a while but the place is under new ownership now. Holy moly is it different! Wine tasting BEFORE you buy? Yes please. Super reasonably priced bottles of great wine? You bet. They also now have an amazing liquor selection. Not just your old standbys, but some new stuff I am going to have to try. As usual the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I might have to actually just move in here.

Visiting friends in Manhattan this weekend. Needed a nice bottle of wine for dinner, remembered I had been to this store before and was quite impressed. Well, second visit was just what I could have hoped for. I am not a wine person at all and the staff seemed knowledgeable and patient. I told them what I was looking for and what I was willing to spend. Long story short, I walked out with two bottles of Rioja and they were a hit at dinner. I told my friends about the store and they all plan to check it out as they are always looking for stores that really know what their doing. Check it out... wont be disappointed.

The wines were amazing, and a huge selection including a Croatian wine (which is impossible to find because they cannot import Croatian wine into the states) and a maple whiskey (it was so good, they sold out!). The Mega Wine Tasting was $10/person for unlimited wine tasting for 3 hours... BUT if you bought 2 bottles, you got your $10 back! It was an amazing deal. With so many excellent wines, I don't think anybody walked out of there without at least 2 bottles. We (believe it or not) ended up buying 12 bottles of wine, which meant an additional 10% off! If you spend more than $100, you get free delivery within their zone. Since were were just out of the delivery zone, it cost $5 for delivery, which is a pretty good deal, all considered. One other plus is that the owner has two adorably friendly dogs that often hang out in the shop. I always enjoy seeing a happy dog while tasting wine! :)

Owned by the same people as i Trulli across the street, Vino is one of several specialty Italian wine merchants I've found in the city. Their selection is not overwhelming. Instead they pick a few of each varietal from the wine-producing regions in Italy, most of which seem to be represented. Many of the wines are difficult to find in the States. In fact, they do much of their own importing. For a gift or a fun experience, consider the wine tasting courses they offer, roughly every other week. About a month ago, I went to one with my girlfriend on Italian wine and cheese pairings. I have to say I didn't much care for the wines we tasted, but the cheeses were fantastic! I suppose not liking the wines wasn't a bad thing as I hadn't tried most of the varieties before. Better to spend a little money to find out what you don't like than wasting the money on a bottle. The course was taught by one of the proprieters of the business. We gained a lot of helpful knowledge of Italian wines and cheeses, but it would have been a bit better if there was more interaction between the students. After the tasting, we took advantage of the 10% discount that you get at i Trulli if you do a tasting. It was very good and I'd write a full review, but my memory of the dining experience is a bit hazy. It's hard to focus on dinner after a wine tasting and a full plate of cheese.

The one thing I want from a wine shop is a selection of wines I know and like and staff that can recommend other wines based on my preference. Vino scores on both fronts. For month's I have had a continuing conversation with one of the guys there about Spanish wine, he really knows his stuff, we have had great conversations about what we like and what wines goes well with what foods. Turns out, he's the owner, Adam. Love it. This place is the real deal and they deliver! There is almost always a wine tasting going on too.

Vino is somewhat vexing, due to their Italian specialization. This is not an area that's overly saturated with liquor stores and wine shops. Frequently, I find myself in need of something French (whether it's a Champagne or Burgundy), and Vino's admittedly well-chosen Italian selection doesn't cut it for me. They stock a few token bottles of the French stuff, but it's a heartless effort. When I do purchase something from the Boot, the staff at Vino has been very helpful and polite. Prices do not seem fantastic, though I don't have a great point of reference on Italian wines. Even as far as Italian wines go, their selection is not exactly encyclopedic. Overall- middle of the road.

Come here when I travel to New York for work for several years now. Selection isn't what is used to be. Very disappointing. Doesn't carry the same charm. Should bring the dogs back.

Discovered this little gem last night. Stopped in for one last supply of Rose before the chill of fall truly hits. This place is simply wonderful. I've wandered into MANY wine shops in this city and none compare to the joy and knowledge and friendliness of this group (and yes there were three people who were all great, it's rare to find one in most places). Can't wait to head back.

I've used Vino three years now for my company's Holiday Gifts (we send booze; a lot of champagne and bourbons). Organizing holiday alcohol shipments for a company is an unenviable chore, as anyone who has had to do it knows. However, Adam and his team at Vino have made it so much easier. They help with selection, they do all the shipping, they track the orders for us, they make last minute changes and updates and follow-up with me regularly. I highly recommend working with them for any kind of large scale corportate orders and shipments. They're real pros and great people.

I am not a wine expert/connoisseur so take this for what it's worth, but I found this place to be endearing and worth patronizing as the staff are very helpful. This place is not about a massive/comprehensive selection but rather a more curated solution to turn people on to the owner's favorite selection of Italian wines. So expect to not find exactly what you are looking for but at the same time you should expect to walk out with bottles you have not tried before on the staff's recommendation which for us has been unerring.

They offer daily wine tastings and very extensive walls of wines from all countries at good prices. Even if the wine is out of your price range they are more than happy to find you substitute options within your budget. We walked in due to the sign for free wine tastings and left with TWO bottles of wine. The people who work there are very knowledgeable about their wine but don't over crowd you with their expertise. They are happy to give you their opinions and recommendations if you ask. I look forward to going back and seeing with other wines they have in store for us!

I love this place - it is my absolute go-to for wine in the neighborhood. The knowledgeable staff always makes great recommendations in my price range. I have also attended a couple of the tastings, which have been great. They have created a great and welcoming ambiance at this place.

I needed liquor delivered for an event and called this store. The nicest man answered the phone and offered me fabulous suggestions. I got the best tequila for what I needed to spend and I would use these guys again and again for delivery. Thank you for great customer service

Had such a wonderful experience in here. I'm a big italian wine fan, so I was excited to see this place that I'd never been into before. The guy working there was super helpful and attentive, and he was a pleasure to talk to. I can't wait to return!

If you have some time on a Friday, take the time to go to one of their wine tastings. They're quick, the wine is usually amazing and unusual, and they never pressure you to buy anything. The staff is relaxed and not aggressive at all. If you ask them for recommendations, they will rarely steer you wrong. My one complaint is that most of the wine is not cheep. Then again, we are in Manhattan. Ask about the Guggenheim wine from Argentina. It's quite yummy. This store has also opened my eyes to the magical world of wine from Spain. They seem to really be promoting their wine industry in their tastings these days. This shop is definitely worth the trip.

This wine shop is very inviting and they do everything possible (including complimentary wine pours) to help you decide what to purchase. What more can I say. After telling the worker there my price range (on the cheaper side) and what type I was looking for, he didn't hesitate to point me in the right direction. And to sweeten the deal, he got a sample of a very similar blend to compare with.

love this place. used to work a couple blocks away, however we recently moved offices across Manhattan. even so, I still find myself walking over here to take advantage of the well-curated selection as well as the knowledgable and friendly staff. always leave happy, more often than not trying something new based upon recommendation (including tonight, with some local Brooklyn bourbon). definitely appreciate the efforts to stock local spirits, too.

I love this place. Whether I get a 10 dollar bottle here or I decide to splurge, the wine is always good. There are plenty of places in the city that'll sell you bad $10 wine, but not here. The guys that work here are super nice and helpful. The inside looks super classy- well-organized bottles by region and price beautifully displayed on wooden shelves. They have lots of good events- open tastings generally every week that draws a friendly, attractive crowd. Follow them on twitter to get discount codes for usually 10% off every week.

A very pleasant wine store and within close proximity of Little Basil, which is BYOB. The selection was above average and the prices were right for the neighborhood. Also there is a dog there from time to time, which is great!

This place is great. They do indeed do a lot of their own importing; as a result they do have small varietal wines that are hard to find. Because they specialize in Italian wines, they also have a lot of types that I had never heard of: luckily for me they have free wine tastings every Thursday- Saturday nights right around 6:00. Yum! They typically pour with a generous hand, but the real deal is the knowledge: ALL of their staff is super knowledgeable about wines without being pretentious or overbearing.
