Vintage Cocktail Club

A delightful bar secreted behind a scruffy door in the middle row of a busy street adds an air of illicit speakeasy to the whole experience. Ring the doorbell and - so long as you have a reservation - you will be admitted to a dark hallway then upstairs to a large candlelit room decorated in 1920/30s period pieces and individual tables. The service is attentive and very pleasant. An extensive menu of classic cocktails and house variations is laid out chronologically by period. The drinks are well mixed and potent using only the very best ingredients. They also have a menu of snacks and larger dishes. I can thoroughly recommend the Sidecar - superbly lemony and packs a punch. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful piece of atmospheric cocktail longe-lizard life.

Yes a speakeasy, hidden in plain sight. But the crowd in front gives it away. Multiple floors with intimate seating, very narrow spaces and dim candlelight lighting. The broccoli was disastrous. The cocktails recommended based on my palate, not good. Had the Rosy&Jim and then the Condor&Curly. They say a cocktail bar with a large menu is nothing special. VCC didn’t serve.

Hidden behind an unassuming black door in Temple Bar. The menu is creatively designed like a historical book, with plenty of interesting cocktails. There’s a mandatory 10% service charge for groups of two or more, but the staff tends to rush you to order and leave.

A real secret in the Temple Bar area. Ring a nondescript doorbell and be admitted to an old-style speakeasy. Extensive cocktail menu covering the classics and own inventions. Had two Manhattans which were gorgeous. Lovely service from the friendly hostesses as well. They offer small plates and cocktail making classes as well. You need to book a table - a couple tried to sneak in the door after we were admitted but were pleasingly told to wait by the hostess - some cheek on people lol!

Great experience. Service was out of this world. Cocktails came so quick we were wondering how they did it. Extensive cocktail offering and I threw them a curve ball to create something different which they easily did and was amazing. These guys know what they’re doing! Loved it!

Really cool speakeasy with great atmosphere and vibes. The drinks were unique, flavourful and refreshing. The staff were also very friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you'd like a break from the pubs!

I was so impressed with this place I’m writing the review while I’m still at the table. The drinks are so good. And the service is next level good. Do yourself a favor and make reservations. We’ll for sure be back on our next trip to Dublin. I’m attaching a picture of the door just to reinforce it is the nondescript black door.

We booked for lunch. But we were only told on arrival that the kitchen was closed. We had made a long trip and we were hungry. The cocktails were nice but very expensive. We had 1 each. The waitress gave another table small bowls of olives and nuts but didn't offer us anything, which was disappointing. Not an easy place to find. Please find a picture of the door and menu attached.

Enter VCC through black doors after ringing the door bell and walk upstairs to one of their floors filled with cozy furniture lit by candlelight! Their menu is a history lesson in cocktails and alcohol over the ages. I enjoyed my Jameson's Gate Schooner which is a signature drink of theirs.

We stopped here for a drink and bite to eat during a recent trip to Dublin. It was the perfect place for an intimate cocktail! It's located in Temple Bar, but this spot doesn't feel touristy. The inside of the bar is very cozy and feels like you're in another era. We enjoyed our drinks and bites! We would definitely come back the next time we're in Dublin.

We ended the night at V.C.C. after doing a little Dublin pub crawl and we definitely saved the best for last. After enduring several packed loud bars the Vintage Cocktail Club was a breath of fresh air. Dark and a little moody, its probably one of the best "speakeasy" style bars I've been to. As a tiki aficionado, I was super excited that they had a whole page in their menu dedicated to tiki drinks (it's kind of why I made a reservation). Ended up trying their version of a Mai Tai, a Jungle Bird, and a Navy Grog. All were incredibly delicious and well balanced. They have a cocktail for every taste and their menu is really cool as it covers basically the history of cocktails. Our bartender was super friendly and was happy to offer recommendations as well. If the craziness of Temple Bar isn't your thing, make a reservation here instead. Enjoy a walk through of the Temple Bar to say you did and take your pictures, but enjoy a proper cocktail at the V.C.C.

Amazing experience, great tasting drinks and fabulous service. Gabby is an amazing knowledgeable person who took care of us. Highly recommend this place.

Must try: Jameson Gate Schooner and Wee Dram with Charcuterie Board and Cheese! Why: Loved our speakeasy experience in the heart of Temple Bar! Cocktails were special and dangerously good! I stuck to Irish Whiskey so enjoyed Jameson Gate Schooner and Wee Dram. The Schooner was a refreshing, light, and nutty (Nutella-like) cocktail. The meat and cheese were plentiful and delicious. Notes: Great service. Great ambiance. Light music so you can have conversations. Clean bathrooms upstairs. Loved the unique menu with artwork and a vast selection of drinks taking you through various periods and genres of cocktails.

Super duper cool and great place. I'm a loyal customer here. Drinks are all €13. Bites are delicious! Atmosphere is very intimate and definitely hidden. Love this speakeasy place. Booked to go on Open Table and the booking received was for another day other than received. We were not the only ones standing out there with dates changed in our emails. So just keep on eye out on your booking. Otherwise, great place and defiantly recommend!

The ppl at Orwell Road mentioned this place to me for a special cocktail experience and they weren't wrong - you're going to need a rez or show up when they first open and hope for the best- I was alone and slid into a seat right at 5 with the promise to be done in an hour The door is hard to find- no sign at all- just initials and you have to ring the doorbell and wait a little bit too much drama for me- especially when you get to the top of the stair and see their little computer/camera office (are they paying someone to sit in there and monitor the door? Because that person could actually be working the door ) Cocktails were of the highest caliber and invention- I'd like to think you can't surprise me anymore in the cocktail world but they most definitely did The menu reads like a cocktail history lesson and it's very well done They do offer snacks if necessary but that's not why you're here- go straight to their house concoctions (see pics) Very well priced for the entire experience- I was expecting to pay more

I want to thank the VCC staff for their hospitality. My partner is disabled and was unable to accompany me on my trip to Ireland. She and I love cocktail lounges and have beautiful memories of traveling abroad and enjoying the ambiance and libations that unique places such as VCC have to offer. Not only were my cocktails delicious but I loved the menu so much that I asked if I could buy one. A beautiful young lady (VCC staff member) rummaged through their store room and found me an outdated one that I could bring home to my partner. I can't tell you how much this gesture meant to me. Being able to share some of my VCC experience with my partner when I returned home was so special. Thank you, thank you.

Left an honest review about our mediocre experience on another platform only to have the establishment write a completely fabricated public response that is unable to be refuted. I would not recommend a visit, nor will we be coming back and will continue to warn others to avoid. My husband and 2 adult children visited for drinks while on vacation, drinks were fine, light food ok. Service was slow and awkward, and we were told at the 1 hour point that we should wrap up soon because we only had the table for 2 hours. Not worth the price or wait, and frankly they should focus on improving the experience instead of making up fake responses to try to discredit their patrons. I fully expect another fabricated response to follow this review, probably cut and pasted from the one from the other platform- if so read that knowing it is made up. We arrived on time, stayed for under the time allotted, and experienced very slow service, both in ordering and receiving our drinks, despite what response may follow this. Again, not worth it and would not recommend. Plenty of other speakeasies in the area with better service and business practices that aren't shady.

This is truly a hidden gem! Excellent creative cocktails come with background stories or for the faint-at-heart there is beer & wine. Best wishes finding the door. It'll magically appear if you turn around three times in the street! LOL (Or look for the line of people.) Make a reservation to secure your spot!

Loved this speakeasy! The door can be hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for so I enclosed a pic below. You ring the doorbell and the staff comes to ask if you have a reservation. We did not but it was mid-week and early so it was easy to get in. I would suggest making one if you are coming on a late night or weekend. Service was slow but cocktails were great! We did not get any food while we were here but the drinks were great! The Server can usually direct you towards a drink you might like if you give them suggestions of things you like as the line up of drinks is quite large! Cheers!

The vintage cocktail club, affectionately known as the VCC is a divine little cozy collection of cozy spots in a lil city centre building. The ambiance is candle lit dark but warm. The music soundtrack feels like a collection of someone's old vinyls. The drinks, oh the drinks are extra special. They're crafting the classics of course but also have lots of plays and twists of their own. We played a game that night where we got random drinks and had to guess what it was. Such a delight and kept the whole table guessing and engaged in conversations all night. Looking forward to a future visit to the vcc sometime soon.

VCC is a unique speak easy in Dublin with a unique historical perspective on their drinks. VCC is a hidden gem that has a truly vintage feel throughout the establishment. The vintage theme carries over into the drink menu with a breakdown of cocktails throughout the history of cocktails, which I found interesting. How many bars still serve cocktails from the beginning of cocktails? The prices were very reasonable and the drinks were mixed well, not too strong, not too light. The staff were polite, friendly, and well dressed. We'd definitely go back to VCC or recommend it to anyone in Dublin.

Best cocktail bar I've ever been to!! The drink selection is so impressive, with a ton of options and sorted by era. The staff were very nice, but make sure you make a reservation as it is a popular place! The ambiance is really great as well, and I recommend dressing up a bit.

Got tired of all the endless pubs in the area and thought we'd check this spot out and honestly we were not disappointed at all. Loved everything from the drinks and the ambiance, to the staff and even the menu! A must try spot if you're in Dublin

Best vibes in a speakeasy that I've ever experienced, and the cocktails were perfect.

This speakeasy was recommended in a layover group and I'm so glad that we visited. I was lucky to grab a reservation for three for the same day. The cocktail menu is very complex. I ordered the Ceylon In The City. It was delicious. The foam makes it smooth in the front and spice kicks in the back of the tongue. Definitely worth a visit and such a chill vibe especially compared to visiting Temple Bar before that.

A wonderful happy hour. We all ordered unique and fun cocktails and a great charcuterie plate. A fun evening and great ambiance. Great service.

Had drinks there last night and everything was excellent. The two Brazilian women helping us did a great job accommodating us. The drinks the bartender made were really good. The place was a little warm in June, but the brought out a little fan for us which helped a bit. It was comfy inside and romantic ambience. It was quiet. Would definitely come back for drinks

This spot was one of the best cocktail bars I've visited in Ireland so far in my travels to the country. I only heard about this joint through a Yelp search I performed for my second trip, looking for cool bars and speakeasies. Being that the Blind Pig (where we went on our first trip) wasn't open at the time, we wanted to see if we could find something similar. Vintage Cocktail Club (VCC) more than fit the bill to our immense satisfaction. To find this spot, you have to go up one of the side streets in Dublin's Temple Bar, not far from the central part of the drag where the Quays and the actual Temple Bar are located. With the outdoor seating only available at the time -- the club had tables outside the usually discreet doorway (with no noted signage) and the rooftop accessible by the stairwell. Despite the restrictions at the time, my wife and I had some great craic there. The manager who owns the business accommodated us wonderfully, ensuring we had what we needed as we ordered dinner and drinks. She gave us flutes of prosecco on the house since we just had our Celtic marriage ceremony on the opposite side of Ireland in Doolin; a lovely gesture indeed! And because it was cold out -- we didn't think to put on our jackets before leaving the hotel, the manager brought us blankets to cover ourselves since we were sitting outside the front entrance on the first night. The burger I ordered was fabulous, incredibly savory, and satisfying to the last bite. The mixologists there create very magical cocktails that we ordered more than one from VCC's extensive drink menu booklet. The Rosy & Jim was a delicious blended Irish Whiskey drink with rosemary-infused Rhubarb Liqueur and homemade simple syrup with a rosemary skewer. From there, I enjoyed a Southern Passion, which comprised pisco (Peru's national liquor), apple, and passion fruit with a cool passion fruit coin onto the drink as garnish. We loved this spot so much that we returned here on our final night in Dublin before flying back home, where we took seats at a table at the rooftop bar. We enjoyed some more classic cocktails like their Mai-Tai and Navy Grog. Both rum-based cocktails were exquisitely made and very strong -- the former more orange and citrusy while the latter had more grapefruit notes. Finishing off with the Wobbler that had ruby grapefruit-infused vodka, Fernet Branca, and Port wine, we certainly had a night of nights at VCC. Whether you're visiting from afar or live in the area, definitely check VCC out. I'm sure by now, they have returned to using their discreet doorway for an entrance, bringing you into a world that's removed from everyday life.

So cozy and comfy. We loved the atmosphere and our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and so welcoming ! Deff would come back !

Some advice: Bookings are a must. Not a wine or beer place. VCC offers incredible cocktails. These are experiences on ice. Natalie and Roge took care of us, and made sure we had amazing service and an amazing night.

Get a reservation and he'd in. Great drinks and cool place to meet up with friends. Love places like this. They put so much into the drinks. They care.

We had a wonderful experience here! My brother and I heard about this place online, and decided to see what it was about. We didn't realize we should've made a booking, but Maria was super accommodating and made sure we were able to get a table when another booking fell through. The lounge itself is dimly lit and has a really cool vibe. The drinks were fantastic, and our server Natalia was very friendly and helpful. All around a great experience here!

I love cocktails and was happy to come to this cute little speakeasy. The entrance was a bit challenging to find as there were no big signs to be seen anywhere. After looping around the building twice, we figured it must be this unnamed door. We were supposed to ring the bell, but my husband eventually got the door open.... Apparently they saw the whole shenanigan on their cameras! After we managed to get in, someone greeted us at the top of the stairs and we were lucky enough to grab a corner lounge seating area. We enjoyed two cocktails each and they were all very well made and delicious. The only thing I wouldn't get again is the tiramisu. That was definitely a mistake as it was not very good.

Speakeasy bar alert! As most of the good ones, unless you are looking for it you will miss it! Once you stand in front of its door you'll think "oh, well that wasn't so hard. How did I miss it?" A lady opened the door and asked if we had reservations. Our friends were already inside so we were escorted to the top floor where they were. Be prepared to wait if you do not have reservations or the place is full but it's worth the wait. The way up the stairs, showed a classy, cool, and eclectic vibe. So did the all black outfit the staff member who escorted us up was wearing. When we got to where our friends were, we saw a small room, filled with sofas and antique looking chairs. Wall paper gives the room a retro look that matches the furniture. There was also a bar but it was closed at this time so our drinks came from the one downstairs. About 5 minutes after we had sat down, a server came up the stairs and got our drink order. I saw a passion fruit drink and knew that was the one for me. Came in one of those "Gatsby" champagne glasses, always elegant. Light color with a frothy top, and a burn lemon slice as garnish. The drink was delicious! And the ambiance very chic. You are definitely to find a drink (probably more) that you'll like as their menu is extensive, and they have a full bar, plus wine. This was a great find!

Definitely make reservations bc they turn people away. It's a 3 story place, but a very unassuming doorway with "VCC" is the only clue from the outside that it exists. The drinks are super creative and tasty. The ambiance is very cool and old school upscale. Most of the staff is very friendly, but some need a bit help warming up. The food looks good, but heads up with the "veggie" platter. It's mostly breaded stuff and pretty bland. Goat cheese balls, veggie arancini and bruschetta sounds great! But we found them a bit bland. It was a nice change of pace from pub food, but unless I'm just gonna do drinks, I'll probably pass next time I'm around.

We enjoyed this place. Must make a reservation on open table. It's a speak easy feel for sure. Food was tasty. Staff was friendly. They sit the entire place all at once so I recommend getting in a little early so you can get your drink order in first. Cocktails were good though. Nice ambiance.

We were given a tip from a local to check this place out and it didn't disappoint! My friend and I love speakeasies and are so glad we were able to come here. The setting is intimate and eclectic. The cocktail list is extensive, it's a book of cocktails through the ages. It was quite fascinating to see the evolution of cocktails. We tried a few different ones and were really impressed. We weren't sure if we were at the right location. It took a few minutes to be greeted after ringing the bell, so be patient. We were taken up a flight of stairs that looked a little sketchy and behind the door at the top of the stairs is this fantastic little spot. We were lucky to be seated quickly without a reservation, but I'd recommend reservations if you can.

Visited here January 2022 per recommendation of a few friends. I'm pregnant so I didn't have too high of hopes. However, the waiter made me a delicious mocktail while my husband sampled drinks from The menu. The food was also delicious! Atmosphere was just so cute. Definite must go if you are visiting Dublin.

I give it a four for the service. I think the little pig is a more speakeasyish. The door was cool but there is a crowd going out and coming in became you are on strict two hours seating change per reservation. Perhaps the restaurant part is better. We just reserved a table for drinks.

Leave it to me and my friends to find a speakeasy in Dublin! We are very New Yorky and love little hidden gems like this lovely spot. It is not pretentious (which is opposite of NYC speakeasy scene) so we liked it even more! It has a verrrrry chill vibe inside and the hostess seats you almost immediately as long as there is room. No fussing whatsoever (how refreshing!). Tip: follow the address to an unmarked door and ring the door bell. Give it a few minutes and the hostess will come down to greet you. It looks sketch but it isn't. Recommend arriving before 10 pm.

This is a place where you wring the bell and someone will come down and open the door for you as it is always locked. The decor was really cool and i love the multiple stories with partially outside/inside concept (part of the roof was not closed all the way). The cocktails were good however the overall 5 stars I gave this place was because of the awesome ambience.

Spectacular speakeasy-style lounge hidden among the loud pubs of Temple Bar. Behind the unassuming door marked "VCC" is an intimate, romantic spot for cocktails. The menu is arranged by decades, so you can choose from the punches popular in the 17th Century, the "golden age" of cocktails in the 19th century, or the tiki concoctions of the 1930. My wife loved her Condor and Curly Sue (Tanqueray London Dry Gin, apple, rhubarb and vanilla) and I enjoyed a Manhattan variant called the Wee Dram (Single Malt Irish Whiskey, Apple Liqueur, Poire Williams, and port). Make reservations online--if you love cocktails, you won't regret it.

Omg yes! Please respect that this is a very traditional speakeasy that's super rich in history. The menu even includes the history of alcohol and prohibition in the US in the 20's. They pay attention to all the details, from ingredients, ambiance, dress code and decor. This was my favorite stop in Dublin, hands down. The menu is super organized (right up my alley) and helps you select a drink from a pre sorted list based on what you like in a liquor drink. I can't even remember what we had-we tried 4 total and they were all amazing in so many different ways. Don't worry about what others get, tell the waitress what you like, and she will pick the perfect drink for you! I loved her for that. The bartender takes his job so seriously I saw him perfectly measuring everything. At one point I saw him accidentally add something so he dumped the drink and started over-talk about caring about quality. I love that they don't have signage out front so they only get people who want to go there, and seek it out. Eliminates random visitors that don't respect or appreciate it. If there was a place like this in my town I would definitely go all the time. Didn't try the food, but I guarantee I will next time in in Dublin-looked amazing too.

I'm excited to say that we came across the Vintage Cocktail Club but didn't have a reservation, and we still got a spot hanging around the top floor bar. The large original cocktail menu had so many drinks I wanted to try out but grabbed The Dirt Wizard with what it seemed to be graham cracker rim. Best drink ever!!! I wish I had taken a picture of the menu because there were so many to pick. This place is amazing and sadly we found it the last night of our Dublin stay. As we left the top floor, we truly found other floors with where you can get food. We stopped by the kitchen floor to check out how beautiful this place was PLUS see their lovely dinner dishes. We were disappointed to not have try out their dinner. Make a reservation!! Was such a pleasure, I wish we could return again asap.

A lovely cocktail experience that I would recommend to anyone in search of a unique ambiance and perfectly crafted drinks. Located behind an ambiguously marked black door on a quiet street in Temple Bar, this vintage speakeasy inspired bar consists of three floors of candle lit beauty. Reservations are highly recommended, especially for evenings and weekends. I made a reservation for Sunday at 10:30pm, which was the only one available on that day. We arrived 30 minutes early and were surprised to find the place relatively empty. We were seated on the bottom floor, which has a 1920's Chinese opium den vibe going on. There is plenty of bar seating available, but the table service was really lovely. We spent a while perusing the menu, which is massive-over 50 cocktails! The well organized list included everything from old world classics to tiki drinks, to V.C.C. signature cocktails. All cocktails are reasonably priced at €12. I got the Zombie, which was a tasty blend of light and dark rums, pineapple, fresh passionfruit, and mint. It was good, but slightly too sweet and lacked the dimension that a good Zombie should have. My boyfriend got the Jameson's Gate Schooner, which was much better. A silky smooth drink comprised of Jameson Select Reserve, port wine, orange juice, and nutmeg, it was one of the best whisky cocktails I have ever tried. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Dublin.

Really quite a cool speakeasy type spot in the heart of Temple Bar. Be sure to check out the pictures here on Yelp so you know what it looks like from the outside because there are no signs advertising it. Reservations are almost entirely required unless you're lucky enough to score and open slot by chance. The drinks are pricey, the service isn't very good but it is SO cool and there is so much history provided around proper cocktails and time-period favorites that it is well worth a visit!

I was scared looking for this place the first time I ventured into Temple Bar at 10pm, but after passing the discreetly numbered white door three times, figured knocking was at least worth a shot. Adorned with several floors including a smoking level, the cocktail options here are thorough, creative, and packed with liqueur. Although a little pricey, they are carefully put together and worth the trip and dollars paid. I liked eating at the bar in the downstairs level and enjoyed my passion fruit tiki drink although I don't have the picture any longer to call out the name. The bartenders are usually working very fast here, so knowing in advance some general request guidelines and etiquette is advised.

Exceptional speakeasy in town, perfect place to hide from tourists at Templebar close by. You feel being placed in another world at another time. Even the service resembles what you'd have expected in the 20s. Great selection of creative cocktails yet all classics available on request. I personally like the hidden rooftop terrace on a midsummers night. Thu/Fri/Sat you definitely need a reservation if you're showing up before 11.

If you're ever in Dublin, Ireland, I would highly recommend making a reservation and coming to this place. They have wonderful cocktails and absolutely delicious food. I think we ordered 4 plates of the fish bites because they were that good. Ann-Marie was our waitress and she was AMAZING! I love people who interact with you which is part of why she made our experience there so great. Definitely plan on going back before we head to our next destination!

Incredible experience! The ambiance is really cozy and the decor is very on theme (prohibition). The cocktails are very tasty and very aesthetically pleasing. My favorite by far is the off-menu Dirty Wizard, which is flavorful without being overly sweet and has a great egg foam to top it off. Make sure you make a reservation because you won't be let in otherwise.

This is by far a wonderful experience - an intimate bar/ restaurant that serves cocktails from recipes from the 1400 to present - well worth a visit - romantic for a couple and absolute fun for a group of friends - you will not be disappointed !!.. are last server Hugo was the best !!
