Vintanthro Modern & Vintage

This is an amazing thrift store! I loved the selections and how there a truly classics - books, clothes, and timeless pieces. I also loved the decor and the accessories! Totally worth it, the items are reasonably priced and well taken of, my favorites are the scar collections.

Store is nicely decorated but items are overpriced and owner is not nice. No welcome or greeting upon entering the store. She had a cold attitude and was too busy pricing items instead of helping to show us items we were interested in purchasing. Will not be going back and wouldn’t recommend unless you want to be treated like you’re not worth the bother.

My sister-in-law and I ventured into this shop and we were so happy we did. They have an incredible array of clothing, wares, jewelry, and fun little gifts. Zoe, was amazing at showing us around, giving us suggestions, and just all around fantastic customer service. We bought some really unique pieces and will definitely return when we are in the area.

when i first moved to new haven I got one of my favorite pieces of jewelry there for such a reasonable price. I still wear it every day. the ladies that work there are always so nice too. good place to visit

Vintanthro is a must stop for anyone interested in sustainable fashion and high-quality vantage wear. Their shop is an experience in itself with it's colorful and tasteful setup. It's a true treat to look though the racks and find one-of-a-kind clothing. During my visits Victoria has been a wonderful resource for questions about pieces in the store and takes excellent care of all the products. An easy 5 stars ⭐

Beautiful store! I had a wonderful time looking around. It's bigger than it appears from the outside, lots to look at. Such a gem! The owner was so sweet and helpful! I can't wait to go back!

Since moving to New Haven a couple of years ago, my favorite way to brighten up any day is to visit Vintanthro and see Melissa and Victoria! The shop itself is so cozy and inviting that the pleasure of just looking at all the thoughtful design and organization of the space is enough to convince me to leave my house. Beyond the actual experience of the shop, I love visiting regularly because there are always new featured items from local artisans, great vintage finds, and everyday staples (candles, cards, teas). Vintanthro is my go-to place in New Haven - Melissa and Victoria have made it more of a destination than just a shop and I highly recommend it to anyone!

Really love this place. Friendly staff that is helpful but let’s you do your own thing if you just want to slowly admire everything in this gorgeous store. Lots of silk, linen, leather, wool, and vintage denim. Plenty of stuff that fit me (modern size 14). Truly retail therapy, felt like shopping a friends fabulous closet.

An excellent selection of vintage clothes and jewelry, and a great place to buy gifts for loved ones. You can tell the staff here truly love their job and are very friendly.

The shop is so cute! The shop has small trinkets, fashion, and cute prints!! The prices can be a little expensive, but that's what you pay for quality! I just left and I already want to go back!

Had to stop here with my lovely lady. Like any other woman in the world, she loves shopping. NIce Vintage clothes and material for women. I felt out of place as a dude here lol. Items were pricey here for a vintage store. But, i had no complaints. Even If I am the one flipping the bill. But I like the clothes she chose, and the design looks on them. Nice cool shop here. If shes happy, I am happy with the clothes.

Quaint store with lots of interesting items. Some are a bit pricey but I guess that's to be expected. The lady, whom I'm going to assume is the owner was less than friendly. I hear her get snippy with another customer about a coupon. I didn't like her vibe. The only good thing is she didn't stand over you. I would definitely like to visit again as it was a cool store.

Vintanthro Modern & Vintage is lovely store in New Haven, just as it's name sounds they sell vintage and modern items. My friend and I had a great time looking through all their beautiful gems. I loved their collection of vintage silk scarfs from Japan. They're of stunning quality and vibrant colors. They have jewelry, formal dresses, coats, shoes, art work, decor items, greeting cards and books. There is also a downstairs section of kids furniture, with the most adorable tiny desk, books, and little girls dresses. There was a pair of little girls Mexican sandals, that I just wish I had a little girl in my life to get them for. This store is so beautifully styled, that alone is a masterpiece. There was one lady working, I'm not sure if she's the owner, she said I could try on anything I like. I looked at a pair of really fun earrings, but they were clip ons, and a bit too big for me, so I passed. This store is a pleasure to walk through, and maybe you'll find something to add to your wardrobe, at the very least it's nostalgic shopping trip. I'll for sure stop by when I'm in the area next.

If I could this place would be a 0/0 from me. My partner and I stopped in today. We found a vegan leather skirt that was nice and wanted to try it on after looking through the rest of the store. Before we passed the checkout desk, the older woman working the store yelled over at us that my partner would not fit in it. Then stated that her daughter is a size 6 and found it uncomfortable. This was rude and unnecessary on so many levels. We never asked for her opinion on sizing yet she wanted to let us know of her thoughts. Great job creating a comfortable and welcoming environment

Exceptionally curated vintage and handmade shop! They have such good taste, and a solid network of local makers to feature in the store. A long-time favorite and neighborhood staple!

This store is so cute and I could spend hours here looking around. From dishes to clothes, everything had a unique charm. The candles smelled amazing and were not that pricey considering they were unique scent and sold in cute vessels like the tea set I show in the pictures. Also, the basement area was so cute and continued the great collection including vintage table cloths that I loved. Finally, they do have a selection of non vintage items if you are just looking for a fresh piece of decor. Great store and can't wait to go again.

My daughter loves her new pants. This is a very cool shop. I don't live in the area otherwise I'm sure I'd be back. I really like the measures they currently have for covid. The door is locked so they can limit the number of people and sanitizer is available. That made me feel safe. The woman who was working who I assumes owns the business was lovely. She was friendly and chatted with me and my daughter a little as we looked around. And because I checked in on Yelp I got a discount on the pants. Very happy with this trip.

New to the area and was looking for vintage shops, stumbled to the cutest shop. If you are looking for unique home decor, clothes, this your place! Love their Global Maps!

Love this place! I can always find a great bargain. I bring everyone when I come because there truly is something for everyone. Yes even my husband! The day I went my daughter came and brought a lovely jacket. I was jealous. Maybe I should stop bringing people who spot the darling finds before me. Just kidding that's part of the fun!

Offerings are limited and my poor Customer Service experience means I won't be returning. I think EBM will be my go to vintage source in New Haven.

I'm so happy to have a store like Vintanthromodern in New Haven, where quality vintage shops are severely lacking! Great selection of curated goods. I love their selection of plants, home goods, and vintage children's items. The owner, Melissa, is extremely friendly and helpful. I always enjoy chatting with her when I'm in.

Classics never go out of style. Period. When we look at the world of fashion we always see echoes of the past and plenty of those echoes are not so subtle. Melissa and her team do a great job at sourcing and curating an eclectic inventory at Vintanthromodern. The fashion world is a circle where everything old becomes new again. Because of this, vintage is versatile. Take a walk around Vintanthromodern and I can gurantee you'll find something for your wardrobe. Whether if you choose to be up to the minute fresh, or you're looking to pair vintage items with new accessories: mix and match for an uber-hip look that isn't dated or retro. The men's stuff is slowly building. Jackets, sport-coats, boots -- those would be cool to see more of. For women, I've seen many friends walk away with all sorts of fashionable gems. Melissa also carries stuff from local vendors which is cool. Facial scrubs from Poor and Pretty Apothecary, knit beanies from Peterson Sweater Co, jewelry from Kate Stephen -- Melissa is really cool about supporting local! FYI Monday - Wednesday: closed Thursday - Sunday: 12-6pm

I visited Vintanthromodern for the first time on Small Business Saturday and was immediately impressed. I loved the little local touches with New Haven cards, prints, and other accessories/home decor. I loved the old maps available for purchase (especially the framed ones with sayings printed over them). I loved the vintage clothing, shoes, and home accessories (tablecloths, napkins, sheets, etc.) -- and that everything came in a variety of sizes! I even took a picture of the decorations on the wall so I could copy it! I loved the style here. It can be a little tight to get around if there are a lot of people in the store, and I wish there were more changing rooms and that all of the shoes/boots had size stickers on them, but I think this is a much-needed addition to New Haven and hope it sticks around for a long, long time.

Vintanthromodern quickly became one of my favorite places in New Haven after moving here from NYC. It being located conveniently in my (the best) neighborhood, Westville, meant it became a weekend ritual to browse the racks and shelves for new or previously missed treasure. The shop has such a wide range of items, from vintage to contemporary, designer to more modest brands, handmade and one of a kind pieces for your home and your body. All of the items are impeccably chosen by the talented eyes of Melissa and Victoria. Buying for yourself or for a gift, you are bound to find something fabulous. If you can't get into the shop, their Friday evening IG live sales bring the treasures to you while being sure to make you smile. They also have an Etsy featuring their extra special pieces. Please check this shop out and be sure to check back often for new finds!

Melissa knows her stuff. You know how sometimes you walk into a vintage shop, and it just seems like a bunch of cheap crap they've acquired and are trying to sell back to you? You won't get that feeling here. Everything in the shop is carefully picked out to be unique, on-trend, and of good quality. Vintanthromodern also carries a variety of new items (mostly accessories and gifts) that help make the shop feel modern. Often these are from local makers too. The place is spacious and packed with good variety, including men's items too. Worth checking out, even if vintage is not typically your thing.

The Haven Collective is the perfect mix of vintage wonderland, craft space, and hip boutique. I've always enjoyed seeing the Vintanthromobile at local markets so it's great to see it as a brick & mortar store! Not only is the space stunning, but they feature some incredible pop up shops that rotate throughout the year. I am SO excited about their craft area - it's perfect for the DIYer, as the store features every kind of class from wire letter wall art to candle making, knitting, DIY bath bombs, calligraphy and more. I desperately want a place like this in Hartford but will gladly make the drive to New Haven in the meantime.

Once in awhile you might find something interesting here. The couple of times I've bought stuff-I get home to find something wrong with it-tears or holes that the staff doesn't bother telling you about. Check your items before leaving the store. If the prices weren't so steep-I'd go with it-but the stuff is overpriced. Now I avoid.

If you're into anything vintage, this shop is a must for you! It is such a wonderful place! There is a wide variety of stuff-from cute home decor to clothing (women, men, and kiddos!) and shoes. I will definitely be visiting again. LOVE this store.
