The Best Flights I've Booked With Points and Miles—And How You Can Too

"Virgin Atlantic Flying Club offers low points rates and decent award availability on its flights between London Heathrow and several US cities. Like many Swifties, my best friend and I flew across the Atlantic for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. We scored standing-room-only seats and ended up just 10 feet from the stage. To ride the high of our trip, we redeemed our points for business class tickets, which Virgin aptly calls “Upper Class,” for our flight back home. Our experience began with a private security entrance at Heathrow, which quickly led us to the Virgin Clubhouse. Though we’d be well-fed onboard, we couldn’t resist a hearty meal of fish and chips, followed by freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. We flew in back-to-back window seats on the Airbus A350, enjoyed afternoon tea in the onboard lounge, and were even gifted a set of Virgin Atlantic playing cards by the friendly flight attendants."

What a fantastic and spacious lounge with great food and service. We were very well looked after and we ordered off the menu. There were plenty of top ups of our champagne and we had a lovely time before we had to depart for our VIRGIN flight home. Delicious breakfast, beautiful selection of wines, great service, what more could you ask for?

First Time in a lounge. The ladies were very welcoming at the reception desk. They checked me in and told me about the lounge and is it all worked. There was plenty of seating everywhere. They had a deli bar with assorted meats, cheeses, breads, pastries etc. They also had a menu you could order from with egg entrees. The menu was limited and I wish they had better menu choices. The wait staff were friendly and very helpful.

Google
Excellent lounge and fantastic experience for flying to JFK. The desk staff were kind and very helpful. The lounge is beautiful and well laid out. Many different drink and food choices. A nice bathroom with soap and lotion, tissues, and face clothes. Had a sausage roll for breakfast with tea and then a Bellini. Found a quiet corner to sit with my husband.

Lovely area to spend before a long flight . Lots of space and a great section of food and drink. The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you. Virgin know how to do those kind of things

Been fortunate to have experienced VA Upper Class a few times now and it’s a joy to visit each time. It’s a large spacious area offering a few types of seating arrangements. Service from entry to catering is exceptional and staff are friendly and attentive. Food and drink can be ordered from menu via staff or QR code. Or you can choose from the buffet option. Also offers shower, gym and quiet space. Large TV screen and announcements are made regularly to keep you updated on flight information.

Google
A very impressive lounge. It's certainly an experience before you board your flight. There are quiet zones, gym equipment & access to laptop facilities as well as lounge tables & chairs. The food & drink on offer were of a high standard. Staff came around regularly to top up your drink. There is an observation deck overlooking the airport apron. You get priority boarding on to your flight. Can't recommend it enough. The experience carries on through to the aircraft.

Google
The upper class lounge was full of passengers. The full English breakfast serving has improved in quantity and taste since last year. I love how I can reorder drinks and food to be delivered to the table via the app. I would give the waffle a miss as it was tasteless. The staff are very friendly and courteous.

I had about one hour prior to my flight to use this lounge. It was light, and bright and large. I found seating on a bar-type place that had plug ins for the phone. They had a warm buffet with servers. I asked for a toast and then grabbed a few more items and sat down. Forgetting about the toast, I was surprised that a host found me and presented the toast. Pleasant. The food was fresh and good. I also got to experience the shower area. It was very nice.

Yelp
So this is an update to my previous review. The Virgin Atlantic lounge (aka the clubhouse) is great. The best airport lounge I've experienced. The atmosphere is top notch, clean and a bit classy. The wait staff is friendly, prompt and accurate. And as I said in my previous review, there is not Buffett line to contend with. The full service menu with food delivered to your table is nice. Pamper yourself a little. Fly upper class and come enjoy the Clubhouse (aka Lounge H).

Yelp
4.5 stars. Virgin Clubhouse at LHR is often regarded as one of the best airport lounges in the world. While its exclusivity may be overshadowed by the Concorde Room, this is a very impressive lounge offering. The food selections are great and the fact that you can order from the menu is an amazing feature. The dishes are tasty, although one of them came out with rotten micro greens. The wine selections are impressive with Palmer Brut Champagne and Rose Champagne being the highlight. It's nice to see a different and more premium champagne selection in the lounge than in the sky, so that was a very clever approach. Perhaps what makes this lounge remarkable is the team working here, who truly go above and beyond. While the space is quite big, it can get very crowded. That certainly takes away from the atmosphere a bit, but the crew here managed it very well for the most part, but some things did get missed. For example, restrooms were rather dirty and the lounge did feel understaffed during peak hours. The upstairs veranda is less impressive. It could use a design overhaul, maybe an outdoor bar. It feels that outdoor part of the lounge now lags behind most completion. Some large plants would help transform that small space into something cozier and more beautiful. As a whole, excellent food, beautiful design and remarkable service are all there and if visiting outside the rush hour, this is indeed one of the best lounges in the world.

Yelp
As always, this airport clubhouse and lounge is top-notch. The staff is incredibly welcoming, the drinks are strong, the AC is just right, and there's plenty of food. It's the perfect spot to unwind before a flight. In fact, whenever we fly out of Heathrow, we make sure to arrive hours early just to enjoy some time in the lounge. It's such a luxury to be able to take a shower or even squeeze in a workout if needed. 5/5--worth every penny for the experience this lounge offers.

Yelp
I was happy to just have Upper Class for my flight back home, but it came with access to Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. Well, can't pass this one up now can I? This lounge is very very good. Definitely one of the best airport lounges I have been in. Plenty of seats everywhere, so even if there are a lot of people in here you'll still probably find a seat. Food options here are either by hot food by QR code order or at the cold cuts counter. Hot food options were pretty plentiful, but I made do with some Indian food. Cold cuts had a decent selection, I stuck mostly to cooked fish and smoked fish. There is an upstairs "garden," but it's not really that awe inspiring. It's just fake grass and you're surrounded by fences while watching planes take off. This would probably be better if the weather was better, but you know how English weather can be. Thankfully was able to take a shower before I took off. All I had to do was ask the counter for an available shower stall and there was no wait. If I'm flying out of Heathrow, I definitely need to find my way back to Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. Had a great experience here.

Yelp
Came in as a Virgin to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse and came out a changed man! This is by far the nicest and best lounge I have even been in. The food the drinks the service the ambience was all just amazing. We had access to other lounges for our trip but had Delta One seats back to the States so we were able to come into the Virgin Clubhouse. As soon as we walked in we were blown away. We started off with drinks. I had a margarita which actually is served with Patron. This was by far the best I have had in any lounge. We of course ordered food too. We came in right before the which to lunch so last day in London so I had to have a Full English and it was great! We then switched to lunch and had to get the Fish and Chips which was also great. Just as good as a London Pub. We also had to try the Picnic Basket which is actually served in one and comes with half a Scotch Egg, a Meat Pie, Bread and Cheese. I will say it is served chilled so just a heads up. Going forward whenever I am flying into or out of London Heathrow I will be doing everything in my power to get into The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse.

Yelp
Lovely lounge with super friendly staff, delicious food, and beautiful decor! Tranquil, peaceful, and posh... love the greenery/verdant plant vibes. Came here via a layover from the US to South Africa. Layover of 5 hours allowed me to enjoy the facilities well here. Unfortunately no more massage or haircuts offered post-pandemic, but they still offer shower suites for freshening up prior to your flight. Shower suites are incredibly large - with all your soap, shampoo, and conditioner needs. Hair dryer also included in the suite. And plenty of extra towels! Food was tasty, and orderable via QR. I had the butternut squash soup (yummy and sweet!), the grilled salmon (nice and crisp, well seasoned). To drink, I had a yuzu soda, which was similar to seltzer water but with a hint of sweetness (move over LaCroix!). Alcoholic wise I had an Aperoni, which was a Negroni with Aperol - delicious and refreshing! Once 3pm hit, I had a nice afternoon tea set with tea sammies, scone, and some desserts, accompanied with traditional earl grey tea. A lovely experience overall! I had long wanted to visit this lounge, but it's only open to those traveling in long haul business with Virgin, Aeroméxico, or Delta. I finally had the opportunity to visit, and glad I did. This has to be one of the best lounges I have ever visited! Insider tip: if you want to be in a quieter space, the areas near the bathrooms/showers has quieter sections. This is where I was, and I enjoyed every moment of it there. 5 stars!

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular! One of the best lounges by far. The staff is incredible. Very high standard. Polaris lounge is still a favorite but this is a close second. From the private lift to check-in and the wonderful staff, arrival was a breeze. The toilets were extremely clean. The food ordering process was very smart. Pick a table then order what you please. If you prefer more formal the dine in restaurant is also available. Gluten free, kosher and plenty of vegan options.

Yelp
This lounge has ruined other lounges for me, it was soooo nice! I am a Comfort Plus girl that spent the day living in a Delta One world...... so I was impressed by the Virgin Atlantic Lounge. They made the food to order and boy did we order! The staff was so friendly and helpful in telling us what to get. We ordered some breakfast foods, some lunch, some snacks and lots of drinks.... Everything was great! Some stand outs were the champagne, fish and chips, and the Indian foods! I hope to go back one day!!!

Yelp
As with most things, sometimes things get over hyped and will never meet with expectations. Having never been to this legendary lounge, and heard so much about it, I feared this would be the case. That was simply not the case, it lived up to and exceeded all my expectations. Having made the trek from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 (not really a trek because as an AvGeek running in a bus on a massive airport's ramp is heaven) it took me a few minutes to navigate the crush of this busy terminal and its ridiculous number of shops, to get to where I wanted to go and I did not leave and explore like I normally do. After you check in you walk into a massive multilevel lounge. At a mid level there are 2 pool tables, and a final top level is an open air garden overlooking the ramp. Each table, rest area etc has a QR code plaque. You scan it, it brings up a menu and you order to you hearts content from a pretty vast beverage and food menu. The orders all came within 10 minutes of orderings and I will admit I ate way more than I wanted too. Service was excellent and on point: Caesar Salad: Nicely dressed using little gem romaine. While I usually dislike mayo based Caesar dressings this one had the right amount of acid and anchovies taste. The bacon strip was crispy and the lettuce beyond fresh. High Tea: Served in a small picnic box, it featured a usual but paired down assortment of classic things you would expect for one. Also very tasty. Vegetarian Bao: Well fried and quite tasty and they avoided the overly gummy bun. Virgin Redhead: The classic cocktail here it combines Prosecco, berry liqueurs, Bombay Sapphire Gin, and raspberries. I am not a cocktail guy and it was good but I stuck to one. Bloody mary: Nicely prepared and the celery was fresh. Spicy seems to be a whole level of low as I experienced on this trip. The heat barely registered. They make announcements to update you on when you need to leave for your gate so as to not have to wait and continue to enjoy the lounge.

Yelp
Umm, wow! Hot menu orders form the QR code at the table. Fish n chips w mushy peas? No problem!

Yelp
We stopped here on our way back to New York. Everyone in the lounge was super nice....the service was really top notch. I had a breakfast roll with bacon on it which was decent. The coffee was really, really good. Otherwise, I just found it very relaxing and spacious. The views of the planes from the windows is nice. The restrooms are clean and there are a lot of different areas to choose from that fit your need. If you want to get some work done, there's area for that. If you want to rest , there are some peaceful, quiet areas near the back and then there's regular tables and lounge seating so you can take your pick. I'm a fan and now will be spoiled for other lounges.

Yelp
It was a fantastic experience. Arriving from France and hearing our London flight was delayed wasn't that bad when we entered this lounge. Multi levels, various seating and reclining areas, food and drinks easily ordered at tables with their app as well as a great bar, beverate/fruits/cheeses and dessert stations. Immediately upon entering we were greeted and helped with a boarding snafu. The person called the plane, made inquiries and took care of all of our flight needs. She then printed us a boarding pass. We sat in the far left, loungy area where we watched a soccer match and drank champagne while muching on delicious foods. It's a fancy but fun area. They call out your flight information and keep you in-the-know. So you actually get to enjoy your wait. The only danger is; once you've traveled and enjoyed this amenity; you will always want to fly Delta One.

Yelp
Amazing lounge that puts all the delta sky clubs in the US to shame. Not only does the salad bar have a fantastic selection of salads, cheeses, fish, meat and breads, but the menu has a broad selection of made to order dishes. I tried a few and enjoyed everything I had. The champagne was a nice touch (better than the cheap sparkling wine in delta clubs!) and the cosmo cocktail with high end vodka was refreshing.
google avatar

Denise W.

Yelp
An amazing trendy lounge that will make you never want to leave! There is a spread of amazing food-artisan bread, smoked salmon, healthy green juices, yogurt, and more. There is also a separate menu for cooked meals and specialty drinks. There is plenty of space and seating and I was able to find my own nook. They also announce when your flight is getting ready to board. What more can you ask for?

Yelp
Great lounge . On my way way to ATL. No tax free shopping this time Because we don't get the taxes back! So decided to hang out in the Delta Club Roo Melvin was an amazing server! I had the Prawn Laksa so goo!

Yelp
Back in the day, flying coach (on a budget airline) in the back row/middle seat and hanging out at the gate during layovers was my thing. However, between flying Business Class more, buying into the Alaska lounge, and applying my Priority Pass membership, I've warmed up to airline lounges more and more. Unfortunately at times, I'm one of many as some of these spaces have become somewhat crowded and between phone-based business meetings and families, louder. Gayle's and I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time in this Virgin Clubhouse experience (we had a 7 hour layover) as we were transferring at Heathrow as we were flying home to SFO from Johannesburg. Our only quibble was that our flight landed at about 4:30 AM and the Club House didn't open until 6 AM. Then again, Heathrow Security didn't open until 5:30 AM. Luckily, the nearby WH Smith/T3 was open for some magazine shopping and reading. Past all that, the Virgin Clubhouse was a wonderful experience and perhaps one of the best that I had the pleasure to hang out. Gayle and I each enjoyed a nice shower, comfortable seats, a relatively private area, very nice and tasty drink and food options, and incredibly good service. The entire Clubhouse was spacious, well designed, and with great ambiance. I also appreciated the nice selection of newspapers and magazines, which these days is a bit of a throwback. There's great shopping nearby within T3, but with this kind of service and layover accommodation, it's easy to pass up the retail therapy. This lounge will also be a factor if and when we book a future flight that includes London.

Yelp
One of the best lounges I have been to. I missed my British flight connection in London Heathrow and the airline flew me on Virgin Atlantic. Their lounge is amazing so are the planes. They have a full on Reall bar on the plane for the first and business class. A great airline to fly international.

Yelp
My first experience flying Delta One out of London Heathrow and I was able to visit the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse and use Virgin's Upper Class Wing. I've read glowing reviews of this lounge, but none of them do it justice. Just stepping into this gorgeous space and the great quality and numerous food offerings was great. You can either order food items from a menu or visit the counted to a buffet style food service which included charcuterie items. The lounge also included a small open air deck to plane spot. Overall, the staff was great, polite, and very helpful. Compared to all the other lounge I've visited, this has to be my favorite and amongst the top 2 of all time. ( I have not traveled to Dubai, Doha, etc). for more of my reviews check out: https://strictly-travel.com/

Yelp
I've had the privilege of being in many first class lounges over the years. This one is GREAT - from the staff to the food to the champagne, billiards table, exercise machines and space! Love it! Two thumbs up!! Review #36 2021

Yelp
First time visit for me and I see why it's one of the best lounges across the globe. Very spacious, nice ambiance and well designed layout. My work colleague and I stopped by to grab coffee and a small bite prior to boarding our flight. We managed to find a semi-private area to relax but food service took forever. I opted to self-serve (which I didn't mind one bit). It was a bit hectic during my recent, end of Sept - Friday late morning flight. Overall pleasant experience and I look forward to visiting again soon.

Yelp
The club is super clean and very big. The staff is very nice and they have a verity of selections you can eat from. Everything is menu based or you can walk up and make a fresh sandwich. Super clean and nice
google avatar

Donna Z.

Yelp
The best lounge I've been to! Service was amazing and food was delicious. I got the afternoon tea as well as the vegetarian chorizo linguine when I was still hungry. Afternoon tea came in a very cute picnic basket. The chorizo linguine was so good and my absolute favorite! In addition to the things you can order via the QR code, there is a walk up station that serves pre-made pasta salads, fruits, etc. You can also get turmeric shots and ice cream from this station. It was busy when I first got in but cleared out pretty quickly.
google avatar

Candice L.

Yelp
Always exceptional. Staff are fantastic. Food is great. Beds. Showers. A swing. Even a peloton bike for a quick workout if you feel up for it. It's quiet on one side and a little more vibe near the lounge side. A++
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
One of my favorite lounges across the globe! It's a nice place to relax before your flight and enjoy quality foods/drinks. The staff is pleasant and attentive every time. It's worth skipping duty free to head right here.
google avatar

Bee J.

Yelp
I love the service, food, and atmosphere. Such wonderful staff members. It's just always so relaxing getting to the airport early and chilling with good food and a good drink before boarding. The gate is directly across from the club house, making it super easy.

Yelp
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at London Heathrow is everything others have said... and more. Part 1) Atmosphere Terminal 3 is very busy and filled with people, shops and places for food and drink. Step into the Clubhouse and you enter the closest thing to heaven on earth. The service is attentive without being intrusive. Part 2) Food and Drink Yes! The food is prepared to order. Yes! It is tasty! Yes! Healthy options are available. Yes! The bar has a world class selection of spirits, wine and more. Yes! Yes! Yes! Part 3) Areas of Serenity The are places for you to get work done (with fast WiFi), areas to do plane spotting and nooks where one can rest is serenity. Virgin Atlantic knows what travelers want and need. Part 4) In a world where customer service is viewed by business as a cost center, Virgin Atlantic's investment in people shows. The result is customer brand loyalty. In a world where excellence is seldom found or valued, spend time at the Clubhouse during a layover... relax and enjoy a bit of heaven on earth.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty lounge but no showers. Bathrooms are nice though. They have both table side and self service available. They even have exercise machines
google avatar

Birgit W.

Yelp
This lounge is more than a 5star!!!! I could stay hours there.... And, not only for the delicious food and drinks, but also the people working there! They are "alive" ( not robots) having opinions on what to order and are so welcoming and friendly... a Joy!!! Thank you all, and the chefs, for making this place so special!! ( NB: forget the QR code ordering, ask the efficient crew, much better!)
google avatar

Frank T.

Yelp
Hands down, very nice lounge. It's the whole nine yards. Barber shop, spa, massages, shoe maker, food is really good - mostly all gratis. Service is ok. They could use a few more folks around. You don't need my photos here, there's enough around. And, today was the monumental Brexit day, opinions mixed, not touching that hot potato.
google avatar

Erik B.

Yelp
The nicest and most professionally staffed airline lounge I've ever enjoyed. The lounge is very comfortable and has a great food and beverage selection. Best of all, you can scan a QR code at your table and place a food and beverage order and it's delivered right to you.
google avatar

Zaid N.

Yelp
The best lounge I've ever been to! Hands down!! What a great experience and you order food from your seat using the barcode. Great ppl overall and even greater customer service! Loved this lounge

Yelp
Truly a great lounge at London's Heathrow, had a great breakfast and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Very nice way to start off my day of flying:-)
google avatar

Linda Z.

Yelp
Wow. What a disappointment this lounge has become. Gone is the hair salon and exercise bikes are in its place. Gone is the spa and 4 "quiet rooms" are there now (which aren't that quiet since there's still all the hustle and bustle of the rest of the lounge.) As I sit here right now the couple in the room next to me are talking on their speaker phone. Yeah. Totally relaxing. Where the salon receptionist used to be is some sort of hanging chair and backdrop which looks to be for the instagram folks. The tv area chairs have been moved to the Quiet Rooms and replaced with over sized loungers. Come with family or friends or be prepared to cozy up with strangers? I can't really say this place is the gold standard any longer. If the goal was to get people like me to stop coming well ahead of their flights, good job.
google avatar

Joe E.

Yelp
What an experience. Great ambience. Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of room to unwind and wait for your flight. Food was great with many hot and cold options available. Many amenities. Great place to get away from the hectic Terminal 3 at Heathrow airport. One of the best airport lounges I have enjoyed.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
This lounge is phenomenal. I had heard about it before I came and was so thankful I got to spend several hours in it. Design is gorgeous. Book your complimentary spa treatment when you arrive. My head and shoulder massage was lovely. The table service was not as attentive as others have said and I didn't get a tour when I came in. However, the kindness of everyone definitely made up for it. Virgin was celebrating pride and there were drag queens as flight attendants hanging out with people. It's great to see an actual celebration of pride!
google avatar

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
The only time I go to an airport early is for the lounges! This is a very large lounge since they have ~36 flights out each day!! For comparison, SFO only has 2! Dining: the menu seems kind of limited for breakfast but they have a deli bar! Each meal is offered at different times so you have to choose the correct meal. Afternoon tea looks good but I wasn't there during that time. The alcoholic selections sounded super tasty but I didn't want to drink much before the flight. Spa: I don't think they offer complimentary massages anymore? Either that or I couldn't find it listed but I got a complimentary nail filing & cuticle treatment. Book this as soon as you get there as they have limited slots. They have lots of season options available from couches, hanging globe chairs, huge tables, etc,. I also really like their restrooms with individual sinks + cloth towels!
google avatar

Yelp
I've read the LHR Clubhouse is one of the best business lounges, and it didn't disappoint. So how does one get in? Easiest is you need to be flying out of London on Virgin Upper Class, or DeltaOne. You can also get in if you have the highest loyalty tiers with Virgin or Delta. LOL at the review saying they were turned away despite having economy plus. That fare class is a joke anyways. A lounge like this would be packed if they didn't have stringent rules. First thing to do when you enter is take a right and go to the spa to reserve a complimentary 15 minute treatment. There's hair and nail services, but I opted to book a head and scalp massage. It was amazing! I say do this first because they need to put you on the schedule, and you may not get it in time if your flight leave soon. Then you can settle in to the variety of seating options, from dinner seating and tables, to couches, to suspended pods. I love the aesthetic here, especially the tinting of the glass that makes it look like you're putting a filter on the whole place. Open bar, with lots of signature drinks to try out. I tried a special they had for June, and it was delightful. We also got there early (before 11:30am), so I got some Muesli for small pre-flight snack. I was hoping I had more hunger, as the lunch items definitely looked appetizing. There's also a large buffet bar with better than usual offerings at the more casual lounges (anything in the Priority Pass network). If you go up stairs, there's a pool table. If you got another level, there's a little rooftop seating area. This is probably the most neglected section, as the seating could definitely use an upgrade. Pretty bare bones as it is. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because it wasn't mind blowing-ly amazing. I expected some of the other lounges on my list (United's Polaris, for example) will be closer to that. Our service was also a hit or miss. The server was definitely occupied with a larger party in the same section, and didn't have that warm customer service I had seen throughout London.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing. Lots of different options to sit and relax before your flight. You have lots of dining options to choose from their menu that you can order from their friendly staff. You also have the option to go to the various stations for food and beverages as well. Plan ahead when flying through LHR so toy have time to enjoy this lounge.

Rose Leah L.

Yelp
This is the nicest airport lounge I have been to. They have table service, which is nice but it can be a negative if you don't have much time. They do also have a counter where you can tell them which breads/meats/toppings you would like. They have a variety of different seating options: benches, high & low back couches/chairs, long cushy benches that you can lay down on if a nap is required, and dining table seating. They have a nice hot menu & drinks selection that you can order from your table. Bathrooms are clean. This lounge makes me want to fly to London more often just to use the lounge. ;)

Yelp
Phenomenal service (thanks Ellie!!!!!) and good food/drink as well (I had the flatbread and chicken wings....I really want to try the cauliflower wings next time), very comfortable!!!!!

Yelp
WOW - this place was everything and more. The level of service and amount of amenities at this place was insane. I had the luxury of spending a few hours here before my flight and tried to experience a little bit of everything while I was there. I arrived around lunch and found a 2 nice comfy chairs for my husband and I to sit at by a cocktail table. We ordered a round of cocktails and a cauliflower dish, bao bun, and cheese toast. I was amazed at how awesome the food was. The drinks were great too - very nicely made, not too sweet or too strong. Later we moved to the windows and had a great swinging chair and ordered some more food - the chicken tikka masala was pretty bad but the veggie burger was really great. We then wandered around, exploring the spaces and stumbled upon their rooftop "garden." It was cold out but we sat on loungers and watched the hustle and bustle of the airplanes. Its also HUGE that you can access outdoors. Typically once you enter an airport you are trapped inside until you get to your destination. During our down time we each had a complimentary nail shape and buff at the salon. Oh the little things that can make you feel pampered and nice! I highly recommend getting yourself in here - worth the charge if you need to buy your way in (business class only).

Yelp
FABULOUS food and dining experience. Staff is very responsive, but not overbearing. I was equally impressed and amazed by the experience. They have a spa- see below. I really felt pampered! Everything from the general design, attention to detail, accommodations, staff. Luxury . Certainly sets the bar high for other airlines or any business ** One of the very best **

Yelp
Decent airline, no problems. Recommend aisle seating for additional comfort. Good commuter flight.

Yelp
Short Review: Very spacious lounge that is a wonderful perk of flying Upper Class on Virgin. It is an excellent lounge with the distinction of providing spa services before your flight. Long Review: I was not looking forward to my 10-hour flight from London to Los Angeles...until I got to the Clubhouse! The Clubhouses are a great perk of flying UpperClass on Virgin Atlantic. If you're going to pay the money to fly that way, Virgin makes sure you get your money's worth. First off everything except the spa services is complimentary! And they don't slouch on the food and beverage. The meals are chef-prepared and frankly taste better than most high-end restaurants. They have food for all tastes and accommodations. The drinks are of course hand-crafted. The spa services include hair (men and women), nails, and massage (chair only). Each is designed to get you finished within 30 minutes. This is a lovely way to fly, really. I highly recommend splurging if you're going to travel internationally, and I'll be flying Virgin Atlantic again. Outstanding service!

Yelp
Just as an FYI for all of my fellow travelers.... when you spend a few bucks more on Virgin Atlantic and go for premium economy you get to go through security at a special door so short lines.... and you get priority boarding so all good there and you get a bit more leg room so again all good... want to know what you don't get???? Access to the Virgin Lounge in Heathrow.... when you do try and get rejected the snotty person at the counter doesn't even offer to allow you access for a fee.... you have to do the walk of shame... In my mind you are simply ensuring dumb reviews like this one by acting like this...

Yelp
Been to many airline lounges, and this one ranks among the best, if not the best. I have been to a couple of fancier lounges, however they lacked other elements. This one has it all. First, you get greeted very nicely and someone walks you in. If you never been before, they spend a minute explaining their services and what they offer. Listen to them, there is a lot to enjoy. They have several seating areas, each has its own feel and theme. Some are better for working, others are good for relaxing, others are good to watch TV, and others are good to socialize or watch the runway. Etc etc. You get the point. They offer table service for their meals, with a very large selection menu. Feels more like a restautent than a lounge. This is London, so a good selection of tea options. They do have a spa service, as well as a hair salon.

Yelp
The virgin clubhouse at Heathrow is the flagship lounge. When it opened several years ago, it was a sensation. Time has passed and it still a fun lounge but has lost a little bit of its glamour even if the overall experience is still excellent! The elevator leading to the lounge has a leather seat (!)and you are ushered promptly inside. You can have your shoes cleaned if you want ( very British) but the free hair cut ( simple buzz or brushing) now costs 10 pounds. The showers like every other upscale facility are clean. The lounge is quite large and you can settle at the famous long bar or sit in the restaurant. You can also lounge in the back in comfortable seats : my choice and best tip! They have an extensive menu of appetizers , cold and warm dishes and all types of deserts. There is also a salmon and cold cut buffet Within minutes of settling down the servers will come and ask if you made your choices: very efficient to avoid any time hassle: -The burger is quite large and the fries cut thick -The chicken tikka massala came with naan ,chutneys and rice : excellent and not too spicy -The cod with a light cream sauce and peas was moist -The French champagne Lanson was served at the right temperature All the dishes were served in under 10 minutes ( they are mindful of the boarding times) After such a lunch there isn't much else to do on the flight back home to Los Angeles except get some sleep on the 11 hour long trip

Yelp
On your way to anywhere ? Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, LHR. Very nice indeed. Everything from full bar service with top shelf brands, shoeshines, Deli and restaurant. If you're in Biz Class you're invited. Large and inviting. Enjoy.
