Virgin Experience Days

DO NOT BUY THESE Unfortunately, if you are reading this review then you have probably already purchased. However, my experience is clearly a common theme as can be seen from other reviews. My daughter bought me the theatre tickets for Phantom of the opera and three course meal at Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse. I will add that my daughter earns very little, and this was a big purchase for her which makes it all the more disgraceful for me. Once I activated the voucher and looked for dates, basicly not a single date is available. All Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are blocked off, and then I clicked on many odd Wednesdays and Tuesdays even through to October and not a single available booking. Of course no response whatsoever from the Help email. Absolute daylight robbery, and legalised fraud in my opinion. It seems like the way this works is that once you activate the voucher to book a date, you have agreed to the terms etc. And then they will say you can book an alternative experience such as one of the driving days where other reviewers say that you are one of dozens and queue for hours to drive for 30 seconds! Disgusting company, best avoided like the plague.

Broken Website and Clueless Staff! I purchased the ‘Sunday Roast and Wine for Two at a Traditional Pub’ and let me tell you, I’ve never regretted purchasing something online as much as this. What an absolute shambles it has been trying to get it booked and as of today - STILL NOT ABLE TO BOOK! I got the original email with my order and followed the instructions to the letter for booking. Got to the final window on the Virgin Experience website via the booking portal, filled everything out and then it just comes back saying there is an error completing my booking. I tried multiple dates and times - every time it came up with an error. I got in touch via email and explained the issue. Literally detailed everything to them and they come back and say I haven’t activated my voucher. They provided a link to do this (which is fine) and I activated it. However I’ve checked the original email and there was no option to activate anything or any talk of activating anything. Strange. Well after all that, I went to the online booking to try again but unfortunately I got the same error message for any date and times. As you can imagine I’m really beginning to get annoyed but what makes it worse is the utter incompetence from the Virgin Experience advisors. Every time they email they seem to forget everything we have spoke about and I have to repeat it all over again. They attempted to book it themselves with no luck and now I am in limbo awaiting another email with something else I can try. It doesn’t help that they take over 24 hours between each email. What a fun experience this has been so far! You might save a few quid booking an activity via Virgin Experience but seriously, don’t bother. It really isn’t worth the endless hassle. Also, when I was choosing my experience it said there was a location a few miles from me but when going to the booking portal, this location was not listed anywhere at any time or date, so now I have to go to a location 30 miles away as that is the next nearest one. That is of course assuming I ever get it booked. Wish me luck with my experience.

My sister gave me this adventure as a present so I took an elderly gentleman to brighten up his life. We had a thoroughly brilliant day and we acted like 2 naughty schoolboys. The ferry ride was fun as was the steam train to Corfe Castle. My friend loved our day out and so did I and we have decided to go again next summer.

Fantastic and Informative Morgan Motor Manufacturing Experience: Give yourself plenty of time to be transported back in time and enjoy a great day out at the Morgan Motor Company's factory. Led by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, you are taken through the various stages of manufacture of the classic Morgan car range. Watch the highly skilled craftsmen form and build the car from the ground up as you listen to the guide's informative explanation. Spend time in the museum before enjoying a treat or a great afternoon tea in the Morgan café. Head to the showroom and buy your car!!

Absolutely wonderful day out. The Bluebell Railway is fabulous and the work they have done there is amazing. The Wakehurst Gardens were truly beautiful with magnificent trees and something beautiful wherever you look. The flowers in the walled garden were a riot of colour. Excellent.

Avoid by all means. Their experience days are a big BS. Overpriced, and very disappointing and they cover themselves with their T&C’s. Save yourself the trouble and buy a practical gift. I went for the helicopter experience day for two. Impossible to book, took me ages, was forced by the system to pay extra and was promised a cream tea, that does not exist. And once you buy your voucher you are handed over to some subsidiary company called adventure 001 - very poor customer service. Absolutely utter rubbish.

Brilliant afternoon spent driving four different armoured vehicles. Accompanying visitors get to ride on and in some too which really makes a difference to the experience when friends/family go along (costs £10 per head for that but worth it). Teas coffees cakes and biscuits all laid on and the staff and instructors are really nice folk. Don't expect luxury but do expect an excellent experience; definitely recommended!

The Alnwick Gardens - Couples Day Experience with Lunch: Price-included: parking, tours and lunch. Staff were great: we were VIPs. Wow: all the plants, Cascade tour, in the Cherry orchard sitting on a bench swing, Poison Garden (many common trees and plants are scary: Laurel - why women not men should cut them, all of the Yew tree is poisonous and plants dangerous to even touch... Lunch in the TreeHouse restaurant was an outstanding three course meal. There was a good selection and the food was the best we have eaten in a long time. Will go again!!!!
