We will be back. Jason has created a place where we enjoyed the natural island and had everything we needed for comfort. I loved the privacy, surrounded by nature. At night I could feel the constant breeze from the ocean, hear the sounds of nature and enjoy the sound of the early morning rains. The bath and kitchen had everything we needed. The other guests were so friendly. Going to look at the calendar to make our next reservation.

We will be back. I LOVED our screened-in cabin. The common spaces (kitchen and bathhouse) were clean and had everything we needed. Jason is an exceptional host. If you have questions just ask him. Very quiet. You can feel the ocean breeze and the sounds of nature.

My wife and I loved Water Island. This a wonderful Island to walk and explore with stunning views of the ocean, beach, gorgeous flowers. There is lovely white sand beach, with crystal clear water. My wife and I plan to come back.||However, I would not recommend it to everyone.||1) My wife and I liked getting to know the locals (there are only 140 in the island). As there is only one store, one bar, and one place to eat lunch. You will get to know the locals and their dogs. We found everyone friendly but it a small world. ||2) There is a ferry that runs to island from 6 am - 6 PM. The ride which last 10 minutes over very lovely but you are not going to be staying out late on ST Thomas. As everything get pitch black, really early, your not missing much of the natural beauty . .but, if you want night live the island is not the place.||3) You will be doing cooking on Virgin Island camprground, as there are not real options - the food at the One bar and grill is so-so and expensive. The public outdoor kitchen has two burners, a bbz and a sink and is well equipped. I enjoyed cooking there.||Jason - the owner of the campground is friendly and helpful.

100% recommend VI Campground if you're staying on Water Island. The bungalows are very clean and comfortable. The kitchen pavilion and bath house are well stocked and clean. Jason is very accommodating. Will definitely stay here again!!

TOP RATED for the absolute solitude yet feeling of connection. The accommodations were more than we expected, clean, organized with a feeling of environmental connection we’ve ever experienced. We’ve been to ALOT of places on Earth and this was our most favorite

I stayed with my husband, 12yr old, and 2yr old in a cabin at VI Campground and we loved it. Clean cabins, very comfortable beds, and gorgeous views. A veritable dream for folks who don't feel like spending 3k on a week in the carribbean. We had so much fun getting to meet the 2 other families who were also staying on the grounds, and found that the shared kitchen and bathroom space was really not a problem at all. The kitchen space is all open air and quite possibly the most beautiful view I've ever had while making breakfast and lunch. There were lizards, iguanas, centipedes, and turtles to be seen everywhere. | Many people rent golf carts, but we were just fine with walking 10min to the beach and back. It's a steep climb back, so beware if you have injuries or mobility issues. |Jason was incredible. So responsive and thoughtful and helpful. He invited us to a local Christmas eve party and picked us up / dropped us off at the ferry. |I would not hesitate to book here again. Especially with kids!

Upgraded camping experience With all necessities needed. Remote, private and peaceful. If you want to get away from it all this is your place. There are plenty of things to see and do but if by choice you dont want to to be bothered, want privacy or want to feel as if your alone on your own island....... This is the place to go. There is a small store with food and drinks, a beach bar/ restaurant and a hill top restaurant. You can also access the ferry to go into town, St Thomas. The stay rates are affordable and the host /owners are absolutely wonderful.

Yelp
Emailed them and was greeted with an exciting and fast response. After the 3rd email, Deborah completely ghosted me...I followed up with her and ghosted me again. Very poor customer service

Yelp
This place is amazing! A friend and I usually stay at Cinnamon Bay campground in the cabins. Due to the hurricaines, we had to find different arrangements. Thank goodness my friend found this place. It is a piece of heaven! The owners Debra and Paul are very kind people that always have a smile and a joyous greeting. They are full of information about what (if anthing) might be happening on the island. The cabins, 8 total, have the feeling of being in tree houses as they are all tents off the ground surrounded by trees. We have already booked our trip here for next year.

Yelp
If all "camping" were this nice there would be far fewer motels! We stayed four nights in a very nice little cabin, which would have been called a "chalet" in some places I have been. This is seriously "Dude Camping" in comfort. We enjoyed a good bed and pillows in a spacious arrangement (remember, we are not here to stay inside all day). The property is at enough elevation to be cooler than the beach and always have a breeze. This was like an eco-camp. We had power in the rooms with lights on timers to keep them from being left on and so we could be left alone in privacy. There are feral chickens, turtles and lizards galore, as well as wild birds to watch. Be aware the bath and showers are NOT en suite (except for one room) but they are clean, tidy and well kept. The open communal kitchen area was equally clean and pleasant. We had the pleasure of being almost alone here but a crowd would probably have been merely more friendly, not negative. I think all the rooms are within 100 feet of the communal space and bathrooms. This is a place you can be "off the grid" or go up to the communal area to get Wi-Fi connection. I got my daily check in and then went back off the grid. Roger and Dawn, who are now managing were extremely pleasant and helpful. If you like this kind of thing I highly recommend it. If you need your a/c and en suite bath, fine, head back to the resort. We would return here in a heartbeat; in fact, we are already making plans.

Yelp
While the place itself was fairly nice, I had a serious problem with the honesty and integrity of the owner and the manager. At the last minute, we had to cancel our 3rd night there, due to the difficulty and expense of getting back to water island after 6pm. I asked the owner if we could get any partial reimbursement, not really expecting that we would. Instead of just saying no, she lied and blamed hotels.com. I wasted about a half hour calling hotels.com, who said they had no problem reimbursing me but when they contacted her, she refused. I emailed the owner and manager this information and the manager, who had been very nice the single time we met him, then accidentally sent an email to me instead of the owner, saying that we were unpleasant the entire time. This was a blatant lie, and when I emailed back to ask how we had been unpleasant, he didn't respond. Really childish behavior by both of them.

Yelp
We found this gem online and the overall rating was very high. In the listing, it did not advertise that the restrooms were shared- we assumed that each bungalow had a private restroom. So we booked a stay here and it wasn't until afterwards when we received an email from the manager that we realized that there were not private restrooms. I called the manager twice to see if we could make arrangements to have a private restroom due to my husbands disability and they were not able to accommodate us because the one suite that they had (with a private restroom) was not available. After speaking with my husband and his doctor, we determined that there was no way we could make this work with his disabilities. I attempted to contact the manager again to see if they would waive the $300 cancellation fee since our trip was still 8 days away but they refused. We were incredibly disappointed and feel like the advertisement was misleading and needs to be more clear- specifically for those with disabilities. It's unfortunate that our circumstance wasn't taken into consideration when charging the $300 cancellation fee- especially since we made every effort to try to make it work without cancelling.
