11 Best Hikes in Glacier National Park for Every Skill Level

"On this trail, you’ll visit four waterfalls (two named and two unnamed). The hike begins from the St. Mary Falls Shuttle Stop, but you can also start your hike from the St. Mary Falls Trailhead. People love the St. Mary Falls hike for the spectacular 35-foot triple-tiered waterfall, and the fact that you can see several cascades along a single trail. Consider adding Virginia Falls (1.6 miles; easy), another multi-tiered waterfall trail, to your route, by continuing down St. Mary Trailhead."

We all really enjoyed this hike. Not a hard hike, but parking is hard to find. We add an extra mile and parked at the Sun Point Natural Trail. From parking lot take the Piegan Pass trail to Virginia Falls trail head. It is a nice extra mile along beside Saint Mary Lake. You can catch the buses back to the parking lot. This parking lot does have restrooms.

Absolutely stunning falls!!! The hike up to them was so pretty, and the waterfall was breathtaking! Probably my favorite hike at Glacier National Park. So beautiful!!!!

The falls is worth the hike, absolutely stunning. Took my breath away when I saw it, also the crowd makes a lot of difference. When we got there there was no crowd so we had the falls all to ourselves for may be around half an hour. The photos and videos just won’t justify it. One of my best experiences of the glacier.

This was a great hike and a great falls with beautiful scenery every direction I looked. Be sure to head down every side trail or you will likely miss a great pic. Some of the views required a little sure footed work. Take something warmer for the top as the temp drops quite a bit. Click the like button if the review was helpful or if you like the pics. Feel free to share.

This is a great capstone to Saint Mary’s Falls. It is much bigger with lots of smaller falls as you climb up to it. There are great views from the bottom and up top. The trails are in good condition but it is a little steep of a climb up. It felt like never ending views on this trail.

This falls is a must see and experience. My daughter and I hiked here in mid June 2024 and the power and the beauty is a must experience. You can get almost under the falls but the force of the water and the winds were so strong that it made it impossible. It's a refreshing hike on a hot day because you will get wet.
