Visby Logi & Vandrarhem St: Hansgatan

Very mixed opinions about this place. On one hand, the location is excellent and the building has a cozy and quaint style. However, my first impression when entering the room was really negative - there were dirty used earplugs on one bed, dried liquid stains on the door and the condition of the mattress covers and mattress pads on the other beds was poor (very worn, a lot of stains, dirt/debris all over one bed). The beds actually looked so unclean that we decided to vacuum them before we would even consider sleeping there. Therefore I have a lot of doubts about whether the rooms are actually checked before arrival to see if previous occupants have cleaned (there is a 'clean your own room' policy), especially since many guests seem to leave early in the morning to catch the ferry. We actually did vacuum and clean as instructed before leaving, but didn't hear anyone else doing so.||||The rented bed linen did at least seem to be professionally laundered, so once we made the beds, I felt ok about sleeping there. I just don't understand why the owners wouldn't replace disgusting stained mattress covers (the ones they use cost less than $10 at a famous Swedish home store) - a cheap fix that would make a big difference.||||The room was sparsely furnished but had a decent sized closet and two chairs. Common bathroom in the stairwell was spacious and seemed clean. Our private bathroom was *very* small but modern and had good water pressure in the shower. Other common areas like the kitchen looked clean as well. Wifi was fast and steady.||||In the end, my stay was ok, but the initial bad impression lingers and I am annoyed that I had to clean my room both on arrival and departure. A shame because there is tons of potential to be a great place, but I would probably not stay here next time I'm in Visby.

We stayed in one of the little stugas behind the hostel, which was a single room that included a double bed, little kitchenette (sink, fridge, hob), and a surprisingly spacious bathroom at the back. There was easy communication with the hostel beforehand about how to get in, and when we arrived everything looked clean and lovely. We had a great time!||||The location is excellent, right in the middle of town and five minutes walk from one of the main squares - two minutes from good breakfast/dinner places and a great tea/coffee/chocolate shop. Would recommend.

location is great, and near to the tourist center and walkable from the ferry (uphill). shared toilets were clean and bed was comfortable (though you need to bring your own linen). a very good crepe place for dinner was just beside it too!

Cheap, clean, cosy, central, rooms with nice view and enough space for some days! I could not be happier with my choice. Will certainly come back to Visby and try to book this hostel again!||Kitchen has all the facilities, and in the Summer, you can enjoy the nice terrace and have a barbecue, even keep your bikes there if you rent them!||Walking distance if you come by ferry, and even if you come by plane (4 km), in Winter, when there´s no bus to the city.

We had a great time there. Really close to all attractions in Visby. Cheap, great room, clean. We stayed at the top room, third level. We have not seen anybody that worked at the hostel, only other guests. But all informations were given by e-mail, so, we didn't have any problem.

This was a wonderful option for our two families! It was economical, well-located in the city, and nicely furnished. Linen rental was a little pricey. Next time we will be sure to take advantage of the kitchen.

Visby Logi is more like a B&B than a hotel. I stayed on the ground floor of their three level, 6 room accommodation, in a spacious, clean, warm, comfy and nicely decorated room. There is a decent sized dining room, well equipped kitchen and a small courtyard with bike storage space- basically, everything that you need. I did encounter one problem; I hadn't been sent the access code to get into the building, and when I called Visby Logi for assistance no one answered. However, Visby Logi was absolutely willing to reimburse me financially for the trouble encountered, and I had no other issues with them.

Fantastic location, clean and modern rooms/kitchen/bathroom, owner was reliable re emailing us details on how to get into the room. Can get a bit crowded in kitchen/living area when accommodation is full, but that is manageable.
