What others have said about the beautiful view and also noisy setting is true as it’s on a main road in a gorgeous part of gorgeous Norway. I wish we’d asked for a better view but that said, our room was absolutely lovely and the attention to detail in this hotel is wonderful. Unexpected and interesting touches throughout. The staff is warm, welcoming and helpful - even during a very unusual heatwave. The food was an unexpected surprise. Excellent dinner as well as superb breakfast. Don’t miss the home made nougat, honey or jams. The smoked salmon was the best we’d had so far. Everything local.

We stayed at Visnes for 3 nights during a 3-week trip through southern Norway, and we loved it. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We desperately needed to do laundry, and they kindly let us use the facilities free of charge. The hotel is charming and authentic, and we loved the rooms. The porch offers a lovely view, and the lobby is warm and welcoming.

Hello, I want to say on behalf of many travelers who love Norway that you are champions!! At a time when there is a war in Israel, you agreed to be flexible and not charge money from Israeli travelers who booked accommodation with you, and the free cancellation period has passed. You showed humanity!! Caring!! Compassion!! You didn't just chase the money. We will remember this and always, all of us on the Norway Traveler Forum and on other platforms, will recommend accommodation with you. Well done 👏👏🤩🇮🇱

We had dinner here while visiting. Easily the best food we ate during our Norway trip. Recommend the Ling! The hotel staff, chef, and owner personally checked on us and wished me happy birthday.

Excellent older style hotel, very comfortable and clean. Food in the restaurant is wonderful and the breakfast was great too. Staff are extremely helpful with suggestions of routes to take and things to do.

I struggled with this review because I wanted to love this hotel so much. On the upside, the service was superb. The owners have poured their hearts into creating a hotel that is amazing. And it is. The hotel is historic with vintage antiques everywhere. Breakfast was good, but dinner was amazing, the best I’ve had in Norway. The rooms were large and spacious. The bathroom was especially large and nice. The walls were paper thin and normal conversations could be heard with ease through them, but it is an old hotel. My real issue is that the hotel sits right next to a main local road with traffic whizzing by up until late in the evening. With no AC, we really had to keep the windows open and thus heard cars and trucks during most of our visit. Yet, I still recommend this beautiful hotel over others in the area.

The hotel is located about half a mile outside of Styrn in Norway. It is a historic hotel with the main construction being of wood. Outside there is a balcony from where distant views of the fjord can be had. At night, when sunny this would be a nice place to sit and relax. ||Rooms are comfortable and are incoming with the building fitted out with old furniture. The room that we stayed in was large with an extra room provided for children. The beds were comfortable. There was a modern bathroom with a walk in shower. There are no TVs in the rooms, however, there is good wi-fi available to hotel; guests. Indeed it may be asked that with internet and VPN if many people actually watch TV now in hotels. Rooms did not have kettles either which in a wooden building is understandable. ||Breakfast was served in a lovely old dining room. There was ample choice of foods available. Some of this was home made which was nice. ||There is ample free parking close to the hotel. The only point to note is that there are some steps leading to the entrance. ||We were met by the hosts at reception who proved to be friendly and efficient.

1- Very helpful and polite owner at the front desk. He really made a great effort to make our stay great||2- Great location. Clean rooms with fresh clean towels and nice collection of soap and lotion. The family room in the barn was newly built and smells fresh wood sandal||3- The hotel is a big vintage style house that looks like the ones from the victorian era. This makes it really charming||4- We experienced some minor technical issues in one of the two rooms we booked, but the moment we informed the owners at the front desk, they resolved them all very quickly. Very attentive and responsive owners||5- Hotel buildings have no AC. I would not consider it important since weather in western Norway is cool all year long and opening the window can do so. However, noise from the near road was annoying||6- Breakfast can be improved a little bit. For example, having more hot dishes and more varieties will make breakfast very good
