nice little park beside the highway and close to the beach, the stairs are close by. it’s on a steep hillside nice for picnic with your blanket and you can even bring your hammock. there are picnic tables across the bottom of the park, a playground for the kids and you can see the planes fly above!!!

I love coming here! I come about 2-3x a week! I love to be here grounding and watching the sunset 🌅! I bring my niece and nephew to play. The love they can see the water and the airplanes ✈️ flying by! Set up a little picnic and enjoy the day u til sunset!

This was my first time stopping at this park, and I'm a native to the area. It was also my daughter's and granddaughter's first time. Parking is limited and not easy on this busy street. Bring a blanket and a picnic and lay down to watch the planes take off overhead. Beautiful ocean views. Two picnic tables and a small child playground with a swing set & slide.

Parking can be a challenge and it’s not the prettiest park but it’s nice enough to kick back with friends or to bring some kids to explore and have fun. Close to the beach and lots of planes overhead to keep you entertained. I always bring supplies on trips so I had everything I needed to enjoy a fine Friday at Vista Del Mar Park!

This is a great park to visit. You are right across the street from the beach just west of LAX so the planes fly right over. there's a small jungle gym and swings for the kids to play on in the park is steep on a hill but still enjoyable for a BBQ

My go to. Cant smoke here really. Hella windy. Reliable porter potty. Russell brand went there in “Get him to the Greek” to pontificate on his music career direction lmao

You can watch the plane take off and fly over the ocean. It's pretty cool. Very chill playground area that overlooks the ocean. It's very unique. Street parking only and it's always so crowded.

What an awesome park right by the water! Coming here one random night to chill take in the cold night by the water with the occasional plane flying over like you really can't go wrong! This was a mellow place we just chilled played some guitar and sang old songs for a few hours like you really can't go wrong with a cool place like this that's perfect for everyone as there is a playground and plenty of parking! Overall cool park I Hope to visit again at some point as it was just an awesome time!

Very few parking spots in front of this small park. There's poop everywhere on the grass. There is homeless and people smoking or getting high in their cars. There's about four or five picnic tables here all spread out. Through the fence you can see what's left of Surfridge.

For the most part, I love this beach! It's an easy walk, my friends and family love going and my dog can always find a stretch of beach to play ball. My main and really only issue is the trash. There are plenty of trash cans but there's always so much trash and it's so disheartening. I wish there were tools we could rent to help pick it up....we tried taking bags and filing them up but took so much sand with it! Still a beautiful and easily accessible space

Meet some old friends last Friday, we hadn't seen one another in a year with Covid..Being seniors we all had our shots and decided it was time...We enjoyed ourselves & this little gem of a park... I grow up in nearby Westchester in the 50's, 60's and had friends in Playa Del Rey, yet never did I go to this little park...Glad we did and we're doing it again towards the end of March, when a few other friends will have had both vaccinations & waited the extra 14 days... If you've never been here, come...Great views of the beach, directly across the street and it's not so busy during the week...Only one negative, parking, people use the PCH street parking for the beach as well, so keep that in mind... A great little find...4 out of 5 stars..

I don't know how they did it in the middle of a pandemic. Yes the original underground DJs from the 90s got together and put on a show for everybody at the beach. Everybody was social distancing. It was fun But I kept my distance though.

I am *really* conflicted about this park. On the one side it has several pluses: the views of the ocean are beautiful and the park is directly under the flight path for LAX so it's really cool for kids (of all ages!!!) to watch the planes take off. I could have sat there for hours on the swing watching them. Other highlights of the park included plenty of bench seating and a large grassy area for running around and playing. There was also a portable restroom at the park - but I try to stay away from those. There are cons to the park though - first of all it is small with only one small slide. Also it is a bit dated and could use a fresh makeover and to have the cracks in the floor fixed up. Parking is also limited to the street (which is busy) and probably has room for about 10-12 cars max if no one parks like a jerk. Additionally the traffic flow is fast paced - which always makes me nervous. We did have fun at this park though - I couldn't imagine staying here all day (due to the small size) but it was fun to spend an hour there watching the planes go by and watching my son enjoy waving at them.

A small patch of green land sandwiched between the west end of LAX (you'll catch a steady stream of aircraft takeoffs) and Dockweiler Beach on the Pacific Ocean. The park sits up high so you have a beautiful view of the water below. Tall palm trees, picnic benches and a small play area round out this park.

Awesome park that stretches along the marina. Perfect for a bike ride, run, walk.. or to simply sit-down and enjoy lunch.

i love it the sunset is so beatiful and the water is cold but the birds and the sunset is very nice

Vista De Mar Park is a small park with gorgeous views of Dockweiler State Beach. This park has a playground, picnic tables, restrooms (porta potty) and street parking in front of the park. Bring your family/friends lookup and watch the planes take off.

Perfect place to come if you have little ones that want to play at a park but you as the adult want some ocean vibes. What I love about thins place it has a beautiful view of the ocean! Like literally the whole ocean! It's gated up so no worries of kids running out the street. Very cute but also breath taking park. Myself and my kids enjoyed ourselves. Definitely coming back.

Whilst waiting for a friend to finish an interview at LAX, I decided to hit the beach! (That means I got lost trying to find something else and found the Pacific Ocean.) This park is directly along the Pacific Ocean, and directly under LAX's 24L departure. It's a beautiful park. Very small, but just right. Parking on the street is free on both sides. The views are AMAZING, including Santa Monica, Malibu and the ocean. My favorite part, seeing gigantic friggin' airplanes take off. I'm a big fan, and I'm sure others are too, especially children. The park has 3-4 benches, a portable restroom (not sure why there aren't permanent facilities), a playground with child-safe squishy flooring material, and lots of cool palm trees. Separately, this park could be extremely freaky. It's a tiny square of green land surrounded on 3 sides by gated & chained off dead land that has remnants of paved roads. It is VERY much like Silent Hill (ala Centralia, Pennsylvania). Anybody know what was on these deserted roads before Silent Hill breached into our time-space continuum? Hit me up! It looks like they might have been planning houses, but then LAX came along. I'm not sure, but I absolutely love it.

Gorgeous, tiny little pocket park that overlooks the ocean. It's set on a slope -- a little quiet patch of green with a mini playground and several picnic benches .... and with no one around, you get to share the space with nature's little pets - hard working family of foraging squirrels, black phoebes, baby lizards. My lunch buddy today was a pristine glaucious-winged gull who confidently waddled over to me as I bit into my steak sandwich. We just shared a few furtive glances....i wasn't about to turn my friend into a beef eater :) Perfect spot for quiet sunshine to catch up on reading. (if you don't mind the sporadic planes flying overhead).

Nice little quiet park - swing, small park features and few benches. No bathroom. The perk is the close view at the departing planes (tho can be really loud) and ocean view. Ample Parking on the road. A little before dogweiler beach if driving toward Manhanttan beach

Nice family park. Quiet and clean. The bathrooms were especially clean, ALWAYS a nice touch for a public place like a park. This place is well maintained too. Great hide-a-way park for the family.
