I visited Hotel Vista in Ostuni on August 2nd 25 for an aperitivo with my companion. The hotel had recently been recommended to me and, as I understood, it opened just 2–3 weeks ago. While the building and location are undeniably beautiful, unfortunately, the rest of our experience was very disappointing. Here are the main reasons:
Snacks quality: The sparkling wine was served with snacks, but the nuts and chips were not crispy at all — they were soft and stale, as if they had been left out too long or were from the day before.
Poor value for money: €100 for two glasses of sparkling wine and a few snacks is completely unreasonable given the quality of the offering.
No Amex accepted: It’s disappointing that a hotel of this category does not accept American Express cards.
Poor service: We sat for at least 15–20 minutes with empty glasses, and none of the servers walking by asked if we wanted to order anything else. This was very weak service.
Uninspiring view: The view of the city is not ideal. The roof extends beyond the façade and partially blocks the view of the old town. Overall, the seating should have been oriented toward the sea and the historic center — where, strangely, the architect only placed some flower beds.
Construction site pool: This didn’t affect us personally as we weren’t hotel guests, but with nightly rates around €1,000, I would be very disappointed to find the rooftop pool still an active construction site.
Conclusion: Overall, we were not happy with our visit. The entire experience was not up to the standard one would expect from a Leading Hotel of the World.
