VISUALS Rooftop Bar

I was excited to go to this bar. I drove 6 hours to go here for my birthday, but me and my group were cut off after 2 drinks. I asked if we were cut off, and was told yes. Bartender was respectful, but he told me I was cut off. I had no idea why. I was sober still, respectful, and me and my wife just said thank you and left drove home because we had 2 drinks over 3 hours. The only thing I could think is I was discriminated because I am colored. I wouldnt have imagined I would feel like that in Asheville, but I cant think of anything else. This is the night of, if that attest for how sober we were. Maybe I misunderstood, I hope I did. but I cant think of anything else. My reactuons with the bartenders before we're great and joking around. Not sure what happened. Maybe I just shouldn't go to Asheville again.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner here and would 100% do it again! The space was gorgeous - overlooking the mountains and part of downtown. The sun sets on one side of the event space as well, which made it very special. The staff was easy to work with and very attentive, not to mention the reservation fee was very reasonable. That was a welcome surprise in a popular town like Asheville. Lastly, the drinks were great, which was the most important part! Thank you, VISUALS, for a night we'll never forget!

Seating on the rooftop is mostly made from two by fours — not exactly comfortable or conducive to conversation. Food is mostly nonexistent. Three tiny appetizers… Nuts, olives, beans. Clearly they just want you to order the $16 cocktails. But don’t have too many because you’ll have to use the bathroom… Which inexplicably has only a black light. True. It is impossible to see what you are doing (or where), much less to wash your hands. It’s not just a strange experience, but an uncomfortable one and certainly not up to the hygienic standards you would expect at a restaurant. Burial has a great reputation for beer. But I think they can do a lot better in the hospitality department.

We hosted welcome drinks for our wedding at VISUALS Rooftop Bar and couldn't be happier with the decision. For a reasonable fee, we were able to reserve a significant portion of the rooftop with our own dedicated bartender serving (very good) beer and wine. We were happy with the fast communication and easy booking process, and our guests were thrilled with the event overall. I dropped off an easel and welcome board earlier in the day, and the team had set it all up by the time guests arrived. Best of all, the VISUALS patio gave our group a great view of the mountains during sunset, and it was a perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend.

Surprisingly disappointed. This was one of my favorite spots for sunset cocktails until now. It's walking distance from my home, dang it. They accidentally let me into a ticketed, sold-out event, then kicked me out when they discovered I didn't have a ticket. I didn't know it was ticketed; I walked in the way I always do. They offered to comp my single beer bar tab for the very awkward inconvenience, but I WAS CHARGED anyway. Also, who literally sells tickets to capacity? You always leave room for single VIPs and family randos, don't you? I loved this place, but now it's just spoiled.

Nice and quiet! It's overlooking area with live music downstairs. Full bar and a good selection of drinks to choose from.

Beautiful view and venue. No crowds--in South Slope! Very friendly and accommodating staff. It's not just a wine bar--they make excellent cocktails. You can bring food up for Good Hot Fish downstairs. No one should ever visit, because it's such a super secret spot!!
