Vito's Sicilian Pizzeria & Ristorante

I’ve never been so inclined to review a restaurant until today. We went to Vito’s last night before a show at the Fox. We had to sit at the bar because we didn’t make a reservation, totally fine. The bartender, whose name I unfortunately did not get (young man maybe early to mid 30s, short black ponytail) was phenomenal. He was personable, gave great recommendations on the food, never acted like we were bothering him even when it got busy and made the best espresso martini Ive ever had. We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer. I have never liked raw tomato, but I do after today lbvs. And then we ordered one of the Sicilian pizzas (italian sausage, spinach and ricotta). The cook time on those pizzas was longer but it came out in a very timely manner and was hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust, the sauce 🤤. You could tell everything was authentic and homemade. The food was amazing but I am mostly here to lobby for the bartender to get a raise because he took our experience from a 10 to a 20 just by being him.

I had a Ceasar salad. It was good size. The gave us 6 house baked pieces of bread with olive oil, Italian seasonings, and parmesan. I had the spinach, tomato, and mushroom pizza. I asked them to make it with olive oil and they obliged. Claire was our server. She was outstanding.

Our group of four dined here, one evening prior to a show at the Fox theater. In the past, we've had a great experience, however, that was not the case this time. The server was impolite, the service was very very slow. After 30 minutes we had to ask for our salad, at which point we found out that our order was lost and never made it to the kitchen. The server never apologized, but rather made excuses about how busy they were. After another 30 minutes and no food, we then asked for the manager who never came to our table or offered an apology. The food was finally delivered (pizza was hot, seafood ravioli was not). Our sever finally came back and informed us that our bill had been taken care of. We thought that the manger had handled it and didn't charge us for the inconvenience. We left a generous tip considering the service we received only to find out later that a family member called in and paid for our meal without our knowing. Needless to say, we will not be back - not because of the food but because of the lack of service from both the manager and the server. They charge too much for us to be treated as an insignificant customer.

Visiting from out of town. The Washington University staple is a must. Good food, good service, good value. I'm particularly fond of the eggplant pasta and the wine list is way better than you'd expect.

My family (me, husband, 3 young kids) decided to try this place for their pizza and variety of dish options- we are visiting the area. Our waiter was amazingly attentive. I ordered the Seafood ravioli and I was not disappointed. I loved the cream sauce and the meal really hit the spot. Everyone else ordered a pizza and they loved it. My 10 year old sons told me to make sure I rate them a 5 star for the fun music that was played in the background too. Thank you for a great experience!

a great place to sit and have a great drink and even better meal. the staff here is amazing and the patio is beautiful

I want to give 5 stars because it is a nice place with good service. I've only tried 3 different plates but one seemed to be missing some flavor the other was overpowering. The bread that they give you with your meal however is amazing dipped in the olive oil and whatever the dark sauce is on a plate that comes with it. All in all though a very nice place to eat. Can get away with a nice t shirt if you had to but wouldn't be overdressed in a suit.

The lunch buffet was awesome. The house made Caesar dressing had the perfect hint of anchovy. The fresh croutons were outstanding! The pizzas were fresh, hot and delicious. Fresh crust cooked crispy. Great variety of topping combinations. Highly recommend!
