One of the top rifugio’s we stayed in. Beautiful location with plenty of walks to do from the hut. The food was very good as well. Hotel quality. Quite exceptional. The staff is very friendly. The rooms offer a lot of privacy. Would recommend.

We hiked up here just for lunch and the view - service was great. They have a lot of hot meals, great coffee, cakes and draught beer & wine (everywhere you go in Italy no matter how bloody remote, you can count on there being an excellent selection of alcohol). The view and hike up here is fantastic. We saw so many ibex!

Beautiful hike up to this place. Overall it’s a nice stop but the toilets are a bit 1920s with a strong smell coming from em. Restaurant Bar area is nice and cozy. Typical cabin food up there, polenta with almost every dish. Hike up, wet your beak and then be on your way

One of the best rifugio’s where we’ve been. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were with 2 and we got a room for 2, which was amazing. Dinner was great, atmosphere was cozy. Beds were cozy, we had a socket in our room. No wifi or signal, but if you walk 20 meters to a slightly higher place, you can make calls. Breakfast was very good. Great rifugio, would stay again!

great service (the manager directed us towards a local guide who could answer some of our hiking route questions), great food, in ample quantity, and great atmosphere with the group of young scouts occupying the 2nd building nearby.
Yet more expensive than the rest of Gran Paradiso NP rifugi - and strange to see so much packaged food around - we know of other mountains huts in other countries, at exactly the same altitude, with chickens and a 0-waste policy.

This rifugio lies in a fantastic place. The mountains are rough and beautifull. Get up early to see the sun rise and you'll probably see several capricorns. The hike to the hut is as beautifull and simple. The hut itself is basic in the way a mountainhut should be: you can have something to eat, you can get a drink and you can spend the night. It's the lack of overrated luxury that defines the special atmosphere in rifugios/berghütten/mountainhuts. Please don't change!

This is a great place to visit. The route starts in the valley from Valnontey. It takes between 2,5 and 3,5 hours to reach the rifugio depending on how much time you spend looking at the waterfalls, watching the numerous butterflies or reflecting about the abandoned pastures. The rifugio offers local food, especially polenta with different options to choose from. I had a piece of blackberry tarte and a double espresso. The panorama is for free. Going down to the valley will take another 2 hours, if you take your time.
