I was looking for a small resort to take my children on their first international vacation. This resort was perfect for us. It wasn’t super busy or crowded, everyone was very helpful. There was plenty of games and entertainment. It was easy to get seats by the pool or beach. Rooms were clean. If your looking for a small and simple resort, this is perfect

1st I will say that Speedy is the absolute best and very entertaining! We don’t normally leave reviews but feel this resort needed it! KIDS EVERYWHERE! It’s like the advertise on the local news surrounding Puerto Plata to give daily specials to bring your kids because there were always at least 50-75 a day in the pool! Nobody speaks English or understands English because most all of the people that visit this resort are from the DR! Rooms smelled like sulphur and had mold!! No hot water only warm and barely running water in bathroom sink. Don’t bother reading the drink menu at the bar because they either don’t know how to make it OR they don’t have the right ingredients! Food was really good for an all inclusive and Italian restaurant was the best! Nobody tells you what restaurants you need reservations for so thank goodness we were Wyndham owners and got right in! Don’t plan on going to bed early at all because the club insight is loud as heck until midnight! You are constantly bothered on the beach by locals trying to sell things which I don’t normally mind, because there’s always a deal for souvenirs but it was as least 10 people a day asking. Won’t go back!!

My family and I had an amazing experience at Viva Wyndham Resort! the receptionist, Sofia, was very professional and helpful. She made sure that we were comfortable and taken care of during the check in and check out process. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The staff were very hospitable and friendly. I wish there was more food selection in the buffet, but over all quality of the food was good. We recommend this to our friends and family.

The service was great. Everyone was very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. Several activities to choose from, even with a toddler. Ernesto was great at showing us all the activities we were able to do as a family. We really enjoyed the monkeys and the buggies. The beach was beautiful. The food was very delicious and they offer a wide verify of food. The drinks were great as well.

My rowdy group of almost 30 people arrived on a quiet Tuesday for a family trip which also happen to fall on my birthday. ||The front desk handled every personality perfectly from quiet anxious cousins to my robust Dominican mother. And me somewhere in the middle a bit serious and tired from traveling all day. They congratulated me when they saw my passport and our entire party was upgraded into suites. Awesome start. ||We arrived at the suites and were suprised to see just how much room they had! Couches to lay down and a balcony to lounge on. The water was hot the shades were black out. For me, this is enough and I am happy as I plan to spend most of my time between the beach and pool. However some would consider it a bit outdated. There’s no marble surfaces for example but again it’s a beautiful foundation and for me it was perfectly fine. ||Around the poool the drinking began. The kids were entertained with games, and the adults with bachata lessons. We all played bingo as a family as well and my dad was excited to win the game! The next day after the beach we went back to the poool and took a Zumba class that made us work up a sweat! ||In the evening we strolled about and for dinner there was a special event happening with dinner set around the pool. After there was a cola cabana style show which was so entertaining! The cabanas are right by the pool so you could relax and watch too. ||When I return to my room I was suprised with a cake some champagne and little gifts from the staff. They made me feel so special and I appreciate them a lot for thinking of me. ||I would say this is the perfect middle tier resort to visit for those with big families who generally want to move slow and be on island time, and it comes with a staff that is friendly and entertaining. ||BONUS you have some cool tourist spots near by like little Dominican Greek town just 30 min away. There’s also Paseo De Dona Blanca just 15 min away.

I came here as a part of my graduation trip. It was me (Eadaoin), Camila, Alanah, Selena, Tara, Mel, Mika, and Penelope. When we first arrived, we were greeted by wonderful staff and tasty juice. Once we were checked in, we met our friend Wendy. She helped us plan all of our excursions since we booked through Expedia. She was very helpful with everything!|When arriving to our rooms, they exceeded our expectations by being much larger than expected. That was much needed for having 4 girls in each room. For the activities available at the hotel, there was something to do each day. Some of the things we participated in were: bachata lessons, water aerobics, yoga, games like bingo and uno, competitions, a pool party and many more! The staff was very welcoming and we all felt that we made new friends along the way. The food options were good everyday but many of the restaurants open on the weekends with reservations needed. Overall, our experience at Viva Heavens is something we will always remember. We especially want to thank Henry (Speedy), Alexander, Sara, Isa, Monica, Samir, and many more for making our trip unforgettable!! We will definitely be back again soon:)

I stayed with my family for three days, and the facilities, food, and beverages were very good. The staff is very efficient, respectful, and kind. I have a special mention for Ms. Rafaelina. She is part of the housekeeping staff. Rafaelina is a great professional and a lovely person. Another very valuable person was Ms. Sara of Cafe Heavens; she makes the best coffee in the world! These people make a great difference in the staying experience.

Most of the advertised facilities were closed during my stay. Out of the five restaurants listed, only one was open for the first four days, and only two were open for the remaining three nights.||The Aqua Center was open only on Saturday and Sunday. No activities were held on the beach or by the pool at any point during the week.||Regarding the amenities, 11 English-language TV channels had no sound, and despite reporting the issue, nothing was done to fix it. The internet did not work on the beach for four full days, and for the remaining days, it only worked near the beach restaurant with constant interruptions.||Additionally, the beach restaurant was under renovation for four days (replacing the wood floor), creating constant noise from cutting and sanding tools. The surrounding beach area was covered in wood dust, making it unpleasant to relax.||The lobby was also under renovation for two days.||The food quality throughout the resort was mediocre (few options at the buffet for breakfast and lunch but a bit better for dinner) . We were obliged to use the a la carte restaurants for 4 nights, since they were the only one operating. One each night while the buffet was closed. I do not recommend any of the a la carte restaurants. The food is either too salty ( all ceviche, tartar, carpaccio) , beef steaks impossible to chew, chicken and pork just basic. Even the Dominican à la carte restaurant was disappointing. I was expecting more, since the Dominican dinner buffet on Friday evening was actually good.||As for the drinks, all is domestic and low quality ( for example tequila doesn’t taste like tequila) and to have premium ones , one must have the Viva membership which is a sort of prepaid vacation in 5, 10 , 15 years costing from 10000 to 30000 US dollars and paid in advance ( during the first 6 months). ||I spoke to a manager about these issues. She simply apologized and claimed the renovations had been announced, which is not accurate—there was no mention of any construction on the hotel website or from the travel agency that booked the stay.||I understand that maintenance work is sometimes necessary, but guests should be informed in advance so they can make an informed decision before booking.||||All in all, this was the worst vacation I’ve ever had. I definitely overpaid for what I received.||The resort is in poor condition overall. The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained.
