A wonderful hotel and a fabulous Mexican experience for my family. ||From start to finish the staff and hotel were brilliant. ||A very special mention for Gerard and Imelda in the Buffet Restaurant who treated us like royalty every single day for breakfast and lunch, making our stay extra special. They were amazing! ||The pool bar, snack bar and the A la Carte restaurants were fantastic too! Nothing too much trouble for staff. The coffee and treat at Cafe Maya were gorgeous. Entertainment and animation team were also phenomenal, even the ladies in the onsite store were lovely. |We absolutely loved it and we cannot wait to get back 🇲🇽

We spent a wonderful week at this resort. Everything from the welcome to check out was excellent. Our room was extremely clean and silent. Food was very good. We ate in 3 of the restaurants other than the buffet. (Which also had a great selection of food to suit all dietary requirements). The Cosmopolitan was incredible and the Don Diego also.|The resort itself is super clean, and the rooms serviced daily. We met some lovely local animals around the resort and beautiful birds. Highly recommend and will return. Thank you for a beautiful stay.

Viva Maya is a great resort. Although there are issues with the beach and the sargassum, the staff was wonderful in terms of providing entertainment, and many activities for the guests to enjoy. The rooms are very clean, and it was great to have a coffee bar. The service was amazing. Some of the activities that I enjoyed were Pilates with Christine from nrg2go, Zumba with Brandon, and many of the pool games with the whole entertainment staff. The shows at night were good. The resort itself is beautiful. I'm looking forward to going back soon.

This is not a 4 star resort, 3 star at max and we are not as fussy as most. I will categorize segments pros & con's.|Check in:|Pros...Very smooth, no issues at all.|Cons...No concierge to carry bags to room which we had NO idea where it was. took a while to find it.|No welcome cocktail.||Room:|Pros..comfortable, clean, & and air conditioning keep up as it was 93 every day. Bed & pillows were comfortable as well.||Main buffet:|Pros..NONE|Cons..No theme night, same food basically every night.|Worst desert spread I have ever seen.|No hostess to seat you, it was a free for all and a cluster..|Not enough employees to keep up with cleaning tables, getting coffee, drinks, etc...|Employee appeared to be unhappy working there. No smiles on most employees.|Not one thank you for tipping, not one.||Grounds:|Pros..well maintained|Plenty of small wildlife to observe.|Restaurants blended into the walkways which was scenic.||Pool:|Pros..clean, well maintained.|Cons..no waiter service around pool or beach|Swim up bar lacked a bartender most of the day which lead to LONG lines at the upper bar, with very slow bartenders.||Beach:|Pros..very nice, beautiful with plenty of chairs.|Cons..Again, no waiter service, long way to bar. Empty dishes & glasses lying all around seating area, very messy.||Check out:|Pros..Fastest checkout ever.|Cons..Once again, no concierge and it was a hike to the front desk.|Our departure was at 7:00AM. Breakfast buffet is suppose to open at 6:00AM, opened at 6:30 with only fruits & yogurts...no hot food and coffee was scarce. ||Overall, again, not a 4 star resort.

This resort was amazing!! The staff are so friendly and work very hard to serve the guests. The food was fantastic. The room service was top notch! Everything about this resort was 5 star. The entertainment teams at the pool and the beach were great. We started our day with yoga on the beach and then aqua exercise with Christine from NRG2GO! It was amazing. Laura, Brandon, Caro, Jesus, Leo, Willy, Aaron, Hazel, ran a lot of fun activities. Rodolfo and Gerardo were great at the sports desk. The shows were good. The grounds are impeccable. Front desk staff are great. We will definitely return to this resort.

I recently stayed at Viva Maya and unfortunately, I wouldn’t return. While the flight and transportation were smooth and the hotel staff was genuinely kind and hardworking, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The room was clean, which I appreciated, but everything went downhill from there. The buffet and restaurants were an absolute disaster. I’ve visited Mexico several times, and this was by far the worst food I’ve had. Even the à la carte restaurant, which required a reservation, was disappointing. Another major issue was the noise. The nightly entertainment music was so loud we couldn’t get to sleep until after midnight. If you’re hoping for a restful vacation, especially as an older traveler, this is not the place for you. The resort itself is quite small with only one pool. Unless you’re a Viva member, you’re forced to lay on the beach without access to shaded areas or umbrellas. Would I go again? No. Was it worth the money we spent? Definitely NO

First and last time visiting Mexico if this place is anything to go by.||On our initial arrival it took over 1 hour to check in, the reception staff were extremely slow and did not give us any information about the hotel itself, even where the restaurant was situated. There was no information or signposts I had to go online to find out any information, such as restaurants, pools etc.|The pillows on our beds were soft but smelt of smelly heads.||Food was disappointing and when we booked for one of the other restaurants on site, the food was brought from the main buffet, carried on open trays and at one point the tray was so over loaded the waiter carrying it dropped the whole tray with plates smashing and hitting my leg.||There is no ice lollies or ice cream available throughout the day, how on earth is this classed as an all inclusive is beyond me.||The beverages being served have never seen alcohol and the plastic beakers that the drinks are served in at the pool bar have definitely seen better days.||The pool's filter system did not work, there was a guy who come around the pool taking the tops off the filter holes and put his hand in and pulled out the debris/insects, by 12 moon the top of the water looked like an oil slick with all the sun lotion floating on top due to the lack of a working fillteration system. We were unable to relax around the pool due to the animation practicing the dance routines for the evening entertainment, the stage, which was made of wood, when the team were practicing the routines I can only describe as a heard of elephants.||Our last day couldn't come soon enough, on our return I passed on all the feedback to the travel agent who have said that they will not be recommending this hotel again.||The only consolation was the wild life and some of the waiters who were very pleasant. 4 star not a chance.
