Vivo Escondido Hostel

Vivo is such a great spot in Escondido. First off, the neighborhood is awesome. Super chill with lots of everything you need and great authentic food close by. Also the best beaches are 5-10 mins walk. The hostel itself is a super comfy haven. People are having some fun and social but everything shuts down at 11 sharp for a good sleep. The folks that run the place are so kind and friendly - Tommy is such a good host. And Prince Panchito (dog) is the best. We booked for 3 nights and extended to 7. If I come back here I will 100%

One of my favorite hostels I stayed at for my PE trip. Chill pool/lounge area, bar, and lots of friendly travelers to socialize and go do things with. All the staff was nice and helpful with anything we needed. I’ll be back next time I’m in PE!

This hostel is super dope, 100000% recommend. Good price, great people, cool bar, pool table, pool, ping pong table, and an awesome hammock rooftop with some really cool art. Cannot recommend this place enough and hope I can come again soon!

Loved staying here! The location is awesome—just a short walk to the beach and close to all the shops. The rooms are super comfy with A/C that works perfectly, and the beds have private curtains, which makes sleeping really chill. The whole place is incredibly clean, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. There’s an amazing pool to cool off in, and the kitchen has everything you need. They even offer free drinking water, which is a lifesaver. The WiFi is fast, and the bar has a great happy hour—perfect for meeting people and hanging out. Honestly, one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. Highly recommend!

NOTE: The hostel offers a free drink in exchange for a review, so many of the reviews you see are likely biased. This place is dirty. The bathrooms are disgusting, showers barely work, and rooms are filthy and smell bad. The hostel vibe feels off in general, the place and activities are not conducive to meeting people (although it is possible if you try). The best thing about this place is its proximity to beaches you can swim at. Unless this is your highest priority, I highly recommend you stay away.

the perfect place to bake a chocolate cake and have a movie night with everyone. i love this place. they staff/volunteers make this place feel like a second home. so welcoming from the second you step in to the moment you leave. the facilities are always SO clean, the kitchen is massive and they free breakfast changes every morning so it’s always something new. the pool is huge and it’s the perfect mix of party and chill hostel vibes. i genuinely love this place so much i extended my stay twice. if you ever go to puerto make sure to come here it’ll be the highlight of your trip
