We visited this restaurant and coffee shop, and found it to be very nicely situated with sea views along the Palm Cove esplanade. The coffee we ordered was nice, and the breakfast was really good with very good sevice and friendly staff. There was a good atmosphere there and I enjoyed my experience there. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner. Well done.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms and they were honestly the most delicious we’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

Google
Great restaurant on the beach. Service was welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was good, scrambled eggs on sourdough bread, light and fluffy 🍳 the side serve of bacon was crispy 🥓 Fresh orange juice and good quality hot coffee ☕️ The poached eggs with avocado and hash brown was delicious. 🍳 Recommend this venue 🙌

Google
Great location, good food and good atmosphere. Highly recommend the salmon tartare and the crab pasta. It can get busy so it’s better to make a booking!

The food was undeniably delicious, prepared with care and attention to detail. It was such a great location, easily accessible and offering a pleasant atmosphere. Furthermore, the staff was exceptionally friendly, providing excellent service with a smile. The picturesque scenery added a delightful touch to the whole experience. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable outing.

Google
I risk to say that I had the best coffee in Australia. My partner and I had 2 each 🤣 great place, we also had dinner and the food was unique. Very good place. Love it. The food in the breakfast was 3.5 out of 5 stars but dinner is completed different, very very good.

We popped in to ViVo for lunch checking out their (new to us) menu. Walking past the superb looking fresh seafood mezze delivered to a nearby table our mouths started to water. We decided to keep that for another time (?dinner) and both settled on garlic bread followed by the prawn risotto. The garlic bread was served with half a head of roasted garlic to squeeze & rub onto the lightly toasted sourdough and a dish of finely grated Parmesan to sprinkle on top …. We were in heaven, absolutely the best garlic bread. The risotto was to die for, 3 large bbq prawns on a bed of the creamiest baby pea, burn spinach & prawn pieces risotto. All of which we ate leaving clean plates & forgotten pictures. Deciding dinner would be a none event tonight, we followed with the cutest pavlova & berries for me & tiramisu for my luncheon partner, orange juice & coffee completed this amazing meal . Can’t wait to try out the rest of the new menu.

Yelp
I was a solo diner and the service was the unfriendliest I have encountered, to the point of being offhand. I felt they couldn't wait to get me out the door and give the table to someone else, even though there were vacant tables. Portions of the entree and pasta were minimal and not good value. Great location, though.

Yelp
A trendy, easy cafe/restaurant with laid back ambience set 20metres from the Palm Cove beachfront. Service very prompt and unobtrusive. Good selection of food and beverages to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. Thoroughly enjoyable and possibly a place that is taken for granted in this beautiful hidden location.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this after my morning walk on Palm Cove Beach, So I decided to bring the whole family for Brunch. Arriving around 10am, walked in off the street and found out you just seat yourself. We snagged a table on the veranda right under the fan as it was about 30degrees C already. The host was super friendly and very pregnant and gave great customer service. After sitting down our server arrived and took our drink orders - my husband order the flat white, I had the moccachino and the kids had the orange juice and Apple juice. We then ordered our meals - I had the BIG Breakfast $27 and shared it with the hubby! Kids ordered bacon hash browns and French toast. Food was delicious and location was great too! Right on the beach . Was a great spot for breakfast! If we're ever back again, might try this place for dinner or Happy Hour.

Yelp
Best meal and atmosphere in Palm Cove. Wonderful outlook. Friendly efficient service and good wine list.

Yelp
Highly recommended by a local, so we made a reservation and stood in a line to be told to wait.they don't have a host/ hostess greeting you to seat you. As absurd it may sound, and as classy they want to be perceived, you need to pay at a desk once done eating your meal. To top off the ridiculousness- service is pathetic. The servers don't know their food or drinks. The bar tenders helpers don't know if Glenlivet is a gin or a whiskey? They have limited single malts. I loved the main dish we had but I would give it a 6/10. Hence 2 stars - I hope they can do better next time.

Yelp
The view on the veranda on a sunny afternoon was great. Until the rain started, but they're equipped with the rain shutter/curtains. I found it so interesting that all the restaurants in Palm Cove have that installed. Guess it goes with the weather and territory. The service was good and the food was tasty. But I found the menu limited, and pricey for the portion size. Nonetheless, it's a good option for the esplanade.

Yelp
Enjoyed the fish and chips. Chips were thickly cut and lightly salted. The fish had a bit too much batter on them for me. Service was prompt and nice. Would visit again.

Yelp
Does what it says in the tin. It's a nice place and the staff was very friendly but the place is busy and we found the service slow. I had the breakfast special - exotic mushroom & feta croquette, pickled beetroot chutney, poached egg, avocado pomegranate corn salsa, roasted micro tomatoes and bacon on toast - and it was ok. The beetroot chutney was very nice but the feta unnoticeable in the croquette with the mushrooms and I found the dish overpromised and underdelivered. A pitty: my wife had the feta cream on top of the mushrooms (no croquettes) and it was great. It wasn't bad but at an average $20 per breakfast dish, I expect a bit more.

Yelp
This was one of the best meals we had in the Port Douglas area! I had the fish of the day and it was amazing!! I would highly recommend going here for a meal and definitely ask about the specials for the day. Also the view is wonderful of the beach across the street.

Yelp
Wow! My partner and I loved this place. It was recommended by our rough guide travel book. This place is facing out on the beach. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. We loved everything we ordered! And we did all the options-- appetizers, salad, entrees, and dessert. Of course we also had drinks! Drinks- I got the special domaine sparkling cocktail and then the lychee daiquiri which was incredible! My partner had them make a tequila bloody maria and loved it! Appetizers- We shared the spring salad and loved it. Super fresh and great cheese. We also got the garlic bread which was different but the special garlic they give you is something we are still dreaming of and want to learn to make at home. You spread the garlic yourself! Entree: I got the mushroom pasta-- simply delicious and buttery! My partner ordered the lamb and it easily came off the bone. It was made right. I don't love meat and this was excellent! Dessert- we got the chocolate pie option and ate it in 5 mins. It was the best to finish off our meal. We are from the states and hope one day to return!!

Yelp
What a wonderful lunchtime experience this was for my out-of-town parents. Typically accustomed to frequenting establishments of (how shall I say this) a fancier variety, they found this restaurant absolutely faultless and downright awesome. We popped in for lunches and coffees, and were greeted politely by a lovely staff member who seated us at a table perfect for people watching. Our table of 4 ordered the chargrilled prawn salad, the spanner crab linguine, and the special of the day which was a pan-fried fish fillet atop a beetroot smear, charred asparagus, and what appeared to be a slice of savoury bread pudding. My linguine was absolutely amazing, chock full of delicious olive oil, garlic and chilli. The pasta was freshly made and cooked perfectly. My mom's prawn salad was beautifully served with a mound of quinoa, crispy prosciutto and garden vegetables. And my dad, who is not a fan of sweet vegetables, enjoyed all of the components on his plate, even the beetroot smear. We paired it all with glasses of fresh, lemony, semillon and topped it off with strong espressos. The service is where Vivo really shines, Our water glasses never went empty, and everything was done with a smile. I definitely recommend you try this place out if you're in the area.

Yelp
This is a very nice eatery on the esplanade at Palm Cove. Although it's large, it wasn't crazy busy and lunch was very nice. My companions and I enjoyed the Salad Bowl, Bruschetta and a Pork Belly Crepe. Everything was great and the service was responsive - we didn't have to wait long to be served or to get our food. The location means diners can enjoy the cool breeze off the sea, which is welcome on most days. All in all it's a nice place.

Yelp
A good place to have a rest and a taste after swimming at the beach in the afternoon. The service is great. Nice staffs and gentle attitude. Friendly to kids. The lunch tasted good and the garlic bread was delicious. Their happy hour is from 3pm to 5:30pm. Price is reasonable for a drink. Especially for the cocktail. It is nice to have a stay and to enjoy a break.

Yelp
Unbelievable breakfast. Great with kids. We were in Clifton beach for 4 nights and we ate here at least 5 times. Breakfast was the winner, but dinner and lunch were equally good. I am personally more of a breakkie person though. The go to option was the yoghurt panna cotta. It was so delicious and had such lovely sides!! The cafe was all over great, early opening and tasty coffee.

Yelp
It was a beautiful location . The service was terrible. After we ordered food, we were ignored for over 35 minutes waiting for our food . The pork belly tasted like dog food . I love pork belly and this was horrible. The fish was passable . After a long wait , it was a terrible disappointment. The only terrible meal we had in Australia after 2 weeks.

Yelp
I have been traveling through Australia and haven't left a review yet, but Vivo was recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. The Wagyu burger and Crab Linguini were both fantastic. Also had the Sunrise Smoothie which was perfect for the warm night. Also want to mention that the service was great. It is a bit in the pricier side ($25 burger/$33 pasta) but the value is there.

Yelp
Beautiful food! Great service! Great venue! I would eat here morning, noon and night.

Yelp
We came here via a yelp recommendation and we have received a very pleasant staff. They were very accommodating and tolerant of my boisterous demeanor. The bruschetta was top 5 for me, however the oysters lacked cocktail sauce or mignonette. Pro tip for the chef please add mignonette and cocktail sauce and you will sell a lot more oysters. Love Austin

Yelp
Excellent service and views, we went twice during our week at Palm Cove... The soft shell crab is heavenly!!! Definitely recommend this place!!!

Yelp
Good location and food! Service become slow if restorant is 3/4 full. At Saturday, we (family with small child) waited 20 min to get menu and 30 min to place order. After this waiting time staff said "it's up to you to leave or not... I do my best". Total waiting for food was aprox 1:20 hour. Kid's food arrive at last, we ask if possible, first ((

Soheil M.

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent view, and more importantly friendly staff. Went there with my wife and three years old kid. Ordered burger, Spanish fish (fish of the day) and pasta. All delicious! Will definitely come back if I happen to visit Cairns again.

Yelp
We booked this spot for my birthday dinner- table for 5.....The range and quality of the starters was amazing - we all shared fresh oysters, tuna tartare and deep fried soft shell crab. The selection and quality of the mains was a little less impressive and I ended up with the MaHi MaHi special, which was quite bland. Then we had desserts - what a selection, we had parfait , soufflé and strawberry fizz- all looked and tasted fantastic. So, all in all- an amazing place, great ambience, awesome starters and desserts with underwhelming service and mains. For the money we'd probably think twice about going back !

Yelp
To be quite honest I found the portions small and the food mediocre for the price. A lot of people recommended this place to me as amazing but I was underwhelmed. Very friendly wait staff and good desert but the main courses were not impressive that myself and my girlfriend had.

MicMac A.

Yelp
the food is nice, but the service not amazing. SERVICE One of the people i was with was not brought their beer after ordering, and the water quite judgmental when we told her the amount of wine we where having. DRINKS i order the homemade lemonade, which was quite good, but the glass was filled with ice so i barely got anything to actually drink. but the rest of the drinks where really good. FOOD the special was great and a good value for money. the kids calamari was great and quite big. the crab pasta was quite light and but it wasn't that good.

Amy C.

Yelp
Had breakfast here on a leisurely weekday morning. This place has a nice outdoor seating area with a view of the ocean. Parking is plentiful on the street. Portion sizes and prices were a bit on the larger size. Had the pulled brisket and nasi goreng. Food was tasty and had an Asian influence. Only complaint is that we waited a long time for the bill and then realized that you have to go to reception to ask for it and pay. A sign or advisement from the waitstaff about this would be helpful to tourists not familiar with this practice.
google avatar

Argy B.

Yelp
Great location, very friendly service. The coffee was excellent, and staff were accommodating and I lingered for a long time reading the paper. I ordered the Nasi Goreng for breakfast - I wanted to love it (as I love that dish), and you can't find that everywhere outside of Indonesia. The dish was ok, though lacking in the deep rich flavors I was hoping for. The sambal was freshly made, very spicy (!), and helped save the meal. All in all, they have a very nice menu and very helpful and friendly staff. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Chelsea C.

Yelp
Gorgeous open verandah overlooking Palm Cove beach. Only had a coffee when I stopped by but staff were friendly, service was quick and coffee was delicious. The menu looks comprehensive and prices are fair. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Palm Cove (next time for dinner)

Avalon D.

Yelp
Great food and service. Had a delicious breakfast here with French Toast being one of the favourites. Returned for dinner the following night and we weren't disappointed with some fantastic oysters and crab linguine - delicious. Service was friendly and welcoming and location and venue is probably one of the best in Palm Cove. TIP: Make a booking for Fridays and weekends to ensure you get one of the tables with an outlook onto the beach !
google avatar

Ann M.

Yelp
There's no way I'd give this five stars. It's good. The breakfasts are quality but most are heavy. My Mushroom Breakfast was overly greasy. My companion had a great tropical fruit platter. Coffee no good.

Yelp
We finished off our two week tour of Australia here, at Vivo in Palm Cove. It was lovely! Palm Cove was such a cute area to walk around (I wish we stayed here a few nights!) and the atmosphere at Vivo was sleek and cool. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the ocean view while eating fantastic deconstructed garlic bread and fresh pasta. YUM! Nothing better than classic, authentic Italian food. Excellent service as well!
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Fantastic open verandah opposite the beach - getting the sea breeze, the sea view, the shade and fine Italian (+ fusion) food. Not cheap but worth the money.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
The ambience is hard to beat as you are sitting approximately 50 feet from the sea so the background music to your dinner is the waves hitting the shore. The food is just as good. We had the yellowfish tuna (medium rare) served with sundries tomatoes, grilled anchovies, and a few other veggies which matched perfectly with the fish. The freshness of the tuna was evident with the first bite.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Food was great - we had the crab linguine and gnocchi with veal ragu - but a little overpriced for what it was.
google avatar

Sally B.

Yelp
Great value. Excellent service. Good for a nice night out. The special $39 or $49 meal deal is excellent value with a good range of options to choose from. Being right across from the beach its a great location. The prices are comparable to the other similar restaurants on the esplanade. Had the spaghetti marinara and it was excellent.

Michael R.

Yelp
Facing the swaying palm trees and the rolling waves, Vivo is beautifully situated in the relaxed resort of Palm Cove. From breakfast to dinner fine food at reasonable prices and charming service can be found here. Whether it's the eggs or French toast to start the day or the Wagyu burger or crab linguine for lunch Vivo doesn't disappoint . Dinner can be a fixed price selection or a la carte, usually with a delicious fish dish as the special . I've been to Palm Cove many times to escape the Melbourne cold and Vivo draws me in every time.

Yelp
Great place for a quiet family dinner. Beautiful local food and a magnificent setting overlooking the Palm Cove beach. Fantastic dinner. Crab linguini is amazing.

Yelp
My partner & I have been to Vivo for lunch twice this week. Service is always slow mainly due to the restaurant being popular & busy. Perhaps the layout of tables means that it is difficult to keep track of all of the diners? The first experience: late lunch at 2pm. Duck/prawn nasi goreng was delicious - generous serve of duck and a fair bit of heat even without adding the side serve of sambal. Fish & chips was great - barramundi very fresh and crispy & golden chips. Nice presentation but a bit hard to eat as no room on the plate to actually cut up your fish which is stacked high on top of the chips in a baking paper bowl. Our second experience wasn't so good. It was a very busy day partly due to the Sunday markets being on. Arrived at 11:30 hoping for a late breakfast & were told we were too late due to the volume of breakfast orders but could have a drink & wait for lunch service. So we had coffee & water to start and ordered lunch around 11:45. After about 45 min we asked how long it might be and were told lunch service would start in 15 min so we requested some garlic bread to start. The buttered crusty bread slices with a half head of roasted garlic & freshly grated Parmesan was presented well & was a good starter. After another half an hour, around 1pm, we started getting a bit impatient as we hadn't seen our waitress and felt like we'd been forgotten. The table behind us had ordered after us and had finished their orders of fish & chips. We asked another waitress to please check our meals were coming and told it would be another two minutes. We caught the eye of the manager 5 min later and told him we had been waiting since we ordered at 11:45. He said he was sorry but the kitchen didn't start service till after 12. He offered us complimentary drinks for our patience which was a nice touch (a beer & a mango smoothie which came out as a banana one). Our meals came: a wagyu burger and the ricotta gnocchi. The burger patty was very dry & the meal looked like it had been thrown together in a hurry. The chips were sitting in a pool of oil, not having been drained properly. The gnocchi was presented well but was somewhat unremarkable. We appreciated the apology from the manager but we felt the wait staff needed to keep us better informed during our long wait. We obviously came in at the wrong time on a busy day but it was disappointing seeing the tables around us getting their food after only a 15 min wait and it looking so much better presented as well. Vivo will always have lots of diners coming in with their interesting & varied menu and great spot on the esplanade but I feel they need to improve their service front of house to ensure a better overall dining experience for patrons.

Lori T.

Yelp
Perfection! Not only is the location great and the service impeccable, the food is the best in the area. Make a reservation. We went here three times in our one week in the area and the only reason we didn't go four times is we couldn't get a reservation.

Michael A.

Yelp
Owner could not doing enough to cater for gf and egg intolerance (for 1 guest in our party). Good size kids calamari. Grass next door for kids to play on. Marinara cooked just right. Good happy hour cocktails.

Yelp
Having been in Palm Cove for almost a week now, with every meal in a different spot in this cute town, I agree with the other reviewers that Vivo is the best restaurant in town. It's basically italian (OMG there are so many italian restaurants along this little beachfront strip! PC needs some diversity already). But Vivo does it real. An extensive wine list that would rival a capital cities' list. The waiter offered to decant it (usually I have to ask), and then they rebottled it since I couldn't finish it to take home. I have never experienced that before! Across the 7 of us, we tapped most of the menu (happily my kids are very adventuresome eaters) and every dish was well conceived and delicious. I opted for the antipasto and gnocchi ragu (traditional Italian, I know), but they were very good. We also had the duck, roast chicken, shellfish ensemble - all terrific. Service was also top notch. Vivo rivals a top city dinner restaurant - the only one we've experienced as such in Palm Cove (so far anyway!)

Ben D.

Yelp
While on a family holiday to Palm Cove we ate here for breakfast once and dinner twice. There were six of us, each ordering different meals every time and not once were we disappointed with our choices. The first dinner I had was the gnocchi, without a doubt the best I've ever had. The second dinner I had Swordfish which was a special, such delicate flavours and cooked perfectly. The breakfast was great and plentiful, a great foundation for the day. The service was fantastic, all staff smiling and happy to be there, really made you feel welcome even joking along with our family. Finally the location, a beautiful view of the beach right on the Esplanade, we had perfect weather too which always helps. I definitely recommend Vivo, worth every penny!
