Vlaams Friteshuis Vleminckx in Amsterdam was so good, I made sure to visit every day of my trip. I visited here after my local friend told me they had the best fries in Amsterdam, and she was surely right. The staff are friendly and have a good knowledge of allergies; they told me that all but four of their sauces were gluten-free and suitable. The menu is printed in both English and Dutch, which makes things easier. The service is also fast and the staff speak English. While this is primarily a grab your fries and go kinda place, there are a good number of benches around a minute’s walk away, simply come out of the side street, turn right and walk straight ahead. The fries were so good, and a tribute to Belgium - my favourite sauces were the samurai sauce, which was spicy and creamy, and the truffle mayo, which was so rich, flavoursome and delicious. I paid between €6 and €8.5 as I ordered a variety of sauces and portion sizes. Prices are reasonable, meaning you can grab lunch at a fair price. Vleminckx will be at the top of my list to return to the next time I’m in Amsterdam!

The fries looked tempting, but honestly they were super fluffy inside almost like they had no potato and were just full of air. It felt pretty overhyped and I didn’t really enjoy them. I have had much better fries in Amsterdam. A lot of locals recommended Manneken Pis, which we unfortunately didn’t get to try.

Love these potato fries so much. Super crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and full of potato flavor. The mayo and ketchup each bring their own kind of yum. I never miss them whenever I visit the city.

We came here for an afternoon snack and got a small order of frites with truffle mayo and joppie sauce. The fries were delicious, and both of the sauces were excellent. The joppie sauce was similar to a curry sauce, which provided a nice contrast to the truffle mayo. We would definitely come back again for more frites!

Fries were fantastic—freshly cut and fried in front of you with excellent vegetable oil. Truffle mayonnaise was delicious. Huge portion, even the small size.

The fries are crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, freshly made right in front of you — pure comfort food heaven 😍 I tried them with the Hannibal sweet onion sauce, and OMG… that mix of creamy, tangy, slightly spicy onion flavor is next-level 🤤🔥 Totally addicting! The portion was generous, service super quick, and the whole vibe is that old-school Amsterdam street-food charm.

Amazing crispy fries. They were fresh and full of flavor. I added the fries sauce + samurai sauce + ketchup and it was a great combination. They have variety of sauces to choose from too. The queue was ling but very fast (only 5 mins). Definitely one of the good fries in Amsterdam.

My friend always insists that I come to this particular chip shop, he really likes it and always recommends it. I think the chips and sauces are very high quality, but a bit far away from the station of the Amsterdam Central. But if is your first time in Amsterdam it's really recommend , but after you visit once you can find allot of french fries on the way nearest to the Amsterdam Central Station.
