"Situated close to the otherworldly Lake Mývatn in northern Iceland , this unique café and restaurant—heralded by a simple wooden sign onthe roadway—is located in a glassed dining room insidea working farm'scowshed. Vogafjósoffers homemade local food like smoked trout, breads baked in underground geothermal ovens, raw smoked lamb, and cheese that comesfrom the very cows you can see through the venue’s windows. (Guests are welcome to visit the herd beforeor after ameal.) The farm also runs a cozy bed and breakfast, and the lake’s geothermal spa is in the vicinity, should you want to make more of an experience out of it."

We stopped here for lunch while passing through. It was heavenly. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared, highly recommended! The service was also very friendly, and before continuing our journey, we were able to ask the manager some questions about the farm and chat a little.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms are nothing special but decent and clean. Wish they were closer to the restaurant, but wasn’t a huge deal. The restaurant is phenomenal! May have been the best burger in my whole life. And so many other ingredients directly from the farm, including the bun that was baked in a geothermal underground oven. Great desserts too. Fun to see the cows, especially the calves. Great location too. Highly recommend over other stays in the area.

A lovely stay. Big yet cozy room, spacey for iceland standard. The food is very good - very generous breakfast spread. We also had dinner there, everything was terrific - even the arctic char! The smoked Lamb was something special 🥰

This is the best food I have ever had in my life. Everything was delicious and I would 100% recommend stopping to eat here. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. Thank you Chef for creating such a wonderful and flavorful experience!

A truly beautiful place, perfectly connected with nature and designed in a clean, rustic style. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the coffee is excellent. Unfortunately, the desserts were a bit disappointing — the whipped cream came from a spray can, while it could easily be fresh and local, and the ice cream was over-frozen instead of creamy. With a little more attention to the desserts, this place could be absolutely perfect.

Went for some food at the restaurant. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. The menu had enough options for any person eating there. We got the beef burger, thr vogafós Special, and a happy marriage cake. All items for the special was light and delicious. The salad is made with kale. There is a little gift shop there. The wool is really nicely made. And you can go in and see the cows on their farm.

Delicious lunch in a family owned farmhouse setting. The geyser bread was tasty and the soup was warming. Don’t skip the desert. The cows seemed content in the setting and were easily viewed.

The food here is amazing and the staff are really nice. We had the arctic char on rye and smoked lamb. It was a simple appetizer spread that was so delicious and plated like a nice restaurant in a cosmopolitan area. Afterwards we said hello to the sweet cows
