Vök Baths

This was an incredible experience, especially as a couple. We went there late January during low season and got the place for ourselves for almost 2 full hours as we arrived as soon as they opened at 12. Overall, a beautiful, well maintained and perfectly run geothermal spa.

Beautiful baths. Absolutely worth it if you’re in the area. Baths were very clean. The inside - showers and installations were clean, modern and enjoyable. It’s also quite nice to have a drink while in the hot water overlooking the lake. Definitely recommend!

This was a relaxing visit for us, we went in the evening and spent several hours. There were other guests that had visited other similar upscale hotels springs spas and this was on the top 3 of everyone we spoke with, and the top choice of many. The facility was clean, the showers were very spacious and private in the ladies’ locker room. There was a sauna in addition to “cool mist tunnel” (some cool water misting in a covered hallway), and the 3 different temperature hot pools stretched onto the lake. There is a ladder, and they advise swimming in the lake is at your own risk. Drinks weren’t cheap but reasonable. The hot tea was not offered while in the pools but was available after. The carafes were all empty except one at an hour before closing. Their showering products smelled really nice and my hair felt great after using them. Highly recommend this spa over the ones by the airport and capital if you prefer a less crowded experience.

The place was wonderfully peaceful and in a really beautiful location. The building was nicely brought close to nature. The changing rooms were spacious and the women's side had a really pleasant dressing table/hair drying area. Checking in and out was easy. The only minus was the hot drink after the bath, which I did not like. I would prefer to offer one drink of your choice while at the pool.

I had a very lovely experience. The photos are right on point to what you get. The cold plunge in the lake is so amazing and refreshing. Small food menu I had a daily soup (it changes) but was vegan and very yummy! (I am not vegan) The algae in the water is very nice for skin but can be slippery. If you are wanting to walk around the large spa this makes it a bit difficult but I did not mind swimming everywhere. For older people this could be very risky as you may slip in the water getting in and out on the stairs, they are very slippery. They have a wheelchair accessible ramp to the main pool with the bar. There is a steam room and a little cold mist shower that was very nice. The max drinks per person is 3. I would not recommend the strawberry daiquiri personally but if you enjoy ginger or ginger beer the Ves was so delicious! I recommend getting there right as it opens, even in July on a Saturday I had the spa to myself for a little while and it was very enjoyable. The shower facilities was by far the nicest public showers I've ever been to. My only dissatisfaction with the facilities was you cannot enter, eat lunch and then go back into the water. You can only order drinks. I asked the lady if there was any possible way to order from the cafe and swim again and she said no. The lady at the bar told me its so people don't stay all day and keep people coming and going to make room for others. Understandable but still was disappointing. Some small suggestions that would be nice is a bathing suit dryer as well as hooks inside the showers for when you are showering to hang bathing suit.

One of the better hot springs in Iceland. Not as big as the big ones like the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon. And the price is good. There are several baths and it is also possible to swim in the lake. At your own risk (especially in winter) there is also the possibility to order something to drink

When we went it wasn’t very crowded at all. The cold plunge in the lake was fantastic- we did it many times. Great walk up bar and excellent facilities. Super clean. Moss was a bit slippery, but the amazing view was the highlight.

Visiting Vök Baths in December was an absolute dream! With the outside temperature plunging to minus 15, soaking in the warm geothermal waters felt like heaven. The baths are beautifully lit up in the early winter darkness, creating a cozy and magical atmosphere, especially with the surrounding snow and ice. Sipping on drinks while relaxing in the steamy water was the perfect treat, though they were a bit pricey—but well worth it for the experience. It's a serene winter wonderland that offers pure relaxation and a must-do when in Iceland!
