The perfect spot for visiting Volcano National Park! My girlfriend and I stayed in the 'Maid's Cottage' for a couple of nights. Out of 6 different hotels during our trip to Maui and the Big Island, there was no doubt that this was the most comfortable and relaxing of them all. The place is spacious yet cozy, and there's a great hot tub that's private to your room while you stay. I slept very well here. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked, which is great since there aren't a lot of dining options in the town (and a bunch of them were unexpectedly closed while we were there) — stopping by Safeway or Foodland for groceries to cook a few meals is highly recommended. Also, Todd and Olivia were such kind and thoughtful hosts. The morning of our check out, Kīlauea started erupting; my girlfriend and I happened to check the webcam just after it started when we woke up, so the 5-minute drive into the park meant we had a pretty private viewing, which was the highlight of our trip. When we got back to the room later that morning to check out, Olivia came by to make sure we'd gotten a chance to see the eruption, which was really considerate! If I ever get to return to Volcano NP (which I sure hope I will), I'll absolutely stay here again.
