We had a really nice time here. Nice hotel, great hot springs. Everything was really beautiful. The food was delicious...all of them what we tried (quesadilas, tomato cream, tuna, risoto). Mostly all the staff were kind and helpful. We had a nice view on volcano (but it depends on the weather of course). Good price vs quality. The prices for food are little bit higher but you can expect that when you are in the hotel. We have to appriciate Josua in restaurant. He was really kind, he took care about us, still smiling and take care if we have everything.

The property itself is beautiful. It sits right by the foothills of the mountain, surrounded by lush greenery, and everything is very well maintained. The jungle hot springs are truly the highlight and create a peaceful, natural experience. However, I did find the service to be inconsistent. On several occasions, when I requested something small, the automatic response was simply no, even in situations where it seemed like a reasonable accommodation, such as changing a TV channel or using a small personal speaker when no one else was around. These are just two examples, but there were a few similar moments that left me feeling unwelcome. For me, the human element and how I am received is a very important part of any stay, and I did not consistently feel that warmth here. I still have a few days left, so I hope the remainder of my experience feels different. I do want to recognize Valery, who was wonderful and made me feel seen and cared for. Given the overall service experience, I don’t believe I would recommend the property to others.

It's a brilliant setting with excellent landscaping. The food is good and the staff are friendly. Ordinarily I'd give it 3* but the room wasn't made up during the day and there is no soundproofing between the rooms so, while I was in the bathroom, I could hear next door having a P (it could have been a lot worse).

Went there with my husband, had a good time, the room was big and had a beautiful view. The hotel was nice enough to give us a small bottle of wine. The breakfast was good, it was a buffet and had costarican food. There were a lot of animals, a lot of birds. The thermals were good, there was a big space with hammocks and it was really nice to lay there. The staff was really nice and helpful.

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna, Volcano Lodge, Hotel & Thermal Experience offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Its location provides guests with stunning volcano views and easy access to the area’s top attractions, including Arenal National Park, waterfalls, and hiking trails. The property combines the serenity of nature with convenient proximity to adventure activities. The lodge features a variety of accommodations, from simple Superior Rooms with terraces and garden or partial volcano views to Thermal Superior Rooms and Junior Suites that include private thermal pools. These upgraded rooms are particularly praised by guests seeking comfort and privacy, as the private hot springs add a touch of luxury and relaxation after a day of exploring. Guests can enjoy multiple facilities, including two cold‑water pools, two thermal pools with cascading waterfalls, natural hot tubs, and a swim‑up bar. The Surá Bar & Bistro serves Costa Rican and international cuisine, while the Chonete Wet Bar lets visitors sip cocktails directly from the pool. A small spa offers massages and volcanic mud treatments, and other amenities include short garden trails, a lounge area, and free Wi‑Fi. Overall, Volcano Lodge stands out for its tranquil atmosphere, thermal water experience, and attentive staff. While the décor in standard rooms is simple and Wi‑Fi can be spotty, the lodge delivers an excellent balance of comfort, nature, and value for money. Couples and families alike appreciate its relaxing environment and scenic setting, making it a solid choice for an authentic Arenal getaway.

We absolutely loved the Volcano Lodge! Their free breakfast is great, and their lunch and dinner menu was excellent! The pool is so nice & the hot springs were refreshing. They even have a lounge area with pool, games & a TV! Great food & drinks, super friendly and accommodating staff, overall an amazing choice!

We would rate our experience a 4.5. Almost everything was first class and easily accessible. Our check-in was easy, and the staff at the desk was efficient and very helpful. Our room was a bit of a walk from the check-in, but we were glad to get the exercise. Our room was very close to the restaurant, pools, and thermal springs. These 3 areas were in excellent condition and well-attended. There was always someone to answer questions and quickly act on our requests no matter how small, like more towels or coffee packets. Response time to requests was within minutes. The restaurant was first class; we ate there every day, great service and great food. The only downside was that the rooms (or at least our room) need to be upgraded; but they were clean, roomy, and comfortable. Some of the woodwork was worn, and the plumbing needs to be upgraded. There was a sign above the toilet requesting that we put our toilet paper in a trash can by the toilet. There was also no handle on the door to the patio; we loved sitting out there and watching the birds, but the door would not always stay closed. These were minor inconveniences because everything else was great.

A nice hotel well located and fairly close to amenities. The rooms are bright and well equipped. Pool area is lovely as are the gardens. Restaurant is good and staff there are very friendly. However, it is difficult to get to places independently. A shame ther was no hotel mini bus facility to get into the local town.
