Volcano treehouse

This was a magical, memorable experience that my entire family will treasure! We learned about the treehouses through a friend who stayed there, and besides how unique and beautiful looked, we wanted to see the caldera but did not want to have to drive two hours back to our condo at night. I called Skye and he answered and was very helpful in providing the availability and pricing. He was very easy to communicate with throughout the entire process of booking, check in, and check out. ||We checked in at 3 pm and Skye met us there and walked us through giving a great tour. The treehouse had plenty of places for our family of four to sleep, a full bathroom, coffee and a coffeemaker, and even a tv with a DVD player and a solid selection of DVDs. Skye is a talented artist, and his wonderful art is all around the space. We spent a few hours at Volcano House and then came back to the treehouse to watch a movie while we listened to rain and birdsong.||I woke up to the sun streaming through the windows and morning birdsong, and then we made freshly ground coffee and sat out on the walkway to drink it and take in the lush view. It was pure heaven. The house is just gorgeous inside and out. Rustic enough to be fun and cool, but with the comforts you need when you are traveling with kids. ||We will always remember this wonderful experience and would love to stay again!

I had to put down 2024 to post, but it was before that. I just came across my son's "Treehouse Alumni" shirt so kindly given to him by our host, and I was remembering what an amazing experience our stay was. It was a while ago, but it looks just the same now. All these years later, my son has outgrown his beloved t-shirt, but I remember it so clearly. Stay here if you can.

We did a family trip and stayed in two of the tree houses for four nights. What a wonderful experience! You won't believe the design, features, setting. All self-contained. The volcano is just minutes away and Hilo is about 25 minutes away. We happened to be there during heavy rains but we were able to combine enough beach time and volcano time to make it work out. You are in a jungle setting. You hear the birds in the daytime and the bird-like chirping frog calls at night. It is very private. Lots of covered outdoor decking. Want an unforgettable dining experience? Eat at the Volcano House restaurant to enjoy the view of the volcano. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to stay at Treehouse 3 with our family vacation. Skye is such a great architect and artist. The treehouse looks exactly the same as the pictures. Nothing is better than waking up with birds singing and have a cup of coffee in the lanai. The glass windows are recycled, the electricity is from solar, the water is collected from rain water. Skye taught us how to live our lives differently, friendly to earth, and more elegantly. Thank you Skye for such a a great experience.

Wow - this is a one of a kind experience. We spent three nights at Treehouse #2 with our two kids. It felt like you were camping but with all of the comforts of home. Windows all around to view the tops of the trees, comfy beds, and just minutes from Volcano National Park. There are two treehouses evidentially - #2 is the first (and smaller) one. It is not luxury but do expect an exceptional experience. I kind of felt bad for the people paying the same amount of money to stay at a cookie cutter motel. And don't be scared of all of the stairs. I am a travel duck who is afraid of heights and did just fine after the first trip up and down. Skye was nice enough even to leave t-shirts for the kids. This was really a lucky find and we will always remember our stay.

We loved our stay! It felt like we were the only people for miles around. The sounds of birds and frogs were so incrediblely relaxing. Skye provided all the towels, blankets, etc., we needed. There was also delicious coffee available in the morning. I see other people complaining that it smells damp; it's a beautiful treehouse in the rain forest, so we expected a little dampness. I hate camping, but my husband loves it so this was the perfect compromise (in my favor lol). It was an amazing stay and I would recommend Skye's place to anyone looking to get off of the beaten path.

Wow! What a perfect getaway. My new fiancée and I stayed fir only one night and wished we could have stayed forever. Skye’s treehouse is such a fantastic escape. After visiting a volcano, coming “home” to a treehouse makes any vacation extra special. Finishing the evening with a fire, made us excited to plan a return trip. Can’t wait to stay here again I. Wowzers, my new husband and I feel so lucky to have found this handcrafted gem. We spent 2 nights of our honeymoon in TH#2, which was the first built and Skye's spoken favorite. ;) A lot of love went into this tree space..we loved all the unique touches, the L-shaped balcony, large sky windows, a shower with a view of the ginormous leaves, and waking up to a view of the sky and tip top of the trees. It's just as beautiful at night with twinkling lights guiding your way up the path, as we are among the stars. We can't wait to return and visit the other 2 beauties, thank you Skye!!

I can't say enough about how awesome Skye's treehouse is! So unique and artistic and well appointed. Even a very comfortable bed! We were so delighted by the beauty of the surrounding forest, the solitude and the singing frogs! Sitting on the lanai after an amazing day at Kilauea was a treat. And Skye is not only a great guy, but also a true artist and craftsman! You won't be disappointed by booking a stay here.

Skye's place is the closest you can get to pure paradise! So much comfort, serenity, peace, space and all the privacy you can ever ask for, unlike the overpriced resorts and their strict rules.

Words can't begin to express how truly awesome Skye's treehouse is. Artistry at another level. Comfort, beauty, and a genuinely kind host is what you get when you come stay at this paradise. Its a trip that will remain one of the best vacations ever!

What an amazing experience! We spent 3 days and two nights at Skye's Treehouse in Volcano. It was the perfect way to start our honeymoon! Skye offered very helpful and practical advice on places to go and things to do including when to do them based on experience, weather, busy times, etc.. His advice was always spot on!!! He made our stay super easy with great food recommendations, hikes and sites to see. Thanks Skye! The treehouse was more than we hoped for! It was located in an ultra private property that was dense with natural vegetation and wildlife. The trail into the house was gorgeous and easy to navigate. The treehouse was 20+ feet in the air and it was huge! The place had details and personal touches everywhere. Each item thoughtfully placed. We appreciated how comfortable and functional everything was. The place is nearly all windows with wonderful views from all around! It is clear the place was built for personal use with all of the attention to detail and the homey feeling the place exudes!! The lanai was extraordinary. Having coffee out in the middle of the trees with all the wildlife was incredible. Thanks Skye for sharing your place with us. We would love to return. It was a tremendous value for the cost and exceeded all of our expectations! Mahalo!

This is as good as it gets! Have stayed in both of Skye's crazy cool and comfortable treehouses and love them both. Works of art in the midst of nature. Right in the rainforest. Up in the ohia trees. Down the road from the active Kilauea volcano in the national park. As good as it gets. And Skye is the kind of host there to greet you that you always wanted. Too cool.
