Volos Greek Cuisine is one of my favorite downtown spots in Toronto for having a dinner that will surely impress your date, business partner or family. The atmosphere is a mix of traditional Greek styling with a modern twist, the Volos is easily one of my favorite spots in downtown Toronto. If you need to impress a date or client, this is the place. The decor is a great mix of modern and traditional, and the service is excellent. ​The food is outstanding—the steak was cooked to perfection, and the grilled octopus was fantastic. However, the service logistics could be better. Many dishes are meant for sharing, yet we were given regular spoons instead of proper serving utensils. Also, the saganaki needs a much larger portion of bread to go with it!

I was craving seafood and then found this restaurant. The warm seafood salad just became my favorite dish. Every bites of that was well balanced. Thanks for this BOH team to make the best seafood meal. I will definitely recommend my friends to visiting.

If I had to describe this restaurant in one word, it would be - mediocre. We went for dinner a couple of weeks back. The hostess was very pleasant and had us seated. Good start. Now for the not so good Volos is priced as a higher end restaurant. The first impression one gets is the decor. We were seated near the kitchen. Where it was quite ordinary. The ceiling was open and you could see the vents and wiring. Average looking chairs. With the prices Volos charges, decor should be a factor. The biggest disappointment was our server. We planned to share several appetizers rather than ordering mains. Her face visibly fell when she heard that. We ended up ordering over 5 appetizers over the course of the evening, so it wasn't a cheap evening. Plus dessert. However, our server never stopped by after taking our initial drink and dinner order. So much so that we had to ask another server to get us more drinks. At which she magically reappeared at our table with the drinks. The food itself was also mediocre. Pantheon, in the Danforth, is so much better. For the prices they charge, you are much better off going to other $$$ restaurants in the downtown area.

I recently visited Volo’s Greek Restaurant with my family for a birthday celebration, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding — the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. The food was absolutely amazing — every dish was full of flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was served beautifully and on time. We had such a lovely time, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Volos for anyone looking for authentic Greek food.

It’s a nice place for dining. The service was quick and appropriate. The food quality was great. But, I’d like to see more Mediterranean options.

Decent, not really worth the price. The decor and atmosphere is great, but the service was pretty mediocre given the price and expectation. I had the salmon, which was good but wasn’t anything special. If you want greek food I’d just suggest visiting the danforth for equal or better quality, but at half the price.

Amazing experience and great food. The ambience was delightful, the setting warm and inviting. Our server Mimosa was attentive and friendly. Jaspreet the manager was attentive and gracious. Her hospitality set the perfect tone. Our evening was nothing short of lovely. Look forward to returning.

Not only is this a beautiful restaurant downtown, but the food is amazing. If you’re lucky you’ll get Mimosa as a waitress and you’ll walk away feeling like you just were at a small family gathering on a Greek island. Thank you I very much enjoyed my meal with you all and thank you Mimosa for making it that much better!

Food was amazing. I started off the grilled octopus and grilled calamari - both cooked perfectly and paired well with their creamy tzatziki. The branzino was great as well, super fresh and not fishy. Service was great. The waiters promptly took my order, and made sure to check in once I received my food. Ambiance is upscale, but there were many people dressed in business attire dining in for lunch. I would definitely come back!!

Greeted by the super friendly receptionist, he kept us at ease while we waited for our table. Great ambiance and service overall. Not an expert at all with Greek food so I went with the recommendations. We shared the calamari and a flaming melted cheese for appies. Both were quite tasty. I had a seafood orecchiette pasta which was quite delightful as well. I was so full but we shared the yuzu cheesecake and that was the highlight of the meal for me.

The eggplant dip was a recommendation from the server in the bar area and it did not disappoint. The dip was fresh, well played, and the pita/bread was made in-house. Highly recommend asking for it warmed and drizzling a little olive oil on the dip when you eat it. The Chilean seabass is a must-have. The fish is cooked and seasoned perfectly, the potatoes are tender and flavorful, and the Greek salad is colorful and has the right amount of feta. Very cute place for a first date. The service was fantastic and my waitress was very attentive and offered great suggestions. The baklava is a great addition to any meal. Not too sweet but a lot of flavor and the berries were perfect.

Such a delicious Greek restaurant! Had a reservation for a team dinner and was glad they accommodate a group of 10. Service was attentive and prompt. I ordered the Moscow mule, which was just okay. Food was great though. Loved the flambe cheese and calamari as the appetizers. As for the main, I got the halibut. It was cooked well and I enjoyed the mussels underneath. Broth was flavorful. Everyone else enjoyed their mains as well.

This place is really good if you need to find a last minute date spot Reservations aren't too hard to get it seems, but the food and service are excellent Had the soup, lamb, and octopus and everything was great You pay the downtown markup price but it's not too bad

Lovely ambience and amazing service. Our server was friendly, thoughtful and made our lunch extra special in small ways. We had a wonderful lunch and the relaxed atmosphere put us both at ease. We have been on the hunt for a good moussaka in Toronto, and we may have found the front runner here! Their moussaka is so flavorful and packed full of eggplant. The ratios of each item was just right and it was a delight to find. Their warm seafood salad is amazing also. Grilled fish, shrimp, and octopus on a bed of greens. A light but filling meal.

Went for our Team lunch (party of 9) and everyone had a great time as both food and service were exemplary. Started off with the Saganaki and Grilled Calamari for appetizers. We really liked the Saganaki as it's not overly salty considering they used kefalotyri cheese. The grilled calamari consists of mix greens,is lightly charred and goes well with the bell peppers, onions, olives and vinaigrette. For our mains, the dishes ranges from seafood where someone ordered the Grilled Whole Sea Bass & Fisherman's Stew, pasta (Orecchiette Pasta) and meats - Braised Lamb Shank & Grilled Organic Chicken Breast. The star of the show imo is the Braised Lamb Shank. Not really a fan of lamb due to their grassy/gamey taste but nowhere will you get this taste from Volos' lamb shank. Rich, juicy and flavourful, the fall-of-the-bone lamb shank is so succulent. Every bite sets off a happy fireworks on your tongue that you can't get enough of it! Another stellar dish is their Saffron Pistachio Ice Cream. Incredibly creamy and with the predominant taste and smell of the saffron, I really love this dessert. This dessert is swoon worthy and not to be missed here. Yes Volos is on the pricey side but the experience and quality of food alone are worth both the price. Also one of the few restaurants who doesn't add automatic gratuity for large parties which is surprising since almost all the restaurants we've been to are doing this. This practice alone will entice us into coming back to Volos.

Pretty good. Service seemed frantic. I got the halibut with fennel and the fish was solid but for the price a bit small. Octopus starter was really solid as were the grape leaves. Drinks were expensive and I think that was the big deterrent. For those price points the service should be better and the inside a bit more elegant. I would come here again but not if I were paying.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Great ambience and service. We enjoyed the Orecchiette pasta with Shrimp which was delicious. Also the Warm seafood salad was the best since we left Greece. They have a extensive wine list with familiar Greek wines and the Baklava was just perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Outstanding traditional Greek cuisine with a modern touch. I had the octopus to start and the lamb shank as a main. Both were cooked to perfection and were extremely flavorful. Calm ambiance with welcoming service. My mother loves this place and I'd gladly join her here again next time I'm in Toronto.

Stellar meal and service at Volos. From the moment you in the service was impeccable. Our server forgot his name was great. Down to pacing out our meal, suggesting a fantastic wine to pair with our entrée and great service. Such a wonderful restaurant. If your on the fence about going...just do it you will not I repeat will not be disappointed.

One of the few Greek restaurants in the core of downtown Toronto and it was a good first experience. The service was great from the moment we walked in, friendly host and servers. The restaurant seems great for all crowds, we saw families with little kids, groups celebrating birthdays and older adults just having a good time for dinner. They had a great selection of drinks, Greek wine, California wine, Italian wine, as well as cocktails and beer. They're menu wasn't too large, just enough to not be overwhelmed with the selection! We started with the hummus and pita which was delicious, I always appreciate a good hummus. I then got the gluten free penne with atlantic salmon and that was also very flavorful. My friends got the sea bass, and braised lamb shank which they mentioned was great. We finished the night with the saffron ice cream, which I really enjoyed, the rose water did not overwhelm the taste. If you're downtown Toronto and in the mood for Greek, Volos would be a good choice.

Food was great! Service was great! The ambiance was very nice as well. Def a place to try in Toronto!

Paid a visit to this lovely restaurant for a birthday celebration, and was not one bit disappointed. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the open kitchen concept acts as a wonderful form of background entertainment. Our dishes were absolutely delicious, and the freshness of the ingredients was evidently clear! My wonderful salmon was outstanding, and truly refreshing with the light seasonings. I was also excited to see the superb wine menu, and our pick was definitely a hit. Every aspect of this restaurant has been perfected to ensure guests receive the best experience. I wholly recommend Volos to all, who are looking for a special and memorable evening out. Truly superb.

I came to this restaurant with high expectations and left extremely happy! The location is perfect, Richmond street west provides you a great spot accessible to Eaton Centre and Queen st west. The restaurant is very fancy and cozy! Now about the food: 1. Saganaki is the coolest dish there, they make it in front of you so definitely order it! 2. Octopus : As a person who has never liked Octopus, I gotta say I was right because none of them were as good as this one! 3. Lamb Shank: The look is enough. I can't say more. THE BEST. TENDER AND GREAT! 4. Baklava: Was good, nothing bad about it. All in all, I definitely suggest here!

I came here with a friend and shared a few dishes. The Saganaki was AMAZING. I would go here again just for this. The calamari was good too, the squid was a little more chewy than I would have liked. The wild pacific salmon was also pretty tasty. The manager was kind enough to approach us after seeing that we had waited over 20 minutes for our reservation to offer us a complimentary dessert. We picked the baklava, and it was really yummy. Our bill came to about 80 each, which was fair considering how top notch the vibe, decor, staff and food were. We would come here again!

My spouse and I, along with a friend, had dinner at Estiatorio Volos on Monday, 12 August 2024. The receptionist and young waiter were fine; however, my spouse had the warm seafood salad and became ill after we returned from the hotel. My rack of lamb ($ 63) was overpriced and proved to be very dry, small portions of lamb (yes, I ordered medium well, but this was overdone). Our guest did not suffer from the lamb shank. We were not pleased with the waiter's supervisors, who may have been the restaurant owners. The two bald-headed staff were rough in clearing the table, spilling water on our guest, and obtaining payment for the dinner in lieu of our waiter. The restaurant did not convey a Greek atmosphere, lacking in interior design, wall furnishings or music. I/we felt rushed and, in retrospect, glad to leave this 'wannabee' Greek restaurant. If I elect to return to Toronto as a tourist, I will avoid this restaurant.

It's been a while since I've been back but I'm glad to see they are still thriving! This is one of the best places in city for Greek cuisine and seafood ! Yum! The horiatiki salad was so bright and refreshing, but my fav dish here is the fisherman's stew with a bounty of delicious seafood! Mmmm! TY to the staff for your hospitality and service!

The food is alright. It's pricier than the Danforth. However, make sure you redeem the Yelp offer for a saganaki. It's quite good. The restaurant itself is quite nice and located in the heart of downtown. I ordered the Moussaka. I have to say I am a tad disappointed. For the price, the portion size was very tiny. It tasted alright. The desserts are small too and quite steep. ($10) My friends who ordered other dishes were very impressed with their meal. So I guess I ordered the wrong thing. Overall I think for the quality of food, I rather just go to the Danforth and have Greek food there.

Lovely place with a charming, well-balanced vibe :) On one hand, the interior was quietly beautiful and almost understated with the sparkling lights, the candles on the tables, and white tablecloths. Service was polite and flawless - in the way that they would refill water glasses just as they become almost empty and without a word, or appear with the card machine as soon as the credit card comes out, or magically arrive to clear the plates the moment we were done with the food, not a second too soon or too late! On the other hand, there was the exciting open kitchen where we could watch the chefs light various things on fire, and the equally exciting spectacle where we watched our waiter light the saganaki on fire. There was the Greek music and shouts of "Opa!" which definitely helped heighten the atmosphere. All of these made for a very enjoyable dining experience. The food was quite nice as well. Knowing this restaurant features their seafood dishes, we ordered the grilled sea bass and the fisherman's stew, both of which were great. I particularly loved the stew, which came with an abundance of a wide variety of seafood in a thick tomato broth, served with some deliciously crispy garlic bread. And how could I forget the (FREE WITH YELP CHECK-IN) saganaki - I usually avoid cheese because of a slight lactose intolerance, but I think this one was worth the risk. Perfectly melted and smooth with a slight crunch on the outside. Somewhat salty though. Prices are expensive, but then what isn't around here? I'd say it's quite worth a splurge - or, if you work nearby, perhaps you can convince your manager to choose this place for the next team lunch. :P

Good Greek and seafood if in a hurry. Great spot for lunch. Okay for dinner. Food was okay and dinner menu is expensive for what you get. For example the seafood salad is $32 for dinner and just Uber $20 for lunch. Very tasty. Moussaka was okay, bland. Calamari was a bit burnt. Better for lunch than dinner.

Amazing service. Our waiter made our special day even more specific by bringing some ice cream on the house. My favorite dish was the moussaka, it's a new flavor that I've never had before. Braise lamb was also good, very tender but was a bit too salty for my taste. Would recommend it!

Got a free saganaki for checking in on Yelp! It was flamed kefalotyri, lemon, and ouzo. Lots of fun and entertaining for 15 CAD. I'd never heard of saganaki before, so it was fun to try the fried cheese with my group. Very greasy though. Opa! I got the Fisherman's stew for 31 CAD for my dinner. Wild salmon, tiger prawns, calamari, mussels, saffron tomato broth, and garlic toast sounded really good on the menu, but the actual dish was just okay. We had two servers for our table, and it was a little disorganized because they both came by at different times and asked us the same questions. It looked like the two of them served the entire restaurant, so not sure why they didn't divide the room in half and take separate tables. There was also no bartender, so one of the servers also had to double as the bartender, so service overall was a bit slow.

Went for Winterlicious, the food was amazing. Shrimp Saganaki - Delicious. Shrimp and tomato soup are always good combo, the pinch of cheese took the flavour to another level. Octopus Salad - Octopus was very soft and well marinated. Sea Bass - It was grilled perfectly, unlike most of the grilled fishes that always go dry, the fish was soft and juicy. Lamb Shank - SO GOOD. The meat was well processed and seasoned, I couldn't even taste that strong smell, which is my most fear of eating lamb. Their meat was so tender. Highly recommended. Baklava - They added cinnamon into it, gave one more flavour to the sweetness. Love this dessert. Chocolate Mousse - Made with dark chocolate, heavy and smooth. Delicious too. It is a great place to have Greek food. Would definitely recommend their lam shank.

Came here for a Summerlicious birthday meal, and was quite impressed! Typically, I avoid Summerlicious now as I find it to be very pricey but also very mediocre quality. This was particularly true after witnessing my friends' Bar Buca winterlicious meal. That said, after much scrounging and close scrutinization of all participants' menus, I settled on Volos as it seemed to be the biggest bang for buck - and I wasn't disappointed! As some of us chose to order a la carte, we were able to check in and redeem the free saganaki appetizer. Opa! The flames were very impressive, but even more so was the cheese. The kefalotyri cheese was steamy and bubbly, with a lovely seared and hardened top. I'm not typically a fan of cheese, but this was amazing. The bread was also on point; served slightly warm, it matched the olive oil completely. I ordered the grilled octopus appetizer, fisherman's stew main, and ouzo chocolate mousse dessert. I also got to sample the grilled calamari ordered by a friend, the Summerlicious lamb shank main, and the baklava dessert. Grilled Octopus: This appetizer was quite large in size; it came with a small side of arugula salad, baba ganoush, and 3-4 grilled tentacles. The salad was dressed very nicely with the perfect lemon vinaigrette. It was my first time trying the baba ganoush, which was nice and smokey, but the texture and taste did throw me off at first. Unfortunately, I found the tentacles to be a tad disappointing. I hoped that the ends would be perfectly charred and grilled, but they came limp and tender. I don't think that they were flame grilled for an adequate time after boiling. Perhaps the name should have been boiled octopus... I also found the balsamic vinegar to be a bit too overwhelming and masked the subtle flavour of the octopus. Grilled Calamari: These pieces of calamari (four in total) came dressed with grilled tomatoes, sweet peppers, and olives. It was a nice and light dish, and the calamari was perfectly al dente. I quite enjoyed this, and actually preferred it over my main. Fisherman Stew: This was a quite comforting main, served with two pieces of garlic bread. The bread was crisp, warm, and so fragrant! While I did enjoy the main and loved the massive, al dente shrimp, and flaky, juicy pieces of sea bass, I found the broth to be overly salty and tomatoey. I wish that there were more flavours to balance it out, including a more subtle sweetness instead of aggressive brine and pepper. The mussels were slightly small and difficult to eat, but overall I found this main to be quite lovely. Braised Lamb Shank: This is the perfect main for those who prefer a more gamey meat taste! The shank comes in bone, served upon an impressive mound of mashed potatoes and wilted greens. My friend found it a tad heavy due to the strong gamey flavour, but I enjoyed my couple bites from it! Ouzo Chocolate Mousse: This is an extremely rich and heavy dessert - but I loved every aspect of it!! The mousse is whipped to be unbelievably light, but the flavour of chocolate is undeniably strong. It's not too sweet by any means, and the dollop of chantilly is the perfect final fluffy touch. The whole dessert is like a rich chocolate cloud. Flourless Chocolate Cake: Due to the lack of flour, this dessert tasted like an avocado chocolate cake. While sweeter than the mousse, it still had a strong chocolate flavour but was quite dense. The texture didn't resonate much with me, but it was okay. Baklava: I had one bite of this dessert, and my friend and I agreed that it is very similar in taste to an apple crumble pie. It's a fairly large dessert, so she packed it to go after our Summerlicious feast! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Volos. The restaurant has an amazing ambiance that's perfect for dinner dates and outings, and the servers are so kind! I found the service to be phenomenal, and well deserving of the 18% gratuity they add to groups larger than 6 (we were 9). It's a bit on the pricey side, but is a nice place if you're looking to splurge a bit and treat yourself!

Great atmosphere. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and prepared. The menu and special offering for the Opera next door was great. Flavours were amazing, presentation was on spot. We will definitely be coming back again!

We have been to volos twice so far, both times were on Valentine's day, two years apart. This place deserves a 5 star review. The food is amazing, the service is extremely friendly and the staff are knowledgeable. The place has a cozy mediterranean vibe to it. The kitchen is open concept so you can see what's going on in it, and the space is sparkling clean. On our second visit, we got the whole red snapper, the market price for which was $49, and the fisherman's stew. Both were extremely delicious. The broth for the stew was so flavourful but not too fishy. The red snapper was cooked to perfection and the sides that came with it complemented it so well. My husband and I enjoyed dining at Volos and we will definitely be back. Also, free saganaki with yelp check-in!! They set it on fire at the table, it's so entertaining! I highly recommend this place.

Visiting Toronto and happened to Yelp a restaurant for dinner tonight. Two kids and two adults. OMG amazing food and ambiance! My picky eaters (I.e. my children) actually ate most of MY DISH (lamb). However, the highlight of our meal was our waiter Alexander (coincidentally his first night). Totally knowledgeable, attentive, and accommodating to a family . He suggested having the saffron ice cream with our baklava and it tasted delicious

Great spot for groups! Visited on a Friday night for the Summerlicious dinner menu. Made reservations for 5 which was easily handled online and seamless. Got the grilled octopus, braised lamb shank, and chocolate mousse. Also a bonus that a Yelp check in gets you a free saganaki (appetizer). The saganaki is their flaming cheese and its quite the spectacle with the dish being doused in flames in front of you! It was very warm and soft and goes super well with the provided bread. The grilled octopus was delicious and tender while contrasting the overly strong vinaigrette. The lamb shank was the highlight for me. It fell right off the bone and was seasoned nicely, mixing with the mashed potatoes and some vegetables. Finally, the chocolate mousse was very rich with some fruits and whipped cream. Service was very friendly and provided good recommendations regarding things such as drink pairings for the menu. It was nice to find a place that doesn't skimp on their offerings during the 'licious menus. Some of my friends had the seafood stew and had good things to say about it too. Recommend!

This restaurant has nice decor and quiet relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent. The food was not anything I would come back for. I tried traditional greek dish moussaka and it was not bad but nothing special, if the dish price was about $15 bucks it would be worth it but for $24 it is overpriced. My partner had snapper for $43 and it was very bland with no taste at all, I could honestly say I do cook fish better at home, and for this price I would expect better quality. If I were the one ordering this dish, I would immidiately send it back to the kitchen, it was just tasteless. The appetizer Saganaki we got was in flames and looked very intersting, it wasn't bad. I saw many people ordering baby back lamb ribs, maybe this is a good dish but I don't know as I haven't tried it. The 3 starts only for the service and the atmosphere.

Excellent service and food. Came early 5:30 so very quiet. The food and service quality is always consistently above average.

Upscale dinner spot. The service was kind and attentive. I had the lamb shank w/ mashed potatoes and vegetables. The meat was tender and juicy that came right off the bone. Elevated by creamy mashed potatoes and excellent vegetables. Sauce from the meat created an excellent flavoring for the potatoes and veggies. Dessert was greek yogurt drizzled with honey and fresh fruit. It was excellent but a fairly simple dish for a steep price point of $13 dollars. Personally, the food was slightly overpriced. However, the restaurant is located in the heart of downtown while still offering a quiet indoor arrangement as a shield from the bustling life. If you're looking for a classy spot with great food, it's definitely worth a shot.

We called in a few days in advanced for a table of 4 for dinner and they informed us that the only table left was a table for 12 in which we would get a section of. This was fine with us, I appreciated the heads up and the table ended up being nicely separated. When we arrived, we were impressed at how nicely decorated it was as we had no idea what to expect from an upscale Greek restaurant. I ordered the Tiger Prawn Saganaki, the Lamb Shank and the Baklava. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the menu was $35 instead of the $38 that was stated on the Winterlicious site. We were kicking ourselves the next day when a friend informed us that we could have gotten a free Saganaki if we checked in on Yelp. Oh well. Everything we ordered was good and came out quickly, but it didn't overly impress us. The lamb was really tender and a decent size. I got to try a bit of the hen which was something new, and although the taste was decent, I felt it was a little dry. After my meal, I was surprised that I didn't feel full after. Overall, we thought the food was average, though I can't speak for the menu off winterlicious.

This dinner could not have gone any better, straight from the service to the ambience and the food. Our server was so lovely and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed and wanted. HERE IS WHAT WE ORDERED: Saganaki: Not only is the presentation spectacular, the cheese is delicious as well. Not too salty, and pairs well with the bread basket. Seafood Krithoroto: Wow... can the seafood here get any better? There's a good balance of seafood to orzo, so you're sure to get a good mix of seafood and orzo in every bite. The calamari is so soft and tender, salmon is flaky and melts in your mouth, and the prawns and mussels are cooked to perfection. Lamb Shank: Probably one of the best lamb dishes i've ever had - the lamb is so tender and juicy, falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. The flavours aren't too over powerful and they do provide a good balance of sides to complement the lamb which is really the star of the dish. Braised Greens: You really do get a lot of greens (asparagus and swiss chard) for $7. It's a great addition especially if your dish is seafood and pasta heavy. Chocolate Mousse: The mousse was so chocolately rich and velvety but very light at the same time. Even if you're super full from dinner, it's light enough to add on and complete your meal. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a place in the financial district. The portions are huge and well prepared, making them a bargain for the price. (Might even be better than some restaurants in greek town and that's saying a lot...)

I decided to come here for Summerlicious since there were so many great reviews on Yelp. I made a reservation for 5:30 on a weekday. They were packed by 6! I checked in on Yelp to get the Saganaki however I had to remind my waitress since our apps came out. So we had to have it with our mains. We started with some bread which was nice and warm. For the apps I had the grilled octopus and my friend had the trio of dips. We had to ask for more bread at this point. Because the dips were just a bunch of dips. There was hummus and tzatziki which were really good but the smoked salmon dip was mediocre for me. The grilled octopus was good. It wasn't chewy and had good flavour. I had the Lobster Kritharoto for my main, and my friend had the lamb shank. The lobster Kritharoto was good but did not exceed my expectations. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious but it didn't wow me like I expected. My friends lamb shank was fall off the bone and he said it was good but again, didn't exceed expectations based on reviews. Our desserts were amazing. Definitely best baklava and chocolate mousse I've ever had. The mousse was more dense than expected and didn't taste too sweet. We both enjoyed our desserts. Overall it was a solid 4. I think I would have given this a 4.5-5 stars if the service was better. It was good but the forgotten saganaki and the fact that our waitress didn't check up on our empty wine glasses when it was busy, it was a little disappointing. But overall, still a good experience.

Incredible venue for a group dinner or a quiet dinner with your date. Food: I had the Seafood Kritharoto which was a medley of freshly cooked season (shrimp with cooked to perfection) on a plate of orzo. I also shared the saganaki appetizer which offered a fiery display prior to the serving. Service : Very patient with our group size and happily split bills for us. Overall great experience and happy diners !

Incredible, Great food and great atmosphere. My wife and I were greeted at the door and immediately settled into our seats. Our waiter Tim was fantastic and his recommendations on the menu were spot on. Great place for a causal dinner or gathering for friends. Our food tasted great and other than being a little pricey it was a beautiful night out for dinner.

A very good Greek option. Started with the arugula salad which was nice, the arugula had a good, not bitter, flavor but could have done with more walnuts and fruit. Followed that with the meatballs, which was probably the highlight of the meal. Fantastic taste and texture. Then had the much acclaimed sea bass, I chose the fillet option, it was very good and I enjoyed the asparagus that came with it. Overall a very good meal.

I came here for some pre-symphony food. It was incredibly lively at the restaurant, but not too loud that you had to show at people across from you. The main dining area is large, and bright; great for groups or a date. The menu has all of the traditional Greek staples you all crave. Portion sizes were reasonable and the food was full of flavour. A nice spot for some upscale Greek food in the heart of the financial district, close to a lot of show spots.

Outstanding food and impeccable dining experience. The manager accommodated us in a last minute change of reservation and the front hostess gave us great suggestions for shopping. Amanda our server was exceptional and what a beautiful girl to approach the table. She was pleasant and genuine. Highly recommend this place for fine Greek dining.

Check in and get the free saganaki!! That may have been the highlight of our meal. Delicious triangle of flaming cheese doused with lemon juice, the perfect blend of sour and salty. After eating an entire saganaki to myself (with baguette slices), I was already quite full. But the mains came and my appetite was back! We had the whole grilled sea bass and the lamb shank. I preferred the fish but my counterpart preferred the lamb! Both were very tasty - I think it was just a matter of which dish we started off with first (cause it was hotter when we ate it). By the time we switched plates with each other, they had cooled down significantly. Lamb shank was fall-off-the bone, but I wouldn't say it stood out to me flavour-wise. The whole fish was really nice, and was paired with nice sides.

I ordered the braised lamb shank and my friend had the exohico (with a substitute). We checked in on Yelp and got a free saganaki (flaming cheese), which was a nice starter. The lamb was amazing, tender and came right off the bone! The mashed potato with spinach below it was kind of cold, as if it was left out for 10 minutes before being served. I really want to try the octopus next time!

We came here for the Summerlicious. This restaurant was initially one of my options for my bachelorette party dinner in August. That is the reason why I wanted to try the Summerlicious menu out. Was I ever glad I didn't select this restaurant for the party. I've ordered the Shrimp Saganaki Ouzo, Feta, Tomato sauce There were 4-5 decent sized shrimp but the shrimp doesn't taste marinated enough. Grilled Whole Mediterranean Seabass Roasted Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables The fish just tasted warm. When a fish is served as a whole and just warm, no matter how fresh the fish is won't taste good. Chocolate Mousse The consistency and flavour was nice. I l've ordered a glass of wine. But I felt invisible throughout the meal. I've reminded myself an hour ago, when I was at the restaurant beside Ritz Carlton enjoying a buck a shuck oysters with excellent service, hence I am still alive and not invisible! At Volos, the table on the right did not order off the Summerlicious menu and ordered two bottles of wine and the table on the left ordered a few bottles of wine. My boyfriend didn't order any drink at all. The server didn't even ask me how my food was, did not refill my water. We ended up having to pour the water ourselves as we luckily got access to this water on top of the decor barrel. In essence, if they decide to treat Winterlicious clients as invisible second class citizen, I suggest they do not participate in Winterlicious or Sunmerlicious in the future. As Summerlicious is supposed to promote the restaurant. Not to turn customers away. Very disappointing experience and just ruined my evening!

O M G. Dining at VOLOS was the perfect way to end the week. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing; there are a lot of candles and cultured ornaments (ie. vases on stands, engravings on the wall) displayed all over. Even the door frames and textiles added liveliness to the Greek restaurant's culture. The service was also very delightful, we were well catered to with respect to the timing of food served, as well as water refilled. Additionally, the staff was well-humoured, sociable, and extremely courteous (way beyond expectations). Summerlicious dinner ~$35 Grilled Moroccan Octopus (VOLOS Organic Olive Oil & Balsamic Dressing) - octopus was juicy and succulent and topped with a minimalistic amount of balsamic glaze; I've also never tried arugula this grassy which was delish; it was served with a side of green coloured puree which I couldn't quite figure out Braised Lamb Shank (Feta Mashed Potatoes, Swiss Chard & Crispy Leeks) - the lamb was extremely tender and literally fell off the bone once my knife touched it! the crispy leek garnishing was a very interesting touch of something-something; the chard has a dry chewy texture but went extremely well with the richly flavoured and delicious mashed potatoes (I'm drooling just thinking of it) Traditional Baklava (Phyllo Pastry, Honey, Walnuts & Pistachios) - the phyllo layers were separated with the top being flakier and crispy, and the bottom had crushed nuts sitting on a honey-drenched layer, which was reminiscent of a granola bar; served with a dash of strawberries and blueberries Lastly, I was intrigued by these flaming dishes that were served around our tables, and they turned out to be the flaming cheese appetizer~$13 Saganaki (Kefalotyri Cheese, Ouzo & Lemon) - the server would come out to flame the cheese and put it out with lemon juice immediately before putting it on our table. It was quite a unique sight that happened to be extremely tasty as well. The cheese was like a saltier version of Parmesan (which happens to be one of my fave), and it was well savoured. I could barely taste the sweetness from the Ouzo but that was completely okay! The outside of the cheese was crispy and the inside was really chewy and just a tad stringy. This dish has heightened my standards for cheese. Hands down the most pleasant summerlicious experience I've ever had.
