Another great experience with Funk Balloons! This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of working with Funk Balloons for birthday celebrations. It’s easy to order, schedule a drop off or delivery, and the balloon designs add SO much to elevate and add a pop of vibrant color to the party! I especially loved the balloon “clouds” they make with the varying sizes and fun shapes. My favorite part is — it’s all the decor I need, and not having to worry about figuring out other decor pieces is a huge relief (I’m busy enough as is)! 5/5 will work with Funk again and again!

Working with Shawn was great! Quick to respond to my initial request via the website and that kind of attention continued until the completion of my small job. He was respectful of my budget and didn’t skimp on time or creativity. He worked directly with the event coordinator at our venue. I didn’t have to worry about anything. His work was beautiful, exactly right for the occasion.

FunkBALLOON did an awesome job with the balloons for my daughter's bridal shower. They were great to work with before the event (dealing with logistics of being on a rooftop) and made great suggestions for the day - the colors were perfect. We had a very short time period to get our event set up and Shawn did a fantastic job getting everything done on time.

The artists at Funk are so awesome! Molly was great to work with and captured my vision perfectly for my husband 40th birthday party! I recommend them for all your show-stopping party decorations!

We hired Von Walter + Funk to create three installations for our wedding at the Penn Society on Sept. 1st, and also purchased two balloon bouquets and a "love bug" balloon for our house party the night before. First off, Molly was incredible to work with - I was legit psycho in the weeks before the wedding - making a GAZILLION changes, not remember what I'd requested, etc, etc, etc. She was unfailing patient and kind in every communication to this stress ball bride. The balloons themselves? GORGEOUS. They added so much to our events! They were my favorite part of the whole weekend - aside from marrying my husband :) I'm now officially obsessed with Von Walter + Funk's balloons. I'd go to work for them tomorrow if they'd hire me, but in the meantime I plan on order installations from them for every single party I host, from dinner parties on up. For real. They were that spectacular.

This place is he_ _a nice!!!!!! This Illy Philly was in Lawrenceville, on Butler Street, and I needed to find a small gift for a friend. Wellllll... I absolutely love the uniqueness and the over funky finesse of this place. They have the most unique gifts that will make the gifted happy! They are a little pricey for what they offer, but I give them a thumbs up for their efforts. I was greeted with a smile and told to look around, so I did. They also do Balloon arches which were extremely pricey, but, once again, I give them and A+ for effort and results! I bought the cutest little glass matchstick holder, and some really unique socks for my daughter (she loved them!). You can buy unique lighting, books, balloons, and gifts and they're surrounded by cafes, bakeries, boutiques and more so if you need a unique gift that will definitely be a conversation starter, make your way over there, but be prepared to pay a little more than you might expect.

We stopped here when we were headed to City Grows next door, and we weren't disappointed. This place is stuffed full of the best gifts - for yourself or someone else - that you'll find anywhere nearby. Unique greeting cards, unusual but appealing cook books, journals, fancy wet bar accessories, coaster made from felt pom poms... you walk in needing nothing, and then realize you want one of everything inside.

I am so happy I found this place! Their website is very user friendly and fun! I was smiling as I scrolling through :). Ordering online was very easy. Their staff called me when my order was ready (in addition to sending an email) to tell me about parking out front and to make sure there was space in my car for the balloons. **there is a "loading zone" parking space right out front of their building--perfect to pull up and load your car! I will for sure be using them again!

Really digging on this shop. Each time I go in to just "browse" I end up walking out with a purchase. Not anything extravagant but a purchase nonetheless. They've got some really neat things ranging from cards and gifts to pillows, towels, decorative and other household items. So far I've purchased some accent pillows, drink ware, towels and other odds and ends. This place has a cool and funky vibe to it and while some of the items can be pricey they definitely have things that are affordable. It's definitely worth the visit.

I've been trying to find a prezzy for my BFF for a long while. She lives in Portland, I need unique on a competitive level! Several markets and such have come to no avail. It's the weekend and I left another market uninspired. So, I'm convinced that I need to go to Von Walter & Funk. Good thing my mindset has me convinced to do so! Upon entering I'm intrigued by all the goodies. Cocktail infuser, coasters, lighting, oh my! This is my home goods dream. I stroll around. Does BFF need a wine tote? Yes, but probably has one already. Marble cooking block? Loves, but costly to mail. Ohh, the hanging frame in copper catches my eye. Winner! The ladies working help me deliberate between the hanging option vs. standing option. One gets the box for it while I browse. She gets it ready knowing it's a present. As I'm checking out she ask for my gift wrap preference, complimentary gift wrap--oh, thank you! I walk out with a beautiful prezzy wrapped I style. My Sunday is complete.

Lawrenceville is full of quaint local shops, and Von Walter and Funk is one of the best! I don't make the trek to Upper Lawrenceville too often, but I may be making some special trips after discovering this gem of a store today. There are so many lovely gifts here, from candles to antiques to cards. They also carry some local Pittsburgh wares, such as bracelets and cuffs from Studebaker metals. And oh, the bar carts! I love a good bar cart, and Von Walter and Funk has everything you need to set up the trendiest of carts. Their accessories are beautiful and unique. I challenge you to take a trip here and not find something that you want to take home with you! All in all, a wonderful shop in Lawrenceville that deserves every 5-star review it already has.

I visited this shop for the first time today. I've been following them on Instagram for a bit. Let me just say that this store is even better in person. For real. There are so many things to look at that your eyes just keep dancing around. They have bar ware, lighting, cards, clocks, pillows, and the list goes on and on. If you need a really cool gift for someone (or yourself) this is the place that you need to go. You won't walk out empty handed. The coolest thing is that you can make personalized lighting. You pick the bulb, the color or cord (think rainbow of colors), and the light is put together for you. I thought of all of the different ways that you could use this lighting. Not to mention that you have to love shops that support Pet Shelters. Today the store had kittens to adopt along with two workers from Animal Friends to help you with the process. Go now! You might be a little bummed you didn't go sooner.

This place is top notch. I recently purchased some custom balloons from them for a work event and they were a huge hit. Shawn worked with me to create balloons with custom prints on them. The balloon quality and his creativity were top notch. Highly recommend! Also the store has a lovely variety of cards, books, gifts, housewares.

This place has everything you want but don't need and will have you finding ways to make them a need. Greeting cards, drinking games, cookbooks, glassware, you name it, this place has it! If you're looking for that unique gift, this is the place to start. If you're looking for a non-generic greeting card, this is the place to start. The vibe that they've created in this shop is awesome! From the warm wood architecture to the comforting scents to the cool music, get ready to walk into an experience!

I am obsessed with this place! I'm obsessed with how well curated it is, the items sold are quirky, unique and fun and the owner is just the nicest person ever! They sell a variety of items that include vintage and new housewares and bath and body products. Most of the vintage items are barware, which I'm super into! I bought a fab 60's martini shaker. They also carry new dish towels, pillows and even wallpaper. There's a small selection of greeting cards and stationary. The entire backroom is bath and body. You can even try out products at the working sink. Tons of creams, scrubs, etc. If you are looking for a gift, this is the perfect place to get something special. If you just want something for yourself, indulge!

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. You don't find these kind of antique vintage shops a lot anymore, it was an other worldly experience. There are items up to buy everywhere, but somehow it's peace in chaos. Everything is so intricate you're almost afraid to touch haha. Good place to take a look, not necessarily buy stuff. One of the many gems in Lawrenceville.

If you haven't been to this store, you are doing your life all wrong. It's the perfect addition to Larryville! First, if you are into antiques, Shawn the owner, has beautiful pieces. It's not like most antique places that are dusty and musty. The store is clean and bright. In addition to the antiques, there is a huge collection of glassware, barware, and other pieces. The apothecary is amazing and has many brands that are top notch even though they were new to me. It's a great place to buy unique and thoughtful gifts. I did some early shopping there.

Last weekend I wandered into this classy home decor shop and really enjoyed perusing their carefully-selected collection of housewares, interiors, kitchenware, and bath items. The shop clerk, who was so knowledgeable about the stock that I'm guessing was one of the owners, was pleasant to chat with and had some good comments. Some of my favorite things were the high-quality barware (copper cocktail shaker!) and fun selection of high-end cookbooks. I am not really much of a fancy-lotions-and-bath-products person, but much of the back room had bath products with a farmhouse sink so you could try out different things--a nice touch. This is a good place to get a gift for a foodie or someone who appreciates quality things.

Such a unique store! It's chock full of little delights you didn't know you needed in your life until you get there and then you suddenly realize you can't live without them. The shop is a feast for the eyes and there are layers and layers of whimsy and elegance all around you. It's a must visit when in Lawrenceville.

Vintage finds are perfectly mixed in with new items. The store also offers a great selection of soaps, soy candles, shaving needs for the gentleman in your life, and even wallpaper. VW&F is my go-to place for unique gifts - for others and myself!

Stumbled onto this great little shop when I was in Pittsburgh on a work trip recently. The owner Shawn has an awesome collection of eclectic and interesting antiques, locally made made glass and metal items, books and bath products. Absolutely love the the mint and lemongrass shampoo that I got while I was there (saw this for sale on their website too)! The fun antique bar ware would make a great gift. Definitely worth a visit to this shop and the others in this neighborhood!
