This is my third time coming this week-from Manhattan just because of the delish food AND they are helping me now get sour cream for my borsch soup ! Because I asked “it only goes with sour cream” -and right away they found a way to make this happen and said from now on it will come with it :) only 30 min from the city catch the R change to B on dekalb . EBT accepted even for hot food

Best halal meat in the neighborhood; very clean, and the meat guys are very friendly (the "other place" isn't). I buy all my meat here; it's also a little cheaper than elsewhere. The soups are all excellent, I have a hard time choosing! The other prepared food is also good Produce Dept could be better... I usually get that at other shops, but sometimes they have good deals here

This supermarket is amazing! They have everything you need—fresh produce, quality meat, and a wide range of groceries—all certified halal and kosher. Fresh food and delicious! Great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner! It looks amazing and taste great! Definitely recommend if looking for a meal, also optional for how much you want to eat.

I went here and bought 2 pirozhki then the women at the register was new and charged me for 2 samsa’s and keep in mind they cost a dollar extra, I only realized this after she charged me, they should be very careful on who they hire for the job.

I went to your store to buy groceries, in the sausage department there was a rather nice, friendly girl who suggested, gave advice, and in general, in 5 minutes or less of our conversation, I had a good impression of the employees of this store! but then it was more fun when I approached the queue to pay for my purchases, out of 14 or 13 cash registers only one was working! When I asked why only one cash register was open, the girl behind the cash register answered me!!! everyone is waiting and you are waiting!!! In general, your cashiers are simply rude and rude to customers! Never set foot in your store again! Food is fresh but totally flavorless. I bought 4 salads and none of them had any salt or pepper or anything that would help w flavoring. Beef sheesh- tasted boiled (not grilled) and flavorless. Also got 2 types of desert items- both not sweet, just creamy. Our joke was that chef has covid and cant taste 😂.

When you want authentic Russian/Soviet cuisine, I've been told that you have to go to Brighton Beach. Samarkand Bazaar and Tashkent Market, their rival across the street are like the Russian version of what H-mart is for Korean groceries in New York City. Admittedly I haven't tried much from the market itself outside of fresh bread, pastries, and gyro sandwiches, which were great. They do have a variety of items in their salad bar like Borscht. They also have a variety of Russian items on the shelves you wouldn't find elsewhere outside of Brighton Beach. Additionally, since it's not midtown Manhattan but all the way out in Brighton Beach, it's cheaper to get produce and other things there than stores in other neighborhoods.

The food is simply horrible. The food in the window outside that sells belyashi and samsa is awful. Inside this is the most unappetizing food. Samarkand Bazar had a chance to be at least an equal to Tashkent. The management of this store was incompetent and they didn't know how to listen and respond to critique. They simply took for granted that this is a big Uzbek community. However, this wasn't enough. While Tashkent has lines all the way to the entrance that clear in 4 minutes, Samarkand has one cashier and long wait times for relatively no value. Their vegetables and fruits are in an awful shape and the first mistake was getting rid of Aaron. The staff are clueless the environment is somber and depressing. The food looks like it's been laying there for days. When is this place closing? Anyone knows? Give this space to someone who can manage a large competitive business. Fire all your so called managers. They destroyed your business.

This market is so big and well taken care of, the service is great and everyone is so nice. I went to get some groceries and ended up meeting the owner and he was so generous and helpful!!

This place is Amazing. Very friendly faces serving you to their best abilities. Delicious food made fresh every single day! Located in heart of Brighton and Coney Island, including the vibrant community. As soon as you walk inside, you're captured by a fresh and refreshing breeze of culture and style. Russian, Uzbek, and Tajik cuisine better than this in New York? You just won't find it.

Takes gut to be sandwiched between Tashkent and Netcost, but got to say the hot bar surprised me as I found food that I don't see at Tashkent, however the later supermarket still offers a wider varieties. This supermarket's prices are more affordable though and there's a cute section for made to order plov and the limited pastries are as cheap as $1. Staff is friendly and place is clean. Produces are fresh as well. I still give Tashkent the head's up for overall choices, but Samarkand does have its charm.

Well now that it opened it's actually very nice. They have a huge food bar and many things to choose from, prices seemed cheap as well. Latino workers are the nicest though in regards to the cashiers it's mostly young people and they're more interested in having conversations than helping you. Didn't get a hello or goodbye when I paid for my things. The dude didn't even ask me how I was paying. So for that it's 4 stars.

I bought two ribeye steaks last night, and when I took them out of the fridge today, both had a bad smell, though they weren't completely rotten. I understand that $10 per pound is cheap and the price does hint at a certain risk, but that's no excuse to sell beef that's starting to go bad

Their buffet style salad bar is a gamble. Some of the items were not fresh and some were spoiled. Be mindful when getting food here.

Don't get ready food bc they have literally small bones in it I broke my tooth and they don't even care

I would give 5 stars, it's clean, friendly stuff , many variety of food. But I don't like games with selling expired stuff l. For example I asked my husband to bring some white cherries and they was looking good . But when you bite- it's absolutely rotten. Normally it's was garbage at the moment when they sells it. It's not about money for me but some people don't have enough money to buy garbage. So, now I'm guessing if I'll be back.

I love this perfect supermarket!!!! From the moment I walked in the supermarket I was met by amazing service and varieties of food! This was an amazing experience! Automatic 5 stars!

I leave in NJ and try to shop at the store on Saturday, Nov 11, 2023. I bought mante and found absolute devastation. Meet inside was from the sheep that may be a 100-year-old. No salt, no pepper, no spices, tasted like stone. Dough shell as a dry rock. That was an embarrassment in front of my guests. Never shop in this store again.

I wanted to love this place and we just bought pilaf (plov) from Samarkand, while the taste and appearance was good, we saw a dead FLY in the plov ! That killed my appetite right away, I had to throw the whole thing into the trash unfortunately. While I understand flies can fly into the store, it's unacceptable to serve your customers food with dead flies in it. Don't think I will buy pilaf from this place again.
