I do not take pleasure in writing this review, but you kinda just ruined our date night after a long week of working opposite shifts.
I booked tickets to see Tron: Ares for the 8pm viewing, using the app and B1G1 ticket offer with my credit card. I received a booking error in the app, but I confirmed the money had been deducted and the tickets were in the “current purchases” section with a QR Code.
We arrive, and ask to buy water and popcorn at the counter. No question of which water we want, the assistant just assumes we want to purchase Swedish spring water at 12AED per bottle. Too embarrassed to ask for cheaper water, I just pay up. I dislike sales pressure, it’s cruel.
We grab our expensive water and head to the ticket scan, where I open the app where I left it, with the QR code tickets, but as I open the app, they just disappear. I ask for help locating them, but turns out they were refunded and within “past purchases”. I was directed to go to the ticket counter to purchase tickets as the movie was just about to start.
The ticket purchase counter informed that I could only use the B1G1 offer online or in app, so I re open the app to attempt purchase of the tickets. At purchase, I was refused presumably because I already used a B1G1 offer today. I bring this issue back to the attention of the two attendants at the ticket scan who suggested that I am now to pay full price for two tickets.
Whilst this is not real expense to me, out of principle I said “never mind” and left the cinema with our expensive water and popcorn. We did have another B1G1 bank offer we could use, but by this time the movie had most definitely started as it was 8:20pm. I left on principle, poor customer service and feeling totally embarrassed - never to return again.
