We stayed two nights at Voyager Beach Resort. I booked a garden view twin and we were super happy to find our room, in deck 1, had a view across the gardens to the pool and ocean. The room was huge and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom is definitely in need of an update but it was perfectly functional. We loved the big fluffy towels!
We were very surprised to find that I’d booked a fully inclusive package that included all meals and drinks. It's the first time we've stayed 'all inclusive'. The available beers, wines, spirits and cocktails were all that we wanted, and, well, more than we needed!
The lunch and breakfast buffets were truly gigantic. An amazing variety. We didn’t go to the dinner buffet as we ate away from the resort on our first night and at the ‘Italian’ the second. We would not recommend the Italian. The food was beautifully presented, and was good, but it just took too long to be served. Drinks took forever as well. There was also a daily afternoon tea that we didn't try.
The weather wasn’t our friend during our stay and it rained on and off for most of the two days. We still made the most of what was on offer including spending some quality time at the Look Out Bar working our way through the included cocktails.
It is a big and busy resort but it didn’t ever feel crowded. The staff were all super nice and looked like they enjoyed working at the resort. All the guests looked like they were enjoying themselves too. The gardens are beautiful and there are three pools, including an adults only pool.
One thing to note is that there’s no proper beach in front of the hotel and this for us was a big minus. When the tide is out there’s sand, but it’s not a beach. The wide sandy beach starts immediately to the south of the resort.
We’d recommend the resort to anyone wanting an all inclusive Mombasa ocean front experience. Great accommodation, facilities, entertainment, food and drinks and safety.
